  1. but first, a recap

John Oliver discusses the long week of US presidential election results, including Donald Trump’s various attempts to make the election appear illegitimate, and a historic win for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

  2. back to GA, from politico:

Biden’s narrow Georgia lead was built on the clear, if challenging, path Stacey Abrams laid out in 2018. Abrams, who narrowly lost a run for governor but won Democratic plaudits for her message and talk-to-everybody campaign strategy, energized young voters, registered and turned out record numbers of people of color and peeled away white, college-educated voters in suburban counties, like Cobb and Gwinnett, that turned hard from Republicans in the Trump era.
Abrams, along with the voting-rights group Fair Fight she founded in 2018, also helped expand the electorate since then. Georgia has added 1 million new voters since 2016, thanks to policies allowing voter registration at motor vehicle bureaus as well as efforts by groups like Abrams’. Georgia smashed its own voting record in 2020 with 67 percent of registered voters participating, surpassing the 2008 mark of 63 percent.
In 2019, Abrams wrote that other Democrats could take advantage of the same factors as her history-making campaign, which was “fueled by record-breaking support from white voters and presidential-level turnout and support from the diverse communities of color in our state.”
“All of that foundation [Abrams built] is now what has brought this state into toss-up status for presidential races and for two Senate runoffs,” said Steve Phillips, a Democratic donor and founder of Democracy in Color, a progressive group focused on voters of color. “The blueprint she wrote in 2019 should be a roadmap for the national donor community about how to move resources over the next two months,” who are already lining up on both sides to dump millions of dollars into the race.
According to early exit polls, Biden won 29 percent of white voters, a high-water mark for a Democrat in Georgia, up from 21 percent for Hillary Clinton in 2016. And an analysis of early voting data from Collective PAC, a group focused on growing Black political power, showed that nearly 370,000 Black voters who didn’t vote in 2016 or 2018 showed up in 2020, driving Black turnout higher. Collective PAC targeted that group with 2 million phone calls in the lead up to the election.
Quentin James, founder of Collective PAC, echoed that for Georgia Democrats to win, they need to drive up Black turnout and expand the electorate while seeking support from white voters. But the problem in traditional Democratic politics, James said, “is that significant resources are spent solely on peeling off white voters, and rarely invested in both strategies equally.”

What “Abrams has shown is you can both talk to rural white voters and engage Black men, and you can do it equally,” James added.

“It’s got to be ‘both-and’ — you have to both persuade and energize,” said former state Sen. Jason Carter, the grandson of former President Jimmy Carter and the 2014 Democratic gubernatorial nominee. “We are an evenly divided state, so every vote matters. If you turn someone out who wouldn’t otherwise vote, that’s one vote, and if you change’s someone’s mind, it’s two votes — all of those add up.”

  3. xrep – Glad you are negative for the virus & hope Sweetie is on the mend.  Two cousins have tested positive for 7 weeks (still quite fatigued), but their mother never tested positive.   She had knee surgery last week; still negative.  Weird stuff.

TT –  PBS is starting a series on how the Nazis came to power.  Think it may start on Tuesday, but I can’t recall.  Anyway, more depth than Rick Steves’ travelogue, to be sure.

  4. XR,  so relieved you’re negative and I hope for a mild course and quick recovery for your sweetie.
Thanks for the kudos for Bama getting it done, but really, we’re grateful to ND since they rolled us to the top spot in the polls – after all, we were idle this weekend. 💁🏻‍♂️

  5. If anyone needs to do some “reaching out” the gop needs to reach out to black and latino voters if they ever expect to win anything again.   Georgia has set a strong example.

  6. Somebody on Twitter:
Memo to Democrats: 1. Trump has not conceded 2. GSA Administrator has refused to sign off on transition 3. Ken Starr is laying groundwork for faithless electors to defy the popular vote Numbers 2 & 3 need attention ASAP. It’s still a fight.

  7. The only Latino voters the Repugz reached were Cuban-Americans afraid of “socialism,” which is the same garbage my  relative in CA  spouted.  If Joe can make any headway with green jobs, the only thing left is “socialism.”  Rubio will run and make that his rallying cry, as will Cruz and George P Bush.    The only way tRUMPsky’s spawn have a party is if they throw one themselves.  That would peel off Repug votes.  Hey, maybe they are useful…if they aren’t in exile or jail.

