“Until now, we have never missed an opportunity to recommend Marco Rubio to voters. … This race is different. … If Rubio is re-elected to the Senate, and decides to pivot for another run for the White House in a couple of years, Floridians won’t be getting the full attention that they expect and deserve. They also are more likely to see him do things, like retreating on immigration reform, that make more sense for a GOP presidential candidate than a sitting Florida senator. All of Rubio’s experience and talents, if they are at risk of being diverted elsewhere, aren’t enough to persuade us to recommend him to voters for another U.S. Senate term. We endorse Democrat Patrick Murphy.” Read More

In Mercieca’s view, the rhetoric of this election has gone dangerously far.
“When we treat politics like sport or war, then we treat ourselves as fans or soldiers, cheering or booing or following orders,” she says.
“When we treat politics like that, then those who hold differing views from us are not wrong, they are evil. They are not mistaken, they are enemies.”
Miami herald advises: Donât say âHappy Yom Kippur!â and 4 other tips for the Jewish holy day
The Day of Atonement, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, is a time set aside to repent for sins and to reflect on the year past and the year to come.
[….]
2. If you are Jewish but not completely up on all the meanings of the day, the Day of Atonement refers to the transgressions between man and God. If youâve sinned against another person, youâve got to make your reconciliations one on one with that person. Thatâs Judaism 101, folks.

…..the agency will continue to function, and the ruling (which will be appealed) wonât come into play until the country elects a presidentâa Republican, almost surelyâwho wants to stop protecting the public from financial predators.
At most, if the ruling holds up, it will shift CFPB from an independent agencyâstructured so that it would be insulated from politicsâto a kind of cabinet agency that changes with each presidential administration. Thatâs hardly ideal.
But thereâs a twist here: The ruling might actually throw up a hurdle to the relentless Republican drive to torpedo the bureau, rather than spur it on. By labeling CFPB unconstitutional, the D.C. Circuit ironically protected the agency from attacks on its constitutionality
Election Update: Women Are Defeating Donald Trump

I hope President Obama received an early morning call from our ally in the Middle East.
All of Rubio’s experience and talents…
And pray tell what experience would that be… Â his experience of sweating and being an obvious nervous nellie during debates. Â His experience of backing away from issues he campaigned on when it better suits him. And his talents… Â yeah… Â he’s very talented at being absent whenever the Senate is in session for voting.
I guess I should praise the Orlando Sentinel for taking a principled stand… Â but boy is it woefully late.
Heard today from one of the passing punditry: Â “Donald Trump is corrupting a segment of the population with hatred and conspiracies.”. Â Excuse me but this is hardly a new found condition. Â Talk radio and outlets such as Drudge & Breitbart have been grooming these people for decades. Â They have been fed a daily high volume dose of hate, fear & persecution. Â Donald Trump is just the result of dishing out lies to the low info contingent who feel left behind midst all the changes of modern life.
They have been injured but the causes reside in the greed and lust for power by those who prey on them.

At the rate thing are going Troll Trump will take down Rubio

cbsnews:
Major Utah newspaper The Salt Lake City Tribune on Wednesday endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in an editorial, calling her the âonly qualified candidateâ and âthe best choice.â
âIt is time to make a reasonable, considerate, realistic vote for president of the United States,â the editorial said. âThere is certainly not a perfect choice but, at this point, the only candidate who comes close to being qualified and fit for the post is Hillary Clinton.â
The editorial said that Trumpâs âoutsider candidacyâ began with âsome good intentionsâ such as being willing to challenge the Republican Partyâs religious right and taking a more critical view of President George W. Bushâs administration.
âBut, as it played out, his entire campaign was based on divisive, bigoted and insulting rhetoric. On lies about how bad things are,â it said. âOn a promise to fix things by basically being a dictator. It was all designed to inflame a vocal minority of us who havenât adjusted to the fact that the America where white males brought home the bacon from secure factory jobs â and didnât have to deal with a globe of different ethnic backgrounds â is gone for good.â
The editorial concluded that âTrump is astoundingly unfitâ and âthe best choice, without a doubt, is Hillary Clinton.â
He’s a whack job but the people who support him are worse.  They are victims of their own behavior.  If they didn’t hate anyone who isn’t like them they would be in a lot better shape but working to preserve the confederacy all these years takes money and time that could have gone to  better use

