Majid Dastjani Farahani, an Iranian intelligence officer, is wanted for questioning in connection with the recruitment of individuals for various operations in the United States, to include lethal targeting of current and former United States Government officials as revenge for the killing of IRGC-QF Commander Qasem Soleimani. Farahani also reportedly recruited individuals for surveillance activities focused on religious sites, businesses, and other facilities in the United States. Farahani acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security.
The FBI is on a manhunt for an Iranian intelligence officer allegedly overseeing a plot to assassinate current and former federal government officials as revenge for the Trump administration’s 2020 airstrike killing of an Iranian military official.
Last Friday, the agency’s Miami field office issued an alert that Majid Dastjani Farahani “is wanted for questioning in connection with the recruitment of individuals for various operations in the United States.” Those operations, the alert adds, include the assassinations of “current and former United States Government officials as revenge for the killing of IRGC-QF Commander Qasem Soleimani.”

Farahani, the Iranian intelligence officer sought by the FBI, “also reportedly recruited individuals for surveillance activities focused on religious sites, businesses and other facilities in the United States,” the FBI alleges. “Farahani acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security.”
According to the FBI alert, Farahani is 41 years old, has brown and gray hair, brown eyes, and speaks Farsi, English, Spanish and French. He also “has ties to or may visit Iran and Venezuela,” the agency adds.
The outlet Semafor reports that Farahani’s plot specifically focuses on Trump-era officials, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Brian Hook, who worked as Trump’s special envoy for Iran. Citing unnamed U.S. officials, Semafor reports that both men are being provided with around-the-clock security due to the nature of the threat.

Will Orange Adolf agree to debate POTUS Joe?
Hayley should’ve gone harder after Adolf and said she would get out IF he could win a debate against her.
The more I hear/see of Adolf, the more he seems like a narcissist with Sundown Syndrome, probably due to early dementia.
The GOP doesn’t care; they want to institute the plan laid out in Project 2025. That happens with or without Adolf.
It’s interesting how Adolf made it sound like he owns SCOTUS and that the little extra bit, beyond just answering the question before them, was all about him. Oh, wait. He does own some of them and they were doing his/Putin’s bidding. Gotta have a Russo-Republican Congress, too.