  8. Repugz have seen how hated tRUMPsky is across the country and the world.  If they try some EC crap, there would be a national strike.
Not only that, but the business leaders/Wall Street have already been working on getting SFB to stand down.
The only one who wants a second term is Orange Julius and his fragile ego.
Republicans didn’t jump ship fast enough.  They propped him up during impeachment and SCOTUS, so their brand is ruined.
    NO MORE REPUBLICANS, EVER.

  9. Good news: Network TV learned from 2016 debacle, embraced substance in 2020 Report confirms U-turn

Why so little substance coverage four years ago? Combined, the three network newscasts slotted 100 minutes for reporting on Hillary Clinton’s emails while she served as secretary of state, compared to 32 minutes for policy positions. The networks didn’t have enough time to cover the Clinton emails and substance, so they chose the emails.
A 2016 study released from Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy confirmed that during the week of the Democratic national convention, just four percent of Clinton news coverage centered on all her policy and issues. Twice as much coverage that week was about her emails.
Thankfully in 2020, we saw a news correction. It’s interesting that when the campaign press focuses on substance, the Democrat wins.

  10. 2. GSA Administrator has refused to sign off on transition 3. Ken Starr is laying groundwork for faithless electors to defy the popular vote

sturge, that’s really worrisome.  why isn’t it getting more attention – on the other hand more attention might further insight the magats madness.  over heard one vote-stealer chanter on news calmly saying “if civil war so be it”

  11. X-R, good news on recent neg test. are they going to follow up with more?  given the less than perfect reliability of some tests, more than one negative need to be done.

BTW, a young strapping niece of mine in ID is just pulling out of a short but arduous bout with the bug. however she continues to be fatigued and with diminished sense of taste and smell.

  12. patd – WashPo named the political hack in an article.  They also point out she is refusing Congressional requests for information regarding the Old Post office lease, hiding what are possible illegal payments to SFB.

  13. BB, tha WAPO story that mentioned her, GSA admin emily murphy, also pointed to GSA hanky-panky re  the old FBI building vs D’ump hotel:

Trump has personally intervened in the most prominent real estate project in the agency’s entire portfolio: the plan to build a new FBI headquarters that would allow the bureau out of the crumbling and insecure J. Edgar Hoover Building. During his first year in office, Trump and the GSA abruptly canceled a bipartisan plan to build a new suburban headquarters for the agency, infuriating Democrats who had worked more than a decade on the project and who alleged that Trump canceled the project so a competing hotel could never be built in place of the Hoover building, a site down the street from his hotel.

  14. Of course, in a “normal” election the loser concedes, GSA releases funds, transition begins. I’m sure Biden camp has plenty of money, can wait for the fed payment, which is about $6 million I think

  15. i agree the GSA delay isn’t an obstacle for joe with plenty of $$ cushion and old hands that already know the ropes.   it’s the faithless elector scheme by barr that’s really troubling.

  16. Playing catch-up after taking yesterday off from politics.  Xrep…  so glad you are negative…  all the best to Sweetie.

I saw an interview on MSNBC with Nicole Wallace and Rick Wilson about a month ago.  She directly asked him if the LP would go back and fight for the GOP after this election.  He said…  as long as the GOP was a product of Trump and Trumpism…  no…  he and LP would continue to fight for the country.

  17. For those who care, here’s a link to a Time article detailing the various lawsuits filed related to the ballot procedures in those states Dumbass can’t admit losing in.  Tio sum it up as Neal Katyal noted – to put it in legal terms, Trump has bupkus.

As to the Dumbass campaign – Ghouliani summed their wrongheaded notion of elections up well after he was informed that the networks had called PA for Biden (while Trudy was giving that idiotic rambler of a speech in the Four Seasons Total Landscaping parking lot. “Come on, don’t be ridiculous,” Giuliani said. “Networks don’t get to decide elections. Courts do.” Well, not since 2000.

