House Speaker Liz Cheney?

I’m wondering if Cheney is thinking about challenging McCarthy for Speaker if reelected and GOP wins House. She might get enough Dem votes to win. Pelosi might make that deal with her. Think that’s what Nancy was hinting recently, talking about restoring a Republican Party that’s not a cult.

Cheney tweet yesterday: “The House GOP leadership has enabled white nationalism, white supremacy, and anti-semitism. History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse. GOP leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them.”

Cheney’s performance in Jan 6 hearings next month is gonna be fascinating.

    House Republican leaders are rebutting accusations from Democrats, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and others that their rhetoric has contributed to white supremacy in light of Saturday’s Buffalo, N.Y., shooting, in which a white shooter targeted Black victims, killing 10 people. 
    “Same thing Cheney always does, just trying to play a political game when she knows something’s not true,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters Monday evening.

    Maybe Musk is, as well, and is intentionally angling himself to influence policy in an effort to achieve extreme deregulation of his businesses, and as you may remember government-enforced covid protocols forced him to temporarily halt Tesla operations in California, which upset him so much he got much more involved in the political discourse.

    Fun of the day is watching videos, YouTube Patrick Conley channel, of black bears coming around to visit his porch – with him sitting on it.  He occasionally has to scold them not to chew on the rocking chair or to not break the window in, the bears accept it and wander away.  Sometimes they come up to sniff his knee or the camera.  Great nose shots.

  27. I would be concerned about that pacemaker for Fetterman.  It indicates some additional problem with the heart.

    I have had AFib since childhood.  Add in an aneurism in a really hard to operate location.  All the doctors do is keep me on blood thinners and take a picture once a year to monitor the size of the aneurism.  So far so good, but should that aneurism get to the risky stage, it would mean full open-heart surgery.  At 78, I think I’ll just take my chances.  At no time, have they suggested a pacemaker.  

  28. It’s easy to make a convincing argument if you can get the person you’re arguing to to assume that the conclusion you’re trying to prove is true before you make the argument – an dthrowing in facts taht aren’t true doesn’t hurt either.
