It’s The Routers Stupid

Still trying to figure out this riff from Trump’s Arizona speech last Saturday, like he even knows what a router is: “The county has, for whatever reason, also refused to produce the network routers. We want the routers, Sonny, Wendy, we got to get those routers, please. The routers. Come on, Kelly, we can get those routers. Those routers. You know what? We’re so beyond the routers, there’s so many fraudulent votes without the routers. But if you got those routers, what that will show, and they don’t want to give up the routers. They don’t want to give them. They are fighting like hell. Why are these commissioners fighting not to give the routers?”

  1. but that was yesterday. the former guy is sooo passé

    today:  9:30  it’s SHOWTIME!!!

James Carville and Tim Miller had some harsh words for Kevin McCarthy and other Republicans stonewalling Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats seeking to properly investigate the Capitol insurrection.

  2. January 6 probe: Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger prepare for blockbuster hearing amid attacks from their own party – ABC7 San Francisco (abc7news.com)

“We’ve got serious business here,” Cheney said, right before heading into a select committee meeting. “We have important work to do.”

In sign of just how crucial Democrats view their GOP colleagues’ roles in the investigation, Cheney will give an opening statement directly after Chairman Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, during the select committee’s first hearing with police officers on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the matter.

And in an unusual move Monday afternoon, the Republican members of the select committee joined the Democrats for a prep session, walking through lines of questioning and previewing some of the never-before-aired video of the Capitol assault that will play during the panel’s hearing. Sources on the committee said that at this point the group is acting like one cohesive unit, as opposed to two distinct sides. It is a trend they hope will stick and lead to positive outcomes.

  3. …that’s just him throwing shit at a wall and hoping some of it sticks.  A reasonable expectation given his throng of dummies

  4. What about the BANANA CREME PIE???
When will they give us the BANANA CREME PIE?   Why are they trying to hide the BANANA CREME PIE???

  5. 3 days from now, one of my dumb republican associates is going to ask me:

”So, what do you think of all this banana creme pie stuff on the internet?  You think there’s anything to it?”

  6. bink, hopefully somewhere in the near future there’s a banana creme pie with the former guy’s face in it.

    See the source image

  7. here’s an ad trevor noah came up with in may for a commercial break for the GQP. ideal for fox to play during the hearing

Are you a Republican and desperately want to forget that Trump incited the Capitol riots? Suppress your democratic principles and subversion to violence with Insurrectigone, the powerful new drug to relieve Republican guilt. #DailyShow #Trump #Insurrection