I hope the condom made enough money to retire  — it will be hard for her to represent that she can get women to vote for the goops
Huh? What is going on?  Why this venomous hatred for a woman who actually has one of the better progressive track records of recent times?  Granted sheâs a long-time, professional politician, who has made mistakes and compromises.  Yes, she takes money from Wall Streetâso does every other politician except Bernie Sanders who made a huge step forward by showing just how far you can go on small donations.  But he is the exception. As long as politics are dependent on money, politicians will be beholden to money.  Why this intense hatred so specifically focused on Clinton?
At the end of a talk I gave last week in Santa Barbara, a young woman approached me and said something I found extremely insightful about the current political moment.  Her name is Margaret Gregston, and I want to credit her because women so often donât receive credit for our contributions.  âPeople think they hate Hillary Clinton, but really they hate the political system,â she said. âHillary Clinton is bearing the brunt of peopleâs dissatisfaction with the whole thing, just as women always catch all the flak.â
Thank you, Margaret!  Much has been written about the misogyny involved in the virulence of peopleâs hatred for Clinton.  But thereâs an aspect of this that goes deeper than simple misogyny. It goes to the heart of the risk all strong women take when we stand up, especially publiclyâthe deep archetype of our collective fear and mistrust of powerful women.  We risk being seen as the WitchâShe whose powers are immense and unfathomable, scary and malevolent.
As long as McMullin isn’t a whack-adoodle Clinton should consider him for her “Team of Rivals”
npr:Â Trump Apparently Quotes Russian Propaganda To Slam Clinton On Benghazi
For Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichenwald, the words Trump read sounded familiar. It turns out they were taken from an article he wrote, which Blumenthal had included in an email. So they were not Blumenthal’s words, but Eichenwald’s.
The misconstrued “email” that Trump was reading had appeared in an article on a Russia-funded website called Sputnik, which has since taken it down.
You can see the original in a screen grab from The Washington Post.
It’s unclear how Trump obtained the same misinformation that appeared in Sputnik. Eichenwald asks: “Who in the Trump campaign was feeding him falsehoods straight from the Kremlin?”
But there are other, less sinister possibilities, including that someone on Trump’s staff, or Trump himself, found the Sputnik story on the Internet and thought it too good not to use (or to check).
The Blumenthal email containing the Eichenwald story was posted by WikiLeaks, and apparently hacked from Clinton campaign manager John Podesta’s account.

the week:
Hecklers looking to make a buck are interrupting Barack Obama and other speakers at Hillary Clinton rallies at the request of Donald Trump ally and Infowars founder Alex Jones. On Friday, Jones offered his fans a $1,000 reward if they are shown on television for at least five seconds in a “Bill Clinton rape” shirt, or $5,000 if they are heard shouting “Bill Clinton is a rapist” in the clothing; there have already been disruptions at separate rallies in Florida, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, NBC News reports.
In a video of Obama being interrupted, the president can be seen laughing at the protesters who have jumped in front of his podium. Later, when someone else interrupts, he responds, “You know what, here’s the deal. Try to get your own rally.” At a third interruption he urges the crowd not to boo, saying, “This is our democracy at work. This is great.”
Bill Clinton was interrupted Saturday by someone calling him a rapist and in response, the former president asked the crowd to applaud the heckler. “You gotta feel sorry for him. They had a bad day yesterday, so they’re trying to make it up,” Clinton said. “Give him a hand ⌠When other people pour poison down your throat, don’t drink it. Give back good.” Jeva Lange