  18. Welcome to the 21st century  ……………….

First-Ever Flu Vaccine Derived From Tobacco Plants Just Smashed Clinical Trials

    CLARE WATSON
    9 NOVEMBER 2020

A new flu vaccine grown in plants has been put to the test in two large-scale clinical trials, a first for vaccine research.
The vaccine contained virus-like particles which resembled circulating flu strains, extracted from native Australian tobacco relatives that were genetically instructed to produce the viral proteins.

  19. Old man, that’s a case of progressively downcast diehards at the blowhard’s party, cushioning the fall with the blowhard’s booze.  Sounds like a great party.

  20. The psychologists who studied the seekers attributed their rationalizations to the discomfort of cognitive dissonance: When a true believer is faced with “undeniable evidence” that what he believes is wrong, he “will frequently emerge, not only unshaken, but even more convinced of the truth of his beliefs than ever before. Indeed, he may even show a new fervor about convincing and converting other people to his view.”
The question of whether Trumpism has a long-term future in the GOP will be debated at length in the coming months. What’s certain is that it won’t be vanquished by Trump’s impending defeat alone—if anything, his most devoted supporters may be further radicalized.

  21. Job-seeking Trump officials likely to get chilly reception on K Street

“I think for lower-level people, if working for Trump is their only card, that’s a very weak card to play,” a former George W. Bush aide said. “There are some people who have built a career in Washington, and the Trump stink can be washed off. But if your only résumé item is working for Trump, I think you’re basically un-hirable.”

  22. Ever since we got the news about Trebek , I have had  this ear worm in my head –

“Weird Al” Yankovic – I Lost On Jeopardy (Official Video)

    YouTube thumbnail
  23. Well, i just realized that Weird Al’s “Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota” is a loose parody of Paul Simon’s “Graceland”.

  24. Presidential library? A couple of thumb drives should do it. Just download his Twitter bullshit.

  25. The Lincoln Project needs to get on the moron in the White House for being the biggest loser ever and a sore loser at that

  26. We are freezing now and can’t light our wood stove because there has been no rain. Too bad we only have one dog now

  27. CNN: HUD Secretary Ben Carson, who now has coronavirus, attended the election night party where chief of staff Mark Meadows and almost every other attendee was not wearing a mask. Several inside the West Wing subsequently tested positive.

  28. LOL.  Morons.  From WaPo.

“Stop! The! Count!” they chanted Wednesday afternoon outside the TCF Center in Detroit.

“Count! The! Votes!” they chanted Wednesday night outside the Maricopa County Elections Department in Phoenix.

“A lot of shenanigans,” Trump said from the White House briefing room Thursday.

Indeed. Top Trump lieutenants deployed to various cities in navy windbreakers with their names embroidered. The campaign set up a fraud hotline, which was eventually swamped with prank calls. They sent out desperate fundraising pleas for its legal defense fund. On his podcast, Steve Bannon, Trump’s former adviser, called for the beheading of Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading expert on infectious diseases.

    Shenanigans?  Malarkey.

  29. Pence & Dumbass, falsely taking credit where no credit is due. LSOSs.

Mike Pence has broken his post-election silence to trumpet the Trump administration’s backing of a new coronavirus vaccine – only for the company to immediately point out that the research and development of their vaccine had nothing to do with the government.

Pfizer announced on Monday morning that their Covid-19 vaccine was 90 per cent effective, in early trials.

“HUGE NEWS: Thanks to the public-private partnership forged by President @realDonaldTrump, @pfizer announced its Coronavirus Vaccine trial is EFFECTIVE, preventing infection in 90% of its volunteers,” tweeted Mr Pence.

Nikki Haley, Mr Trump’s former UN ambassador, also claimed that the Pfizer work was down to Mr Trump, saying: “Many thanks”.
Seemingly unaware that Pfizer had very publicly rejected federal funds, she said: “This will be one of the most important action items done by the administration in response to this pandemic.”

Dr Kathrin Jansen, Pfizer’s head of vaccine development, told the New York Times: “We were never part of the Warp Speed … We have never taken any money from the US government, or from anyone.”

Pfizer later clarified that they were considered “part” of Warp Speed, because the US government had placed an order for a potential vaccine. But they received no funding for its development, unlike their rivals.

    Honest  to god…

  30. I suppose ole Ben washed his hands with any old soap that was in the men’s room before surgery and figured it was good enough since all those bacteria that cause infection aren’t big enough to see so he figured they weren’t worth worrying about? The irony of the only credible doctor in the cabinet getting Covid-19 after going to a WH vanity event and not wearing a mask is just too rich for me. Raises Karma to a level not seen before.