  8. What did Jim Jordan know about the insurrection and when did he know it? | Sidney Blumenthal | The Guardian

“That fucking guy Jim Jordan. That son of a bitch,” Liz Cheney, a Republican congresswoman from Wyoming, told chairman of the joint chiefs Gen Mark Milley about the Republican congressman from Ohio, according to I Alone Can Fix It, by Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker.
“While these maniacs are going through the place,” said Cheney, about the insurrection at the Capitol on 6 January, “I’m standing in the aisle and he said, ‘We need to get the ladies away from the aisle. Let me help you.’ I smacked his hand away and told him, ‘Get away from me. You fucking did this.’”
When House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, a congressman from California, named Jordan and Jim Banks, of Indiana, both of whom challenged the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s victory, to join the 13-member select committee on the Capitol insurrection, Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected the two men.
    […]
Liz Cheney, who Pelosi has appointed to the select committee, and was stripped of her position as chair of the House Republican Conference in an effort led by Jordan, said McCarthy named Jordan to the committee in order to sabotage it.
“At every opportunity, the minority leader has attempted to prevent the American people from understanding what happened, to block this investigation,” she stated. Jordan, she pointed out, could also not serve on the committee because he “may well be a material witness to events that led to that day, that led to 6 January”.
The questions that Jordan may be asked if he were to testify would cover his knowledge and involvement in the planning, organization and funding of the insurrection, as well as his participation in the concerted effort to prevent the constitutional certification of the presidential election and the propagation of Trump’s “big lie” that the election was a fraud and stolen.
    […]
Did Jordan coordinate his statements with Trump, the White House staff, other Republican House members, or Trump’s legal team led by Rudy Giuliani?
    5) On 21 December, Jordan attended private meetings at the White House with Trump and several other Republican House members “where they strategized over a last-ditch effort to overturn the election results,” Politico reported. “It was a back-and-forth concerning the planning and strategy for 6 January,” said Representative Mo Brooks, a Republican congressman from Alabama.
What was said at that meeting? What were those plans? Was the rally discussed? Was the idea discussed of sending Trump supporters to intimidate and interrupt members of Congress in the certification process? Was Jordan’s role on the House floor on 6 January against certification raised at that meeting? What did Jordan say?
    6) On Saturday night, 2 January, Jordan participated in a call organized by White House chief of staff Mark Meadows with Trump and 50 House members and senators “to address their goal of overturning certain states’ electoral college results on Wednesday,” according to Fox News….
    […]
Does Jordan support the select committee deposing Beutler and McCarthy to answer questions about this incident?
    16) Jim Jordan told the Washington Post that he should not testify about 6 January.
“I think this commission is ridiculous, and why would they subpoena me? I didn’t do anything wrong – I talked to the president. I talk to the president all the time. I just think that’s – you know where I’m at on this commission – this is all about going after President Trump. That seems obvious.”
Did Jordan speak with Trump on 6 January during the insurrection? Did he speak with him about it after about the event? Will Jordan cooperate with the select committee as a witness or will he stonewall it as he did the investigation into the sexual abuse at OSU? Will he honor a subpoena or force the sergeant at arms to wrestle with him to enforce it?

  9. A router is as good for fraud detection as a UV flashlight is for finding bamboo fibers in paper.  Neither works for fraud detection or for much of anything else.

  10. WTF?!

Bink…  what the hell has banana cream pie ever done to you…  it’s good eatin!

  11. From WaPo re the hearing

During his testimony, [D.C. Police Officer Michael] Fanone slammed his fist on the table and called the indifference of some lawmakers to the attack disgraceful. “Nothing, truly nothing, has prepared me to address those elected members of our government who continue to deny the events of that day. And in doing so, betray their oath of office.”

McCarthy and his band of idiots were busy gaslighting and changing their narrative about why Nancy rejected Gym and Jim and they took their football and went home – gone are the other incidents of political violence (you know, BLM and Antifa) and now it’s that Gym wanted to investigate Nancy and her failure to make sure the Capitol Police were trained and equipped to handle 1/6.

  12. https://www.texastribune.org/2021/07/26/dade-phelan-civil-arrest-warrant-house-democrat-philip-cortez/

“…a civil warrant for the arrest of state Rep. Philip Cortez, a San Antonio Democrat who rejoined his colleagues in Washington, D.C., on Sunday to help prevent the passage of a GOP-backed election bill. The warrant is not likely to have impact since Texas law enforcement lacks jurisdiction outside the state.”

ps – Gov. Abbott wants to build a wall to protect our banana cream pies…but if we’re all dead from covid because he won’t impose mask/vax mandates, we won’t get to enjoy them, anyway.

  13. The Twitter GOP are posting non stop about how Nancy failed to provide security for the House.  Just knowing there are people out there who will believe any of the responsibility was hers is depressing.

They thrive on ignorance and failure to know the law or the Constitution.

  14. It’s all they’ve got.  Deflect the truth with a lie.   I remember this kid to whom I lent a dime to call her parents after a movie.  Every time I tried to collect, she’d refuse and tell me I owed her a quarter.  She’s probably a Republican now.

  15. Dang these testifying cops calling for culpable congressional members to be brought to justice to their faces ain’t playin’ around, good on them

  16. Covid is having a run.  The 7 day rolling average of new cases has gone from 12,696 to 55.986 since July 6. 7 day rolling average of deaths has also risen, albeit not nearly as dramatically, from 209 to 277 over the same period. Idiots.

And in related news, Wapo reports that:

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will recommend on Tuesday that vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors in certain circumstances, citing the highly transmissible delta variant of the coronavirus.

