    Surely something will get them out of government; Trumpsky separated from his children by different jail cells.  Now, wouldn’t that just be karma for the kids at the border.

    It seems that most Gooperz  don’t realize that he has destroyed their brand with all but the alt-right.   They will be ashamed of themselves for supporting the anti-American agenda of Trumpsky.

    Trump is anti-American.  McConnell, Ryan, and most of the Repugz are anti-American.  They are only pro-what’s-in-it-for-me.  If any of them were ACTUALLY Christians, they wouldn’t behave this way.

  22. Craig – you are right.  A lot of people face strange endings in jail, not much protection there.  From the little I have seen about Manafort gives me not much hope he is the jail survivor type anyhow.

    Update: Paul Manafort was ordered locked up ahead of his two trials for bank fraud and money laundering.
    U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson in Washington revoked Manafort’s bail Friday after prosecutors said Manafort, President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman, attempted to tamper with witnesses for his trial.
    Jailing him before trial adds to the pressure Manafort faces to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller and spill any secrets he knows about Trump and the campaign. Confronting possible criminal charges in New York, Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen may have a similar choice ahead of him. Cohen hasn’t been accused of wrongdoing.
    Prosecutors made the Manafort detention request on June 4, when they argued in court papers that he tried to tamper with two witnesses after he was indicted in Washington for a second time on Feb. 23. Four days later, a grand jury indicted Manafort anew, accusing him and an associate of witness tampering. Manafort has pleaded not guilty.
    Jackson said she had no way to stop Manafort from contacting people while he’s out on bail.
    “This is not middle school,” she told lawyers. “I can’t take his cellphone.”

    The New York Court Appeals denied Donald Trump’s motion to dismiss the Summer Zervos defamation lawsuit against him. This is the third time the president has tried and failed to get the case tossed or delayed, reports ABC News.
    Thursday‘s decision allows discovery in the case to move forward — something that Trump‘s legal team likely fears because it could force the president to testify about his treatment of women, among other things, under oath.

    Trump still has another appeal pending, but Thursday’s ruling basically means Zervos’s attorneys can keep gathering evidence — which could eventually lead to Trump being deposed in the case.
    Trump isn’t totally out of options. The court’s decision didn’t rule on the merits of Trump’s argument — whether state courts don’t have jurisdiction over the president — and instead said it couldn’t yet rule on because the lower court hasn’t made a final decision on the president’s motions.
    “The Court of Appeals did not address the merits of the issue at stake here (an issue first raised by the U.S. Supreme Court in Clinton v. Jones) — namely, that, under the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution, state courts do not have jurisdiction over a sitting President,” a spokesperson for the president’s attorney, Marc Kasowitz, said in a statement to ABC News.
    The Zervos lawsuit may seem minor compared to some of Trump’s potential legal troubles. But if it does go forward, the discovery process could reveal evidence about allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump, and, if it gets that far, force the president into a deposition.
    It might also matter to the just-filed New York attorney general’s lawsuit against Trump and his charity. As University of Texas law professor Steve Vladeck pointed out on Twitter, it could also cement “the propriety of the major new suit by [New York state Attorney General] being brought in state — rather than federal — court.”

    Daniels claims to have had a sexual relationship with Trump. In October 2016, Cohen set up a limited liability corporation, Essential Consulting, that was used to pay Daniels as part of a hush agreement. Cohen was reimbursed by the president.
     
    Cohen has been under the microscope since FBI agents raided residences and an office belonging to him on 9 April.
     
    Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, a day of high political drama, Trump said Cohen was “not my lawyer any more”.
     
    “I always liked Michael Cohen,” the president said. “I haven’t spoken to Michael in a long time.”
     
    He added: “No, he’s not my lawyer any more. But I always liked Michael, and he’s a good person.”

    China will slap hefty tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation for President Trump‘s decision to levy duties on $50 billion worth of Chinese imports.
    Beijing will impose an additional 25 percent tariff on a total of 659 U.S. imports worth about $50 billion, according to a statement on country’s Ministry of Finance website.
    The first batch of tariffs will hit 545 U.S. products worth about $34 billion, including agricultural products, such as soybeans, corn and wheat, automobiles, beef, pork and seafood, and will start July 6.
    hina then plans to levy the tariffs on 114 more U.S. products including oil, gas, coal and medical equipment that will start at a later date.
    China’s Ministry of Commerce had promised swift retaliation after Trump announced the tariffs on Friday morning.
    Trump said that if China counter his move he would consider additional tariffs.

    U.S. prosecutors reconstructed 16 pages of shredded documents that were part of the material seized April 9 from President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen.

    The government said it also obtained 731 pages of messages, including call logs, from applications such as WhatsApp and Signal, which encrypt data, and about 315 megabytes from a BlackBerry. The material is the most recent to be produced to Cohen’s legal team out of more than 3.7 million items taken in the FBI search of his home, hotel room and office.

    The information was contained in a letter updating the judge who is overseeing the review of the seized files. Lawyers for the government on Friday detailed files that were turned over to Cohen’s team in the last two days. Both sides asked U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood to give Cohen’s legal team 10 days to review the new material.

    Epner said that while the encrypted messages may not prove incriminating, the 16 pages of reconstructed shredded documents seemed “more likely to be a problem for Mr. Cohen.”

    Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team scored a procedural victory Friday in its case against a Russian company accused of bankrolling a vast campaign to meddle in the 2016 election, successfully fighting back an effort to review the instructions given to grand jury before it indicted the company.
    Federal Judge Dabney Friedrich rejected a request by the Russian company, Concord Management and Consulting, that asked her to examine the instructions provided to the grand jury. Concord accused Mueller’s prosecutors of giving faulty instructions, tainting the grand jury’s decision to approve charges.
    Concord had sought the judge’s review of the grand jury instructions so it could later build an argument alleging due process violations. The company plans to eventually file a motion to drop the indictment.

    The judge also signaled that a protective order would ultimately be imposed in the case as the discovery phase begins and both sides start sifting through millions of digital records. Mueller’s team had asked for a sweeping protective order that would restrict how Concord handles documents and what would get shared with the other defendants. But Friedrich said she preferred a middle-ground approach.