the independent:
A federal judge has ordered a status conference hearing after a woman filed a lawsuit claiming Donald Trump raped her when she was 13-years-old in 1994.
In the lawsuit a witness, identified by the pseudonym Tiffany Doe, alleges she saw Mr Trump and billionaire-paedophile Jeffrey Epstein repeatedly rape the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe.
The complaint claims Epstein hired an unidentified woman to pick up teenage girls to bring to his parties.Â
The plaintiff’s third attempt in filing the lawsuit features a new witness named Joan Doe.
Mr Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations.Â
âAs I have said before, the allegations are categorically untrue and an obvious publicity stunt aimed at smearing my client,â Alan Garten, Mr Trumpâs attorney, told LawNewz.com.Â
âIn the event we are actually served this time, we intend to move for sanctions for this frivolous filing.â
Federal Judge Ronnie Abrams has ordered that the status conference hearing for 16 December in a New York court.
She has asked for both sides to provide information to assist the Court in advancing the case to settlement or trial.
Okay you fracking folks, went to the dentist this morning and was sitting talking with a man who lives in Doddridge County, about 20 miles from my home. He has a farm and he told me that there’s fracking all around his farm, none of it on his farm. He was recounting to me that he had to put a $7,000 water treatment system in to remove the methane from his well water. He never had methane in his well water prior to the beginning of fracking in his area.
trouble in NM..NM repugs split.  our secretary of state, Espinoza, who replaced the last repug SOS Duran (this might be where the ‘lock her up’ came from, just the incorrect SOS) is running for re-election.  Espinoza supports trump and believes that abortion causes breast cancer —
from the post
Even worse, Espinoza tried to pass one of the most extreme bills on womenâs health care in the nation. Her law would have required doctors to falsely tell women that having an abortion increases the chance of getting breast cancer. She even wanted to bring criminal charges against doctors who didnât provide this false information.
Ahhhh, Karma. Â If drumpf goes there, so should Hillary.
Trump should move to Russia after the election
I watched a Christian woman on CNN who cannot vote for trump and I assume will never vote democratic because of the dem’s stance that a woman owns her own body and is in charge of her own health. Â I am so happy Jesus was not a one-issue divine human. Â There are so many humans that need help — the poor, the sick, the lost and my early Christian training (I did confirm as a Lutheran as a teen) did teach me they are welcome into the fold. Â I know I am now a sun worshiper, but I really try to incorporate Christian ideals in my life. Â Hubby and I used to say, what would Jesus do? Â I think he would vote for Hillary.
Trump’s debate bounce lasted one day then Paul Ryan dumped on it
pogo…the news about the fracking concerns me…it is the wastewater from fracking that is put back into mother earth that can cause earthquakes. Â I have rider on my home insurance (cheap about $35. because I do not live in Cali) for earthquake coverage. Â We have them in southern New Mexico. Â I live in a rift valley, volcanics and faults on both mesas surrounding the Rio Grande.
From a theatrical point of view what he’s doing to the GOP is hilarious.
He’s grabbing them by the latissibles…….

And they have to let him……cause he’s a star……and they’re republicans.
pogo, yeah, especially when karma comes via a fed judge. haven’t seen more on that lawsuit story, have you?
drumpf sure is predictable with his pattern of pre-emptive nasty accusations to be followed inevitably  by disclosures that show him indulging in same nastiness he accused others.

Well Said. Â We Hillary supporters are always being pestered to tell others “What has she done”. Â I’m always tempted to come back with, “What has she done that is so much worse than any other politician”. Â Basically Bill couldn’t keep it in his pants. Â Hillary decided to keep her marriage. Â Other than that they have been dedicated public servants for more than 30 years. Â As a result they have made associates and friends who benefitted them financially in addition to great book advances, speeches, and investments.
While doing that they just happened to create a foundation that has saved thousands of lives around the globe. Â All you have to do is look at their taxes and their generosity is in all of the past decades.
Neither one is a saint, but they are brilliant and seemingly kind and committed to the welfare of others.
Anything else you’ve heard is an exaggeration, lie, conspiracy theory or just political opposition from the fringiest of the fringe nut cases. Â Given the insanity of the rabid Trump followers, I’m just terrified it might get one of the killed.
Not only is the deadbeat sinking like a turd in a flushed commode, his campaign already has. There are only 3 campaign strategies, and the trump group has switched from ‘time for a change’ to ‘I’m better than the other guy’ – bill Clinton, in this case. As I assume (for no particular reason) that the trump HQ has people who once knew something about running campaigns, this leap must be caused by desperation or collective amnesia.
Since I started paying close attention to campaigns in 1960, I never saw any kind of election campaign win after changing strategies.
for the undecideds…nuclear threat.
“….I assume (for no particular reason) that the trump HQ has people who once knew something about running campaigns….”

