    And pray tell what experience would that be…  his experience of sweating and being an obvious nervous nellie during debates.   His experience of backing away from issues he campaigned on when it better suits him. And his talents…  yeah…  he’s very talented at being absent whenever the Senate is in session for voting.

    I guess I should praise the Orlando Sentinel for taking a principled stand…  but boy is it woefully late.

Heard today from one of the passing punditry:  “Donald Trump is corrupting a segment of the population with hatred and conspiracies.”.  Excuse me but this is hardly a new found condition.  Talk radio and outlets such as Drudge & Breitbart have been grooming these people for decades.  They have been fed a daily high volume dose of hate, fear & persecution.  Donald Trump is just the result of dishing out lies to the low info contingent who feel left behind midst all the changes of modern life.

    They have been injured but the causes reside in the greed and lust for power by those who prey on them.

    Major Utah newspaper The Salt Lake City Tribune on Wednesday endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in an editorial, calling her the “only qualified candidate” and “the best choice.”

    “It is time to make a reasonable, considerate, realistic vote for president of the United States,” the editorial said. “There is certainly not a perfect choice but, at this point, the only candidate who comes close to being qualified and fit for the post is Hillary Clinton.”

    The editorial said that Trump’s “outsider candidacy” began with “some good intentions” such as being willing to challenge the Republican Party’s religious right and taking a more critical view of President George W. Bush’s administration.

    “But, as it played out, his entire campaign was based on divisive, bigoted and insulting rhetoric. On lies about how bad things are,” it said. “On a promise to fix things by basically being a dictator. It was all designed to inflame a vocal minority of us who haven’t adjusted to the fact that the America where white males brought home the bacon from secure factory jobs — and didn’t have to deal with a globe of different ethnic backgrounds — is gone for good.”

    The editorial concluded that “Trump is astoundingly unfit” and “the best choice, without a doubt, is Hillary Clinton.”

What is going on?  Why this venomous hatred for a woman who actually has one of the better progressive track records of recent times?  Granted she’s a long-time, professional politician, who has made mistakes and compromises.  Yes, she takes money from Wall Street—so does every other politician except Bernie Sanders who made a huge step forward by showing just how far you can go on small donations.  But he is the exception. As long as politics are dependent on money, politicians will be beholden to money.  Why this intense hatred so specifically focused on Clinton?
    At the end of a talk I gave last week in Santa Barbara, a young woman approached me and said something I found extremely insightful about the current political moment.  Her name is Margaret Gregston, and I want to credit her because women so often don’t receive credit for our contributions.  “People think they hate Hillary Clinton, but really they hate the political system,” she said. “Hillary Clinton is bearing the brunt of people’s dissatisfaction with the whole thing, just as women always catch all the flak.”
    Thank you, Margaret!  Much has been written about the misogyny involved in the virulence of people’s hatred for Clinton.  But there’s an aspect of this that goes deeper than simple misogyny. It goes to the heart of the risk all strong women take when we stand up, especially publicly—the deep archetype of our collective fear and mistrust of powerful women.  We risk being seen as the Witch—She whose powers are immense and unfathomable, scary and malevolent.

    For Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichenwald, the words Trump read sounded familiar. It turns out they were taken from an article he wrote, which Blumenthal had included in an email. So they were not Blumenthal’s words, but Eichenwald’s.

    The misconstrued “email” that Trump was reading had appeared in an article on a Russia-funded website called Sputnik, which has since taken it down.

    It’s unclear how Trump obtained the same misinformation that appeared in Sputnik. Eichenwald asks: “Who in the Trump campaign was feeding him falsehoods straight from the Kremlin?”

    But there are other, less sinister possibilities, including that someone on Trump’s staff, or Trump himself, found the Sputnik story on the Internet and thought it too good not to use (or to check).

    The Blumenthal email containing the Eichenwald story was posted by WikiLeaks, and apparently hacked from Clinton campaign manager John Podesta’s account.

    A federal judge has ordered a status conference hearing after a woman filed a lawsuit claiming Donald Trump raped her when she was 13-years-old in 1994.

    In the lawsuit a witness, identified by the pseudonym Tiffany Doe, alleges she saw Mr Trump and billionaire-paedophile Jeffrey Epstein repeatedly rape the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe.

    The complaint claims Epstein hired an unidentified woman to pick up teenage girls to bring to his parties. 

    The plaintiff’s third attempt in filing the lawsuit features a new witness named Joan Doe.

    Mr Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations. 

    “As I have said before, the allegations are categorically untrue and an obvious publicity stunt aimed at smearing my client,” Alan Garten, Mr Trump’s attorney, told LawNewz.com. 

    “In the event we are actually served this time, we intend to move for sanctions for this frivolous filing.”

    Federal Judge Ronnie Abrams has ordered that the status conference hearing for 16 December in a New York court.

    She has asked for both sides to provide information to assist the Court in advancing the case to settlement or trial.

  25. Okay you fracking folks, went to the dentist this morning and was sitting talking with a man who lives in Doddridge County, about 20 miles from my home. He has a farm and he told me that there’s fracking all around his farm, none of it on his farm. He was recounting to me that he had to put a $7,000 water treatment system in to remove the methane from his well water. He never had methane in his well water prior to the beginning of fracking in his area.

I watched a Christian woman on CNN who cannot vote for trump and I assume will never vote democratic because of the dem’s stance that a woman owns her own body and is in charge of her own health.  I am so happy Jesus was not a one-issue divine human.  There are so many humans that need help — the poor, the sick, the lost and my early Christian training (I did confirm as a Lutheran as a teen) did teach me they are welcome into the fold.   I know I am now a sun worshiper, but I really try to incorporate Christian ideals in my life.  Hubby and I used to say, what would Jesus do?  I think he would vote for Hillary.

  31. pogo…the news about the fracking concerns me…it is the wastewater from fracking that is put back into mother earth that can cause earthquakes.  I have rider on my home insurance (cheap about $35. because I do not live in Cali) for earthquake coverage.  We have them in southern New Mexico.  I live in a rift valley, volcanics and faults on both mesas surrounding the Rio Grande.

    Well Said.  We Hillary supporters are always being pestered to tell others “What has she done”.  I’m always tempted to come back with, “What has she done that is so much worse than any other politician”.  Basically Bill couldn’t keep it in his pants.  Hillary decided to keep her marriage.  Other than that they have been dedicated public servants for more than 30 years.  As a result they have made associates and friends who benefitted them financially in addition to great book advances, speeches, and investments.

    While doing that they just happened to create a foundation that has saved thousands of lives around the globe.  All you have to do is look at their taxes and their generosity is in all of the past decades.

    Neither one is a saint, but they are brilliant and seemingly kind and committed to the welfare of others.

    Anything else you’ve heard is an exaggeration, lie, conspiracy theory or just political opposition from the fringiest of the fringe nut cases.  Given the insanity of the rabid Trump followers, I’m just terrified it might get one of the killed.

  43. The anti-Rubio ad running in Florida covers how Rubio has the worst attendance of the last fifty years.  Then it covers the few votes he has done, mostly rejecting everything FDR and Johnson put in place. It ends with “It’s bad when Marco skips work, worse when he doesn’t”

    If you are on the fence it is a solid ad.  Plus you have to lived in the swamps for years to not know the guy and his life.

The Marquette University law School did a four day poll that shows that Hoosiers are fleeing from Trump and Quinnipiac’s latest poll shows that Independents are fleeing from trump. Be interesting to see what the Bulls do now that there what, 3 more people coming out to say that Trump has groped them or forced kisses on them consistent with what he told Billy bush. And of course there’s the rape case…
