‘Good job Jeff’: Trump blames Sessions as Republicans charged before midterms
    [….]

On Monday, Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska, a frequent Trump critic, said: “The United States is not some banana republic with a two-tiered system of justice – one for the majority party and one for the minority party.

“These two men have been charged with crimes because of evidence, not because of who the president was when the investigations began.”

  2. in this morning’s wapo:
Two months ahead of the midterm elections, Democrats hold a clear advantage over Republicans in congressional vote support, with antipathy toward President Trump fueling Democratic enthusiasm, even among those in the party who stayed home four years ago, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds.

The survey also points to broad unrest and frustration with the political system generally. More than 6 in 10 Americans say Trump and the Republican Party are out of touch with most people in the country. While Democrats fare better, a narrower 51 percent majority also judged them out of touch.

Registered voters say they favor the Democratic candidate over the Republican candidate in their district by 52 percent to 38 percent. That is a marked increase from the four-point edge in an April Post-ABC poll but similar to the 12-point advantage Democrats enjoyed in January.

  3. He forgot to use the ~flaming tildes~ of sarcasm.

I look forward to watching GoOPerz who have supported Trumpsky (or who have kept mum) scramble to distance themselves from the giant, orange mess when they realize they will continue to lose control of seats because of him.

Not many Repugz have had the balls to stand up to Trump…and a couple of them have been women.

Dems like Schumer & Pelosi look weak, though.  C’mon & get tough!

  4. Poobah,  the site’s back to its old self as a well oiled machine.

Patd, re your last post from last night, there is no “…est” for IMPOTUS.  Any superlative applied to his capacity for stupidity will be shortly surpassed so attempting to come up wit a superlative for anything related to him is a fool’s errand.

Regarding Kavanaugh, it appears he lied to Congress about his lack of any role in the Shrub administration regarding positions and decisions about torture.  That should disqualify him from consideration on the high court.

  5. wapo:
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey plans to appoint former senator Jon Kyl, a fellow Republican, to succeed the late-senator John McCain (R), people familiar with his plans said Tuesday.

Kyl served in the Senate from 1995 until 2013. More recently, he guided President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, as he navigated meetings with senators.

McCain’s widow, Cindy McCain, appeared to confirm the decision on social media, tweeting: Jon “Kyl is a dear friend of mine and John’s. It’s a great tribute to John that he is prepared to go back into public service to help the state of Arizona.”

  6. What are we going to do with the stupid people who continue to enable IMPOTUS.

I hope Ted Cruz loses he is such a despicable git

  7. The clip of Gov Greg Abbott at a gathering for Tedious Cruz this weekend could’ve been mistaken for a klan rally.   Many of those folks are prolly busy lighting their Nikes on fire today.

  8. pogo – I hope you are correct about Kavanaugh lying about his time during the Bush admin being enough to rid us of him on the SC.

  9. If Woodward’s info can be verified, doesn’t someone have the responsibility of removing Trumpsky from office?

I mean, we get stuck with Pitence unless Bobby III can roll him up in the Russia investigation…but an idiotic hothead should not be at the helm.

  10. White folks lighting shoes on fire…just like terrorists.

It’s really shameful that they can’t put themselves in someone else’s shoes.

Folks hated Cruz enough to vote for Trump during the primary (per interviews on local TV), otherwise, Kasich would’ve had their votes.   I hope there is a huge blue (brown) wave in November, because red = white, apparently.