“strengthen his voice starting today”
BiD, it would help in the meantime if his speech writers would use shorter punchier sentences. joe does better and has more force in his voice using quick repartee, clipped humor and less complex presentations. one would think that the pros on the teleprompter could see that brief phrases, sound bites and bumper sticker style fits his ever present stuttering battle. bigger type might also help.
my gripe is not just limited to the speeches (which make me wonder if they’re being paid by the word) but dems always seem to pack too much verbiage and too many issues in their fund-raising letters for him. eyes glaze over. c/mon, man, get to the point!
His numbers. They mean his numbers.
A new Lincoln Project ad will run this weekend in areas including Mar-a-Lago, Richmond, Virginia, and Greensboro, North Carolina, as part of the anti-Donald Trump group’s “Audience of One” strategy seeking to defeat the former President this year.
It’s rife with innuendo and is sure to rile Trump with several pokes and barbs as his momentum gains toward the GOP presidential nomination.
A female narrator begins in the ad, “Why can’t you get over 75% Donald? JoeBiden does.” Her voice is peppered with taunting tones one might hear on a school yard playground.
An image on-screen shows a headline from a post-Michigan Primary story declaring “Trump defeats (Nikki) Haley in Michigan primary, but warning signs appear.”
The story is from The Guardian. The piece notes that Trump received just over 68% of the vote in Michigan, but that he had a “slimmer margin of victory” in Kent County, which is home “to the conservative movement” and “to the conservative mega-donors the DeVoses,” referring to Trump’s former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and her husband, former Amway multilevel marketing company CEO Dick DeVos.
A television anchor is then heard on the ad saying that “both Biden and Trump won, but President Biden is winning by significantly more.” It’s not clear what the reporter is referencing in the ad, though it’s likely in reference to Biden’s Primary performance in Michigan, in which he exceeded 81% of the vote.
But that’s where things take an antagonist turn.
“Why do you have so much trouble getting it up,” the narrator then asks, showing an image of Melania Trump swatting away her husband as he attempts to hold her hand, before clarifying, “your numbers, I mean.”
[continues]
It’s not just cash you’re short on, Donald…
BTW, that article above also said about the LP buy:
The ad will run on Fox News in the targeted areas.
https://www.texastribune.org/2024/03/04/texas-spacex-boca-chica-park-land-swap/
“The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously Monday to pursue an exchange that would give 43 acres of Boca Chica State Park in Cameron County to Elon Musk’s SpaceX spacecraft company.”
“The state park land would be swapped for 477 acres adjacent to Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, an area the agency has been interested in for many years because it’s “one of the most biologically diverse regions in North America” and provides habitat for endangered species and migratory birds, the agency said.”
“Boca Chica, a 1,354-acre park located at Texas’ southernmost point along the Gulf Coast, about 20 miles east of Brownsville, has long been a favorite swimming and fishing destination for the majority Hispanic community in the Rio Grande Valley.”
“…the 43 acres the state is exchanging do not include any water frontage and are surrounded by private properties or existing SpaceX facilities. According to the agency, the land the state is receiving could be used for fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping and birding.”
“Environmental groups and community members are not convinced, pointing out that SpaceX has restricted public access to the beach before.”
“SpaceX did not respond to an emailed request for comment regarding what the land will be used for. Texas Public Radio reports SpaceX has a massive expansion project underway, which includes employee housing and office space.”
Is Musk building a plantation, where non-union employees will owe their souls to the company store?
Every time I hear “super duper” this pops into my brain.
Looks like someone is trying to destroy the a lot of the social media sites on the intertubes right now. FB, YouTube, and dozens more are either down, slow or just funked. For a massive attack like this I think it had to be planned for this day, Super Tuesday, and not based on what has happened in Ukraine or other EU events.
Twenty or twenty-five years ago there were attacks that were good, but due to the way the internet works those were not successful. Today will probably go the the same. Many sites, such as the Trail, are up and running, so it is not a complete attack. Just watching internet traffic, it looks like the attack is mitigating and sites up and running now.
BB, I just went to Youtube and to FB – visited Jamie’s site – without any problems.
It looks like most sites are now accessible and running. When I tried FB a while ago I got invalid password and it sent a series of error messages to my email address. I could get in using MS Edge, but not Firefox.
This reminds me of when the Hunt brothers, semi-smart, decided to corner the silver market. They found out it was bigger than what they could buy. It seems russia found out the internet is bigger than what they could handle. BUT, this might not have worked to day for many reasons. I am sure some of the hackers jobs were to find weak spots that can be attcked in the future. They probably attacked the servers because those are the base of the internet. Due to redundancy of servers and planning for failure this type of attack is bound to lose.
After a Historic Union Vote at Dartmouth, What’s Next for College Sports?
The players’ vote in favor of unionization allows them to collectively bargain with the university over pay, practice hours and other working conditions. But there’s still a long road ahead.
When the ballots were counted Tuesday, Dartmouth’s men’s basketball team had voted to unionize, 13-2, in a historic election on campus in Hanover, N.H. And while this means a ton — for college sports, for athletes’ rights, for the NCAA’s limp grip on amateurism — the process is still far from over.
By voting to unionize, the basketball players are now represented by Service Employees International Union Local 560, which already represents some workers employed by the school. For now, with at least one appeal on the immediate horizon, this enables the players to collectively bargain with Dartmouth over pay, practice hours and other working conditions. All players are in the unit, even the two who voted against unionizing. The vote came a month after Laura A. Sacks, a regional director for the National Labor Relations Board, ruled the players are employees of Dartmouth under the National Labor Relations Act and could therefore hold an election.
The school now has five business days to file an objection to the election results. If an objection is filed, the regional director will decide whether to hold a hearing or dismiss it and certify the results. If no objections are filed, the union will be certified as the players’ bargaining representative. That would have nothing to do with Sacks deeming the players employees. This specific objection would come if Dartmouth felt — or felt it could prove — the local union tried to influence the election by intimidating players into voting yes.
But the much more critical step will be Dartmouth’s inevitable appeal of Sacks’s ruling. The school is expected to file one, though it had not announced its intentions by early afternoon. If no objections are filed and the results are certified March 12, the school would have until March 26 to file the appeal.

