Supreme Court has no power in the words of the Constitution to uphold, reject or rule on anything about state or federal laws, executive orders.

Alito saying abortion rights not in Constitution means judicial review invalid, because it’s also not in Constitution.

In Marbury v Madison (1803) the Supreme Court gave itself the right to do judicial review. No “strict constructionist” can honestly justify that.

Biden could say Marbury was wrongly decided and by Executive Order I am protecting abortion rights, which is not reviewable by Supreme Court under a strict interpretation of the Constitution.

    Many Republican legislatures have tried banning the pills from being shipped or prescribed. But some women have been able to circumvent the restrictions by getting their pills online from overseas pharmacies that can’t be reached by U.S. laws. The five-day regimen of tablets usually comes in an unassuming envelope, making it hard to police. With the Supreme Court possibly poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, people seeking abortions in the United States will probably flock to these sources, experts say.

    “This is just not going to be stoppable,” said Gerald Rosenberg, a law professor emeritus at the University of Chicago law school.

  10. patd,  there is no doubt that there will be folks who won’t know how to or be able to access the abortion pills sold online.  I think you’d find that the percentage of teenage girls who don’t have some sort of access to the internet either by themselves or through a friend or family member is exceedingly small, but I could be wrong about that. 

  12. Poobah, of course they did.  Ya pays your money and ya takes your chances. Shows that even the strictest pre-event protocols don’t prevent virus spread at events where masks aren’t practical.  Vaccines don’t prevent the spread (although they do lessen the incidence) and tests are not 100% accurate.

So due to a series of inconvenient events I learned that consistent with WV and Joe’s suppression of alternative energy use to preserve the WV carbon based industries, registrations for hybrid and electric vehicles in WV carry an additional fee of $100/year for hybrids and $200/year for electrics to offset lost gasoline tax revenues that go to road repairs.  What a state.

    In a nutshell, Bumble is a location-based dating app that follows the “swipe right or left” format that Tinder made so famous. When two people “like” each other’s profile by swiping right, a “connection” (match) is formed and messages can then be exchanged.

    Maybe all males should have forced vasectomies until they reach an age of seniority and can be means tested to support any/all offspring.

    Troops sent into Ukraine to back up Russian forces say they had no choice but to leave because Russian military was in shambles and “they deceived us at every step.”
    Soldiers from the breakaway state of South Ossetia—speaking to South Ossetian leader Anatoly Bibilov at a meeting publicized by the independent news outlet MediaZona—rattled off a list of complaints about faulty equipment, lack of leadership and intel, and brainless tactics.
    South Ossetia, which relies heavily on military and financial aid from Russia, sent troops to Ukraine in late March to “defend Russia.” Ukrainian military officials said at the time that some 150 South Ossetian troops were joining forces with Russia, but Tskhinvali never gave any official figures.
    Many of the soldiers are said to be part of Russian military units based in South Ossetia; Moscow and Tskhinvali struck a deal in 2017 to partially incorporate their armed forces.
    But reports soon surfaced of many of them refusing to take part in the fight, vowing not to become “cannon fodder.”

  52. Glad that got a rise, Bob. I did one of those snort things when I saw it. I’m not so put off by by products.  Not many sausages and pressed meats I don’t like, and I don’t have any little lies I have to tell myself about what they are in order for me to enjoy them.  As a kid I loved, really loved, fried chicken gizzards – kind of a gateway thing for me, and I could take of leave the livers.  But taking it up a notch I’ve had and liked Italian cuisine (as opposed to just food) made from the organs of pigs and beefs.  I caught one of the Stanley Tucci programs where he was in the Testaccio neighborhood in Rome, a part of the city where the poorer people who lived and worked in the slaughterhouses couldn’t get the better cuts of the animals to cook, so they and the Jewish folks in Rome developed this offal cuisine that is quite the cut above chitlins (which done right aren’t too bad).