‘The agency is recommending that vaccinated people who live in high-transmission areas wear masks in indoor public spaces to help prevent viral spread, according to three people familiar with the guidance. It is also advising that vaccinated people with vulnerable people in their households, including young children and those who are immunocompromised, wear masks indoors in public spaces.

‘In addition, the agency is urging universal masking for all teachers, staff members and students in schools, regardless of vaccination status.

  17. Great comment by a reader who goes by S W A G at Wapo in response to Jennifer Rubin’s piece today on the 1/6 Select Committee.

If McCarthy had been president on Dec 7 1941, he would have blamed the Pearl Harbor attack on the American military personnel on the Island.

And the Japanese would have been peaceful tourists.

    I’m stealing it.

  18. I got a genealogy letter  to my mother today , the writer named every part of my mother’s name.  She’s in Santa Rosa Ca,  I’ll call here later.
My mom has been dead for nearly 19 years.  The woman enclosed a stamped addressed return envelope .
That got to me , it was part of the genealogy code before e-mail .  When writing a stranger to ask a question you included one of these.
I got to buying stamps for her at Christmas  back then .  She loved it .

My mother had a bad stamp habit before e-mail.

  19. I once said here years ago, I wouldn’t follow Nancy Pelosi into a 7-ll .

One of the poorest statements of my life.
The ole’ girl is playing hardball, and Kevin hasn’t got his jock strap back from the cleaners.

  20. When down to Buddy Holly Ave. today .
I planted a seedless grape vine  years ago along the back fence , they bagged the grapes this year . So, the birds didn’t take them .  They saved me a bunch , they are wonderful.

  21. So me and Larry were bitchin’ about  Covid shots.

And he said something about this next phase ,
Now Larry is a bit of a hard ass.  But he hit on a very big hammer to hit this nail.
Insurance companies  drop you if you don’t get vaxxed.

That’s a bit to far, but jacking up your premiums.  That’s the American way .
    And I mean jacked .

  22. CDC wants more vaccinated people and schoolchildren to mask up — but Texas keeps it voluntary

“On Tuesday, a prominent Texas teachers group called on Abbott to let districts impose campus mask mandates with school set to begin in two weeks while national education advocates applauded the new CDC guidelines.“

Governor Greg won’t budge. No mask mandates allowed at public schools and no virtual learning.

Right now, there are 13 kids with covid who are hospitalized at Cook Medical. Five of them are in the ICU.

    https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/covid-19-fort-worth-cook-childrens-hospital/287-a73f42e0-2bcd-4af5-88ec-27a93104fc5c

Does Greg Abbott want to kill children in Texas? He certainly doesn’t seem to be pro life.

  23. Yep.  Hit them in the wallet.  Prove you’re vaccinated or really jack up the premiums, because their potential illness will drive the potential illness of others, too.

  24. “Disgraceful!”
Yep, there’s the campaign ad against the GQP.

I hope they subpoena McCarthy, Gym, and several others. I really don’t want Orange Adolf there, though. Of course, he would mostly likely commit perjury the second he opens his mouth, but it would just make him look more important in the eyes of his unvaccinated hoard. The bigger your opponent the bigger you seem. Don’t make a martyr of him, either. Take down those who aided and abetted him, and, who are still stuck to his shoe like gum (Kev).

  25. Blue –
You hit one of several nerves  , and the “Pro Life” flag  is at the top of the list .

He’s gonna kill kids  that are a live with their no mask Alamo thinking.
I’m still waiting for the every fetus  gets a 9 mm Glock  mandate.

    And a box of ammo.

  26. In real time on televisions all the little rats are beginning to run amock…….scurrying, as it were, as it begins to dawn on them that they are all on their own and there is no surcease as Nancy owns the helm and commands the wheelhouse.

  27. One thing about all this steaming pile of  America pus is that there is no command  structure ,  zip.
And all these people swimming it in are willing to stab their own people in the back to get a head.
Once they are arrested they want their mothers.
And that is another nerve  “Moral Bankruptcy”

  28. There was a clip of a woman at some sort of public hearing about masks in school this fall.  She was ~crying~ (just BS, contrived tears), saying that she couldn’t bear to see her child in a mask. Perhaps, she would prefer to see her child in an ICU, struggling to breathe.