I hope POTUS Joe calls out the Russians in Congress, too. MAGAt Mike, with no visible means of support. Hmmm.
It’s a good chance for him to, once again, point out what Republicans actually point to do with Social Security and Medicare.
It’s a chance for him to maneuver them into a budget deal, because a shutdown hurts actual Americans. This isn’t just done game. When there were shutdowns, we had customers who couldn’t pay us because they were filling government contracts and the government wasn’t paying them. It’s not a damned game, Republicans.
Finally, it’s a chance for POTUS Joe to let everyone know about Project 2025, and how dangerous the monsters who now claim to identify as Republicans are to our way of life.
F MAGAts! F tRUMPsky! F Putin!
Biden/Harris 2024!
let’s get some good vibes going this season
Nikki Haley is going to take all that DC primary momentum to big things, tonight 🫥
I just remember them all saying how much they “didn’t trust” Hillary. Where’s their trusty ‘ol distrust-o-meter now? Battery must’a rusted out.
Their “weird humor” is for them to come up with the most absurd, ridiculous, farcical and even grotesque thing they can think of just to see what kind of reaction they can get out of you. When you “react” they got you. That is their punchline. The best reaction I’ve found is to stare at them silently as if they have two heads.
“Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cubanlambasted former President Trump on Tuesday as a “snake oil salesperson” while explaining his decision to back President Biden in the upcoming election.”
“If they were having his last wake, and it was him versus Trump, and he was being given last rites, I would still vote for Joe Biden,” Cuban told Bloomberg on Monday after a meeting at the White House about prescription drug costs.”
“The tech billionaire and Dallas Mavericks minority owner co-founded a company called Cost Plus Drugs in 2022 which aims to bring down prices for generic drugs.”
“Cuban told Bloomberg he supported Nikki Haley, Trump’s lone remaining Republican opponent, in the Texas primary — calling it a “protest vote against Trump.”
Maybe we don’t eat this one, either. At least not right away.
“The strike force, which will be co-chaired by the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), aims to coordinate the Biden administration’s efforts to rein in anti-competitive and unfair practices and lower prices in key sectors including food, prescription drugs and transportation.”
“Republicans have pushed back on the narrative that corporate profiteering is driving inflation — which topped 9 percent in summer 2022 and has steadily fallen to around 3 percent in recent months — contending government spending is actually the culprit. The U.S. is one of many countries to suffer from high inflation in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Nope. Republicans are lying. It’s greedflation and shrinkflation.
Price controls needed to be put in place as soon as the supply chain issues resolved. Actually, when the cost of a shipping container went from $5k to $20k as they did for awhile, that should’ve been nipped in the bud right away.
“…WK Kellogg CEO Pilnick said the company was advertising cereal for dinner to consumers looking for more affordable options.”
“The cereal category has always been quite affordable, and it tends to be a great destination when consumers are under pressure,” Pilnick said. “If you think about the cost of cereal for a family versus what they might otherwise do, that’s going to be much more affordable.”
“Some consumers have called the comments tone deaf from an executive who made more than $4 million last year. They note that boxes of popular cereals now cost more than $7 and cereal is not an adequate substitution for a full dinner.”
https://www.npr.org/2024/01/11/1197961038/the-indicator-from-planet-money-realpage-antitrust-lawsuit-01-11-2024
“Rental prices today are up about 20% higher than they were compared to late 2019, just before the start of the pandemic. And of course, there are a lot of reasons for this – not enough available apartment units, zoning regulations that make new ones hard to build, buying a home is unaffordable. But of all the things that could potentially be driving up rental prices, here’s one that you might not have considered – algorithms.”
“According to more than 20 lawsuits, some of the country’s biggest property management companies are accused of colluding to raise rental prices and not by cutting deals with each other, but by using a particular piece of software.”
“One of the biggest ways the federal government tries to regulate the marketplace is through antitrust law.”
“Collusion is one of those no-brainers. It doesn’t really benefit workers, doesn’t benefit consumers when companies collude on wages or collude on pricing, and invariably a few benefit at the expense of many.”
“And here’s where we get back to the lawsuits against RealPage, the company that makes that algorithmic price-setting software used by landlords and property managers all around the country. Now, a key issue in these cases is whether RealPage’s software is facilitating collusion between landlords, like whether RealPage is the hub and landlords are the spokes.”
“Part of RealPage’s secret sauce is that its pricing algorithm doesn’t just factor in public information, but also private information – information provided by the landlords. And by private information, we’re talking about the kind of info landlords generally want to keep hidden from their competitors – things like vacancy rates, what leases are expiring, what renters actually pay in rent as opposed to what’s advertised. Armed with this data, RealPage’s pitch to landlords is – trust the algorithm, let us do the math. Our software will tell you the optimal price you should charge for any given unit on any given day.”
So, do I have the algorithm to ~thank~ for last year’s $220/month rent increase?
Class action lawsuit?