  31. Don’t trust Mitch or any other gooper. They are still saying Dems are communists

  32. Is there nothing Dumbass can’t fuck up?

President Trump announced the ouster of Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper on Monday, marking the exit of Trump’s fourth Pentagon chief and naming a senior intelligence official to take his place.

“Mark Esper has been terminated. I would like to thank him for his service,” the president said on Twitter.

Trump said that Christopher Miller, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, would immediately become acting defense secretary. “Chris will do a GREAT job!” Trump said.

Esper’s firing, expected since at least June but announced suddenly as Trump continues to contest the results of the presidential election, plunges the Pentagon into another period of leadership upheaval as military officials seek to reorient the military toward threats emanating from Asia and navigate political tensions at home.

I see this as a gambit to try and use the military to keep him in the White House on Jan. 20, 2021.  I hope I’m wrong, but I fear I’m right.

  33. Pogo – he dispels the concept that being a skilled surgeon means being really smart in many areas.  Nope.  He is a stupid as a brick, except he can operate a scalpel. No sympathy at all, even if it kills him.  He was supposed to be smart but proved otherwise.

  34. Ben Carson just as stupid as Herman Cain    I guess he doesn’t see dead people

  35. It’s fine for Biden  Harris to talk about bringing people together but the rest of us need to act on the facts about the dirty disgusting goopers especially Moscow Mitch
    Lincoln project needs to stay on these people labeling them with the Trump stink they put out;

  36. Hey x president fat ass   I’m still hearing about covid 19 — 1000 deaths a day — go away

  37. “ I see this as a gambit to try and use the military to keep him in the White House ” -Pogo

…or just simple, spiteful, petty revenge.

    * supports a strong military, so he’ll throw it into disarray for 2-3 months!🇺🇸

  38. Because you just can’t make this $hit up …

Man featured at Giuliani press conference is a convicted sex offender

The first person Rudy Giuliani, the attorney for President Donald Trump, called up as a witness to baseless allegations of vote counting shenanigans in Philadelphia during a press conference last week is a sex offender who for years has been a perennial candidate in New Jersey.

“It’s such a shame. This is a democracy,” Daryl Brooks, who said he was a GOP poll watcher, said at the press conference, held at Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Northeast Philadelphia. “They did not allow us to see anything. Was it corrupt or not? But give us an opportunity as poll watchers to view all the documents — all of the ballots.”

  39. Poor ole’ Daryl  has found his home  …………………….

Brooks continued to deny the charges he was convicted of, alleging the victims were the children of neighborhood drug dealers he had targeted in his community activism. He also alleged Trenton politicians he criticized played a role as well.
“I went to prison for three-and-a-half years. That’s what they said I was did. I was 25-years-old,” Brooks said. “I was an activist always doing the right thing. They lied on me. The cops set me up.”
The conviction has never been reversed.

  40. This is pretty interesting –
Utah governor orders statewide mask mandate, new coronavirus restrictions

“We cannot afford to debate this issue any longer,” Herbert said. “Individual freedom is certainly important, and it is our rule of law that protects that freedom. Laws are put in place to protect all of us. That’s why we have traffic lights, speed limits and seat belts, and that’s why we now have a mask mandate.”

He added, “It is time for the divisiveness to end, and for all of us as Utahns to unite in making whatever sacrifices are necessary to help our neighbor, and to bring healing back to our state.”

  41. An emerging pundit meme  …………… “The Democrats In Fighting”.
As the ground splits open  and  the Republican Party  falls into a  fiery  pit of Hell. of their own making.

  42. Moscow Mitch proving he has no interest in working with Democrats and is denying Biden won

  43. Oldguy, you’re right, you can’t make this stuff up – fortunately, as long as Dumbass surrounds himself with the like so Ghouliani, we don’t have to.  I’m betting that ol’ Daryl had a hand in selecting the location for Rudy’s rant – I understand it’s very close to a sex shop.  Only the best people.

  44. On a lighter note, I just enjoy seeing a president (elect for a few more days) smiling.  After four years of a shrunken orange looking like a bad case of indigestion and constipation, Biden’s smile is wonderful to see.