drumpf at debate: âI notice, anytime anything wrong happens, they like to say the Russians are â she doesnât know if itâs the Russians doing the hacking. Maybe there is no hacking,…But they always blame Russia. And the reason they blame Russia is because they think theyâre trying to tarnish me with Russia. I know nothing about Russia. I know â I know about Russia, but I know nothing about the inner workings of Russia.â
from august story in time “Donald Trumpâs Many, Many, Many, Many Ties to Russia”
Most of the coverage of the links between Trump and Putinâs Russia takes the GOP presidential nominee at his wordâthat he has lusted after a Trump tower in Moscow, and come up spectacularly short. But Trumpâs dodgeâthat he has no businesses in Russia, so there is no connection to Putinâis a classic magicianâs trick. Show one idle hand, while the other is actually doing the work.
The truth, as several columnists and reporters have painstakingly shown since the first hack of a Clinton-affiliated group took place in late May or early June, is that several of Trumpâs businesses outside of Russia are entangled with Russian financiers inside Putinâs circle.
So, yes, itâs true that Trump has failed to land a business venture inside Russia. But the real truth is that, as major banks in America stopped lending him money following his many bankruptcies, the Trump organization was forced to seek financing from non-traditional institutions. Several had direct ties to Russian financial interests in ways that have raised eyebrows. Whatâs more, several of Trumpâs senior advisors have business ties to Russia or its satellite politicians.
âThe Trump-Russia links beneath the surface are even more extensive,â Max Boot wrote in the Los Angeles Times. âTrump has sought and received funding from Russian investors for his business ventures, especially after most American banks stopped lending to him following his multiple bankruptcies.â
Whatâs more, three of Trumpâs top advisors all have extensive financial and business ties to Russian financiers, wrote Boot, the former editor of the Op Ed page of the Wall Street Journal and now a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.
so why should the drumpf sanctum sanctorum worry with campaigning when they have friends like this?
ny times:Â “Groupâs Tactic on Hillary Clinton: Sue Her Again and Again”
In between her extensive debate prep and her final, frenzied bid to raise money and win over voters, Hillary Clinton has had to carve out time to answer 25 detailed questions about her use of a private email server as secretary of state.
The questions came not from the F.B.I., which has closed its investigation into the issue, or from Congress, or even from a news outlet. They came from a nonprofit organization called Judicial Watch.
If the 2016 election has brought forward a new generation of Clinton antagonists â WikiLeaks, Breitbart, Russia â it has also reintroduced America to an old one.
Judicial Watch was one of the Clintonsâ original tormentors, a charter member of what Mrs. Clinton famously called a âvast right-wing conspiracyâ to destroy her and her husband by seizing on any potential scandal.
[….]
Judicial Watchâs strategy is simple: Carpet-bomb the federal courts with Freedom of Information Act lawsuits.

The anti-Rubio ad running in Florida covers how Rubio has the worst attendance of the last fifty years. Then it covers the few votes he has done, mostly rejecting everything FDR and Johnson put in place. It ends with “It’s bad when Marco skips work, worse when he doesn’t”
If you are on the fence it is a solid ad. Plus you have to lived in the swamps for years to not know the guy and his life.

I’m already boycotting poisonous tree frogs.

Kinda like the Nazgul in The Fellowship of the Ring
In the dark corners where hate festers, that is where the Sniffler resides
I’ll take the Nazgul over the GOP, anyday.  At least the Nazgul are fictitious; Republicans actually exist.  Hard to believe, I know.
On that note, these notes:
As with any study of modern elections, weâre limited by sample size. Thatâs one reason that the FiveThirtyEight models give Trump roughly a 15 percent chance of winning instead of zero. But a Trump comeback would be like nothing weâve ever seen before.

Listening to Hillary give a speech in Las Vegas. Â She keeps saying when they go low we go high — so when is she going to go high?
The wheels are falling off the Trump campaign. The polls are starting to reflect it. If you haven’t taken a look at the latest Washington Post, you should go do it. The Marquette University law School did a four day poll that shows that Hoosiers are fleeing from Trump and Quinnipiac’s latest poll shows that Independents are fleeing from trump. Be interesting to see what the Bulls do now that there what, 3 more people coming out to say that Trump has groped them or forced kisses on them consistent with what he told Billy bush. And of course there’s the rape case…
BBC is reporting 2 more trump-grope victims.
It’s time for HRC to lift the Dem Sen candidates in NV, AZ, MO, NC, FL, PA, and NH. IL, WI, & IN are safely in the bag. A pick up of 9 would be thrilling.