“Super Tuesday voting mix-up throws spotlight on Texas’ most populous county”
“Kim Ogg, the Democratic district attorney in Harris County, Texas, is raising alarms about voting procedures there after she was turned away from the polls early Tuesday morning because her ballot had already been cast.”
“Ogg, whose name is on Tuesday’s primary ballot, successfully voted later Tuesday, but she told CNN that the incident raises questions about how it happened in the first place, whether similar mistakes have affected voters in the same household and whether local election officials have a system to track such errors”
“Ogg and her partner – Olivia Jordan – do not share a last name, and each had to present identification to vote.”
“I’m the top law enforcement official in the third-biggest jurisdiction in the nation,” Ogg said in a telephone interview. “If it can happen to the district attorney, it can happen to anyone.”
“The incident comes as the county – a Democratic stronghold that includes Houston – remains under scrutiny from Republican state officials. Just last year, the county’s election office was dismantled and its responsibilities shifted to the county clerk and county tax assessor-collector under a law approved by the GOP-controlled state Legislature. A separate statute gave the state the power to order “administrative oversight” of the county’s election administration if there’s evidence of recurring problems.”
“Kellogg’s ‘cereal for dinner’ controversy and price increases spur calls for a boycott”
“The boycott, proposed on TikTok, would run from April 1 to June 30 and calls for customers to purchase products from other companies in order to send Kellogg’s a message during the second quarter of its fiscal year. They’re also demanding that Kellogg’s lower its prices.”
At $6 per box, I started boycotting months ago, I guess.
“Kellogg’s CEO found an angle to exploit an industry-driven food-insecurity crisis to bulk up his company’s profits, but everyday families should not have to make these kinds of choices in the first place,” Liz Zelnick, the director of the economic security and corporate power program at Accountable.US, a left-leaning consumer advocacy group, said in an email to MarketWatch.”
“The solution to what Zelnick called price gouging by the food industry is not for consumers to eat Froot Loops every meal, she said, but for Congress to pressure food companies not to raise prices even as they post near-record profits.”
“…try shopping at local farmers’ markets and maybe skip out on soda and highly processed foods altogether…”
The solution… for Congress to pressure food companies not to raise prices

News tonight to me is how soft Trump is for a quasi-incumbent, leaving about a third of Republicans on the table in most states. And no sign they’ll come his way. Haley voters telling exit pollsters tonight they won’t vote for Trump in November: NC 66%, VA 81%
There’s nothing manufactured about the outrage at prices. Putin may, indeed, also be delighted by it. The two are not mutually exclusive.

F MAGAts! F tRUMPsky!
The best reaction I’ve found is to stare at them silently as if they have two heads.
https://www.axios.com/2024/03/05/mark-cuban-biden-endorsement-trump-snake-oil
Lead plaintiff says she voted for Nikki.
https://thehill.com/business/4507871-biden-strike-force-price-gouging-junk-fees-inflation/
Actually, when the cost of a shipping container went from $5k to $20k as they did for awhile, that should’ve been nipped in the bud right away.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/26/food/kellogg-ceo-cereal-dinner/index.html
“Let them eat Corn Flakes” appears to be Kellogg’s CEO Gary Pilnick’s advice to cash-strapped shoppers who are spending the highest portion of their income on food than at any point in the last 30 years.”
People will feign outrage over anything for social-media clout, these days, guy was just promoting his product
…yeah, two miserable ——s on tiktok, such lazy clickbait
https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/05/politics/texas-voter-id-kim-ogg-houston/index.html
A separate statute gave the state the power to order “administrative oversight” of the county’s election administration if there’s evidence of recurring problems.”
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/kelloggs-cereal-for-dinner-controversy-and-price-increases-spur-calls-for-a-boycott-cdbdfd9b

Sinema’s farewell video.
Yeah, ok…….now stuff a sock in it and go count your money.
Super Tuesday coverage < paint drying.
Team Biden REALLY needs to start feeding practical talking-points to the rank-and-file, the insurrectionists have their disinformation channels SORTED
TX House Speaker, Dade Phelan, is probably going to lose to the Abbott/Paxton candidate, which means Greg will be able to push school vouchers through and destroy what’s left of the public education system in Texas.
On a brighter note, Colin Allred is winning his primary, and I believe he can send Ted Cruz to Cancun on a permanent vacation from the US Senate!
No one here is promoting anything or ever has promoted anything, this place has attained what may be a rare value in an everything-for-sale society
Nice job, Mr. C 🫡
✌️
I really like Katie Porter, but it’ll be Adam Schiff, as expected.