The hat is “We Just Did”

  45. That Michelle Bachmann video could be remixed into a really good EDM song, O. Hertz🧑‍🎤

  46. Looks like Bachmann is working as a speech writer for Moscow Mitch, Giant asshole -Kentucky

  47. So I’ve been  watching the collapse of the coal business.   It’s  picking up speed,  the only thing dying faster than coal fired power plants  is covid victims.

APS offering $144M to Arizona tribes and others affected by coal plant closures

    Plan has many components
The “Just Energy Transition” plan for the Navajo Nation that APS filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission on Friday includes:

$100 million to be paid over 10 years.
Building power lines 2,000 feet into Navajo land at no cost to homeowners.
Studying whether longer power lines are appropriate.
$10 million paid over a decade for home and business electrification projects.
Issuing a request for proposals to build 250 megawatts of renewable energy onNavajo land.
Within a year of closing the Four Corners Power Plant, seeking another 350 megawatts of renewable energy on or near Navajo land.
$2.5 million annually, paid by shareholders from APS transmission revenue, starting the earlier of the plant retirement or 2032, through 2038.
$1.25 million in shareholder dollars to be paid over five years for economic development projects.
Supporting the Navajo Nation’s pursuit of water rights in the San Juan River for water used today to cool the Four Corners Power Plant and San Juan Generating Station. APS does not own those rights.

  48. Another  huge development  on this front –
It has finally dawned on the developers of renewable energies  to go down the hydrogen path of storage ,  case in point –

Green Hydrogen Nail, Meet Shale Gas Coffin (& Nuclear Could Be Next)

If US President-Elect Joe Biden doesn’t do the fossil fuel industry any favors, he’ll only be following in the footsteps of outgoing President* Donald J. Trump. Intentionally or not, Trump has already overseen the demise of the domestic coal, oil, and natural gas industries. The latest development occurred right around Election Day, when a $7 billion, 20-year plan to export liquid natural gas from the US to France suddenly evaporated. That could have something to do with the launch of a new investor-driven green hydrogen R&D center in Europe, and Trump’s own Department of Energy is determined to mirror the hydrogen angle right here in the US.

    https://cleantechnica.com/2020/11/08/green-hydrogen-nail-meet-shale-gas-coffin-nuclear-could-be-next/

  49. They are now forming circular firing squads .

Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue of Georgia called on the state’s GOP secretary of state to resign on Monday, citing “failures” in the election process but not providing any specific evidence to support their claims.
“There have been too many failures in Georgia elections this year and the most recent election has shined a national light on the problems,” Loeffler and Perdue said in a joint statement. “The Secretary of State has failed to deliver honest and transparent elections. He has failed the people of Georgia, and he should step down immediately.”

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/09/loeffler-perdue-georgia-secretary-state-resign-435484

  50. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger responded in a statement ……..

“I know emotions are running high. Politics are involved in everything right now,” Raffensperger said. “If I was Senator Perdue, I’d be irritated I was in a runoff. And both Senators and I are all unhappy with the potential outcome for our President. But I am the duly elected Secretary of State. One of my duties involves helping to run elections for all Georgia voters. I have taken that oath, and I will execute that duty and follow Georgia law.”

  51. Loeffler is the one that allegedly made a killing on stock shorts in January after getting privileged COVID briefings the general public couldn’t, while simultaneously playing down the virus threat, right?

  52.  The first American gold rush happened  in North Carolina , not long after that  there was one in Georgia.  All the while, the demand for American cotton was  racing ahead like NASCAR  at Talladega .
All this pressure  gave us the “Indian Removal Act”. It’s been over 180 years since Georgia  had a “Free and Fair Election”.
The Part “B” of the 2020 Election  will happen on  Jan 5th 2021.

  53. Bink, yes, same Loeffler. She and Perdue both traded on insider information about the virus.

The only failure I saw in the Georgia election apparatus was its failure to deliver Loeffler and Perdue outright wins, which of course is a success, not a failure.

