  1. Gosh, I hope my relatives are listening to Fox instead of right-wing radio.

Apparently, getting vaccinated is part of “woke” culture. When middle-aged, white men use the word “woke” to describe anything they’re told not to like…it’s disgusting.

    Speaking of asses…

“As part of the House select committee’s sweeping investigation, the panel has sent requests for information to a number of federal agencies. The committee has specifically asked for “all documents and communications within the White House” on January 6, including call logs, schedules and meetings with top officials and outside advisers, including Rudy Giuliani.“

“Legal experts say Biden has the ultimate say over whether these documents are covered by executive privilege…”

  3. Moron. Marjorie Taylor Greene hit with third fine for not wearing mask on House

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., an outspoken opponent of masking and Covid-19 vaccination mandates, was fined Monday for a third time over her refusal to comply with House rules about face coverings.

The House Ethics Committee published a notice saying Greene will have to pay a financial penalty for an incident on Sept. 21, when she did not wear a mask on the House floor. The fine is $500 for a first offense and $2,500 for each subsequent violation.

Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., recently complained about her lack of a mask at a House Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Merrick Garland last week.

Greene was defiant in a statement to NBC News on Monday, saying, “I’m taking a stand on the House floor because I don’t want the people to stand alone.”

There are the stupid and then there’s MTG. BTW, when was she restored to her. committee assignments?

  4. Had a talk with a neighbor (retired, white male) who is vaccinated but now refuses to wear a mask because it “sends the wrong message.”  Huh?

How is doing everything that can be done to get ourselves out of this mess, and, look out fir others “sending the wrong message”?

Finally, he said he got his J&J so he’s not worried about himself getting sick and doesn’t care what happens to anyone else. Oh, I see. His message is to be thoughtless and selfish.

  5. pogo, she “audits” from time to time.  in this case she had company:

Rep. Jerry Nadler scolds GOP lawmakers for not wearing masks at House Judiciary hearing (msn.com)

Nadler called out several non-mask-wearing members by name, including Reps. Jim Jordan, the ranking Republican on the committee; Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who is on the committee; and Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who is not.

    […]

The hearing featured testimony from Attorney General Merrick Garland, part of the committee’s oversight of the Justice Department.

Gaetz was seated in the audience next to Greene and Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., who was also maskless. Gaetz and Boebert put masks on after Nadler’s directive. Greene, who has repeatedly objected to the chamber’s mask policy, did not.

probably a GOPer nutballs’ dastardly plot to infect garland

  6. the hill:

The White House is rejecting more claims of executive privilege from former President Trump over documents requested by the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol, directing the National Archives to turn over the Trump-era documents to the committee.

In a new letter obtained by The Hill, White House counsel Dana Remus wrote that Biden consulted with the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel and determined that the former president’s privilege assertion “is not justified.”

President Biden has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified, as to the documents provided to the White House on September 16, 2021, and September 23, 2021,” Remus wrote in a letter to National Archivist David Ferriero on Monday, indicating Trump has made two more such assertions.

    […]

Remus wrote that the National Archives should turn over the pages of documents to the select committee within 30 days of notifying Trump “absent any intervening court order.”

Remus on Monday reiterated the White House’s view that Congress has a “compelling need” to understand the circumstances that led to the Jan. 6 attack and that the constitutional protection of privilege “should not be used to shield, from Congress or the public, information that reflects a clear and apparent effort to subvert the Constitution itself.”

    […]

It’s not clear how Trump will fair in the suit. While the Supreme Court previously ruled during the Nixon era that former presidents have some authority to assert executive privilege, the full scope of the question hasn’t been addressed. A federal judge in D.C. has scheduled a Nov. 4 hearing in Trump’s lawsuit against the committee.

  7. Jaime – I expect the pages to have a lot of black blocks.  There is the possibility a few covert agencies need to cover a few operatives, but not decades of it.

  8. JFK
    Yeah, JFK.
When everyplace you go to wheels around and takes you back there, back to Dallas, 1963.

  9. I walked that whole area in March of 64…..Dealy Plaza, the courthouse, the book bldg, fascinating stuff. I saw Jack Ruby’s mother hollering at the reporters on the courthouse steps. Then I went down the street and saw the movie “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World”.

  10. Every adult who will get vaxxed is vaxxed, we can move on, now

In fact, start shipping their doses to other countries that need them. Half of the dolts will rush to get a shot once they’re told they can’t have one

  11. The good news on the covid trend front is that only 7 states have rising daily reported cases per capita on a 7-day rolling average of daily new reported cases per 100,000 residents. And it looks like Birx is trying to wash the orange stain off.

The Trump administration was “distracted” by last year’s election and ignored recommendations to curb the pandemic, the White House’s former coronavirus response coordinator told congressional investigators this month.

“I felt like the White House had gotten somewhat complacent through the campaign season,” said Deborah Birx, who President Donald Trump chose to steer his government’s virus response, according to interview excerpts released by the House select subcommittee on the pandemic.

Birx, who sat for interviews with the subcommittee on Oct. 12 and 13, also detailed advice that she said the White House ignored late last year, including more aggressively testing younger Americans, expanding access to virus treatments and better distributing vaccine doses in long-term care facilities.

More than 130,000 American lives could have been saved with swifter action and better coordinated public health messages after the virus’s first wave, Birx told investigators.

[And from the Alternative facts, Alternate Reality parallel universe]

“President Trump led an unprecedented effort to successfully combat the coronavirus, delivering PPE, hospital beds, treatments, and three vaccines in record time. Unfortunately, this approach was not taken up by the current government, and more lives have been lost from covid this year than the entirety of 2020, which the Fake News media places no blame onto Joe Biden,” spokeswoman Liz Harrington said in a statement.

    [Continues]

Never mind that case and death counts peaked in December 2020 and January 2021 and began a fairly steep decline as Biden was coming into office, that Biden has harped on and pushed vaccination and mask wearing as hard as or harder than Dumbass tried to act tough about it and wink, wink, nod, nodded vaccine and mask mandates (personal choice my ass) and finally that the 3rd wave we are now in, while still horrific, peaked at about 90,000 fewer cases and 1300 fewer deaths per day than the second wave that Dumbass and his minions ushered in last Fall.

  12. Another comic goes to wherever comics go after they are room temperature.  Mort Saul.  I remember him from many television appearances in the fifties and sixties.  If I remember correctly, he was black listed or things because he had a great wit and it was not appreciated by some.