But speaking  of failures – there’s the daily death count for the Trump Virus, which has gone up 21.2% in the last 7 days, and is up by about 33% in the last 5 weeks – from about 750 to 1000.  Hospitalizations are up 18.1% in the past week, and the rate of positive results is now at 8%, which if memory serves, is up from just above 5% 2 months ago.  Turned the corner – into oncoming traffic on a one way street.  The  only silver lining is that it’s going through the WH like mono through a high school.

  54. Same Loffler. Appointed to the senate seat and married to the president of the stock exchange

  55. “ Appointed to the senate seat and married to the president of the stock exchange ”

    Well, that’s convenient!

  56. Here’s a headline –

“Black Women in Georgia  Change America”
They have the bit in their teeth .  They are going to get their “40 Acres, and a Government Mule”.  That is 57 days away.

  57. Dayum, Dumbass is cleaning house like he just moved in rather than is packing to move out.  Wapo.

The White House removed the official in charge of the federal program that produces the government’s definitive reports on climate change Friday evening, according to three sources familiar with the situation.

The official, Michael Kuperberg, a climate scientist who had been executive director of the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) since July 2015, was sent back to his previous position as a scientist at the Department of Energy. He had been expected to stay on through the production of the fifth edition of the congressionally-mandated National Climate Assessment.

The climate assessment examines the present-day harms that climate change is having on the U.S. and makes projections about future damage down to the local level from greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels.
    (Continues).

Gee, I wonder why he’d make that change?  Energy sector employees can’t vote now can they?

  58. Lawyer Pogo –
I was amazed this morning on the news of Bidens 4  Points to attack first …………
    The Virus
    The Economy
    The  Racial Divide
    The Climate

  59. The fact that my hobby horse was #4  was bitter sweet , I didn’t think I’d ever see it rise that high in my life time.
It’s 40 years too late,  but it’s there.  Trust me it’s moving up the charts with a bullet.

  60. Commenter dbard7 at Wapo posted this. Republican Party motto:  Come for the racism, stay for the stupid! I love it.

  61. Biden’s first act as President  on the topic of Climate, reach out to all those coal miners , and power plant workers . The Fossil Heads.
Throw them a lifeline.  And do it on U-tube  with videos.
Take Trump’s twitter  move.  And blow it up , pictures , sound,   a story to tell.

  62. Oldguy, I agree – Climate is #4 with a bullet.  Getting attention here – nice run of Indian summer – it was 75 F. today and the forecast high for tomorrow is 79 F.  In No-frigging-vember.  LP played golf today in shorts and short-sleeved polo.  Gonna have to read up on this green hydrogen thing – first I’ve heard of it, but I don’t get around much.

  63. Yep, OM.  Give the displaced and marginalized in the fossil fuel industry something better/greener to work for and that will relieve some of the tension.

  64. OCA needs to  understand  what Lincoln said  to General Grant –
    “Let em up easy”.
If Grant had hung Lee for treason , and he had a good case for it , the war  would have gone on and on.
Sadly treason is in the  ether.

  65. Another item I never thought I would live to see  =
    Four more states legalized pot.

On August 6 , 1967  I was arrested in a pot raid , I was the 17 year old  unidentified youth in the paper the next day.
At that time,  possession of pot in Texas had the death penalty in some cases.
At that time in Lubbock, Buddy Holly was still seen as that nigger lovin’ , motorcycle riding punk . That got what was coming to him .

That was the Face of MAGA.

  66. Pogo…  it was in the 70s here in NH.  Rick and I had lunch at a much loved diner today because we could sit outside on the patio.

  67. A woman just free climbed  El Capitan  in 21 hours  , …………… 3, 000 feet straight up.

    Somewhere John Muir is smailing.

  68. The new host of  Jeopardy will be Ken Jennings.

That is my bet , he’s been on the payroll for months.  A smart move by the producers.  The viewers love Ken.  And a real vote for “Facts”, in a “Factless World”.  “facts” made Ken rich.

  69. Take note: it’s not the transition money Trump wants to prevent, it’s the access to federal info, contracts, intel and other operations he fears turning over to a Biden team that will quickly find the crimes he has committed.

  70. Pecos

At the time of the conquest , Pecos was the richest part of what we call New Mexico.   They were a bit like Venice in the 14th century.  Easy access to the West to the goods of the Rio Grande, easy access to the East  to the  buffalo hunters , and horse thieves.
They got very rich at this time .
They had a low stone ring  around the  pueblo , at sunset all the traders had to leave the ring of stones.  Later , this field was the last rest stop on the Santa Fe Trail  before you reached Santa Fe.
There is great old church there , and the largest kiva  in America.  And that circle of low stones.  It’s just off I 25 .  An American movie star , and her husband saved the entire site.  Later Don Imus moved in .

  71. He can’t hide it forever.  tRUMPsky is going down and taking his evil spawn with him.

  72. Let the  NY  AG  guys take him down.  Not the Feds.
All the wing nuts hate New York , if the Feds go after him , he becomes a  victim  of Joe .

If the Manhattan DA nails him it’s Sam Waterston.  And  det. Brisco .

  73. Been watching HBO’s The Undoing. Good stuff. Donald Sutherland does GREAT anguished old man. And Nicole Kidman does GREAT … !!! I envy Keith Urban for three things. He has great guitar skills. He has great hair. And he has Nicole Kidman (although truth be told I’d never trade Mrs. P on that count).

    Like Mr Merryweather

  75. The GOP  is full of people who never  had a prom date.  who never heard of Woodstock  before the event.
They are fundamentally angry  about how the world  has passed them bye.

  76. All of this flows back to Roe V Wade,  if it had been  done in congress , we would not be here today.
Roll that marble around your head.
That failure of American democracy  set in motion  Amy in Ruth’s robe.

  77. I really hope someone on Biden’s camp  takes my U-tube  idea to heart.
It’s the 21st century  fireside chat.
Not the 45th Troll  posting in all caps, on dim witter.

  78. Biden has to take the messaging to a higher ground.  Before he makes his moves.  this the only way  we make our way  out of this swamp.  It his gut he knows this .
If there is one thing I hate about AOC , she is completely  ignorant of this fact.  Calling for GOP  heads , ain’t advancing your goal,  history is very clear on this , see Russia .
She needs to  help save jobs  in NYC.

  79. Gandi  never hung anyone .
But he beat the British Empire.  MLK learned that .

After nearly 3 years I plan to learn her name, the next visit.

  81. Biden can take high ground  for decades to come  if he  gets the right people to help.
He knows this in his gut .
This is a chance to de-fang  the snake.

  82. I am in the process  of losing my last teeth (6) , and a bridge that needed them to work.

  83. Some of the best times I ever lived was  here with you folks,
    God Bless you all.
And remember I don’t believe in God.

  84. God –
The Mayan  Kings  used   the “Stinger”  off a Ray  to pierce  their foreskins  to bleed onto strips of paper.  Which were then  burnt  so the smoke could carry their message  to the Gods.
The Mayan Queens did the same thing to their lady parts.

That is old time religion .
It did not  save them , from themselves.

  85. Owww!!!!! Shit. Not doing that. If that’s what god wants, I guess it’s so god can … ummmm … screw himself/herself. If so he or she can do that without me and mine. Goddammit, how stupid.

  86. How were the great works  of the past built ?
    Slaves and God.
See the US Capital.  Slaves and a deep belief in God built the first one.

  87. AOC has been vindicated more than once, and was one of the few surrogates that could speak to Berniecrats to help GOTV for Biden, and she did so.  She is an easy target for racist Republicans because she is a outspoken woman of color- the Republican’s worst nightmare (besides a gay son).

If she is calling for justice in response to overt criminality at the highest levels, she is, once again, not wrong🤷‍♂️

  88. “AOC has TWO last names- SHE CAN’T BE TRUSTED.”

  92. The hideous acts of Barr are making me shudder.  Trump is hideous but the toadies supporting himself could bring down the house around our ears.

  93. jamie, yep, big bad barr on the warpath.

    business insider:

The Department of Justice’s top official in charge of investigating election crimes resigned Monday after Attorney General William Barr released a memo ignoring long-standing policy meant to prevent the DOJ from interfering in elections.

Richard Pilger, the director of the Department of Justice’s elections-crime branch, stepped down just hours after Barr sent a memo to federal prosecutors authorizing them to open investigations into “substantial allegations” of election fraud before states had certified their results, which violates department policy, The New York Times reported. There is no evidence to back up any claims of widespread fraud.
