Trump has totally bought into the herd immunity hoax now being heavily promoted on FOX prime time shows. It’ll kill a million+ but not until after the election, so he doesn’t care.
And if he loses the election that 1-2 million will die on Biden’s watch, allowing he and FOX to blame Joe.

Trump has told staff he does not want crowds in masks. Tuesday at his roundtable in Wisconsin he asked participants to remove their masks before news cameras let in. Masks don’t fit his scheme to let the virus run its course.
This isn’t unprecedented by the way. Woodrow Wilson ignored the Spanish Flu and 675,ooo Americans died (when our population was less than one-third what it is today).

American POWs are heroes because they were captured. Our soldiers deserve a president that has their backs.

I would say, “why suppress the vote when you can save money by killing them?”, but it is his followers he is killing.
Just to have something pleasant for a Tuesday. My favorite tree in the DC Arboretum is home to the eagles First Lady and Mr. P. They have some friends who have lived there as well. This morning on camera.

Watching a British mystery last night and heard “I’ve been made redundant three times in ten years” and remembered this is the way the country has dealt with layoffs for about 20 years due to need to reduce workers no longer needed. The US doesn’t have anything comparable, but may need it as virus has shown a larger percentage of workers are simply no longer needed.

Look to Sweden for an example of attaining “herd immunity” with COVID-19. It did not get there. It did have higher deaths than surrounding countries though. The Lancet provides more information.
psst, jamie, it’s thursday already.
I think.
i’ve been noticing lately that fridays keep happening every other day now. so maybe you’re just ahead of schedule.

I keep losing days. I’m always surprised by Saturday. Both son and grandson have tested negative and they have the elderly, high risk incarcerated with the cats. I wasn’t planning on becoming old woman with cats quite this soon, but masked at Safeway has become my only home away from home.
Well, the Tour actually begins in about half an hour. 50 km left on the day, 2/3 of it uphill – 1/4 a Cat 1 climb to the Col de la Lusette, then a less severe climb to the top of Mt. Aigoual. The breakaway of 8 riders are just under 6 minutes ahead of the peloton, which will fall apart on the climb to Col de la Lusette if history is a teacher, and the gap between the breakaway will vanish or come close to it as the climbers take the lead toward the Col. Or I could be surprised. Either way, fun stuff.

tony, once more great minds think alike?
So the peloton cut almost 2 minutes off the gap to the breakaway on a short Cat 3 warmup climb. not a good sign for the breakers.
A number of riders have been dropped on the 2nd climb of the day – ironically enough B. Cosnefroy, the rider wearing the Polka Dot jersey (Best Climber), is one of the dropped riders.
NBCgold has the full broadcast from the start of each stage. It is nice. There have been years I used a VPN to watch television in Europe. That was when NBC bought the US rights and there was almost no coverage.
Has anyone been concerned for the health of the cartoonists and satarists during these four years? They have to be at it every day just to try to keep up with the idiocy and lies. Once again my favorite comes through with a wonderful column.
With the peloton starting the climb up to Col de la Lusette the gap to the breakaway is now at 2:45 and 2 of the breakaway riders have dropped back to the peloton. Time for the “big men” as they call them to get it in gear and see who’s interested in trying to take control of the race.
BB, isn’t Alexandra possessed of a wonderful mind? I have no idea how it would be to go through life with the ability to see things as she does and do with it what she does. I’d like to see what that’s like.
Pogo – The break away is breaking down. I am keeping my eye on the time for the peloton. It is still in the minute per ten kilometer though. The question I have is whether Qunitana will bridge the gap and go for the stage win.
So the peloton decided to let the breakaways go – the gap at the Col is now at 3 minutes, Alexy Lutsenko first to the top.
Pogo – Perhaps the peloton think is that it needs to use a few days to get the legs back into condition considering how little racing has been done until now. Like yesterday when it rode most of the race without any breakaways or attacks, although at a very nice speed. Today giving the break away freedom to win the stage. Maybe Saturday or Sunday we will see the typical stage action.
BB, unless he’s one of the chasers he’d better hurry if that’s his plan. There are only 4 km left and the peloton is 3’19” behind. His team needs to get him out of the pack if he wants to try and seize the yellow jersey. I’m just having to look at the letour.fr race progress graphic, and it doesn’t identify what riders are where.
so true…
I’m guessing you’re right, BB. Besides if he took off I’m sure Yates’ team would track him down quickly. Lutsenko will take th stage and rise by about 10 places in the overall – might get into the top 25.
Pogo – that was a solid ride to the top. He looked strong all the way. If he recovers fast he might cause some shifts in the overall.
Alaphillppe just pulled in too. He might get yellow back sometime soon.
edited a couple times, my hand is still not functioning, the fingers sometimes do what they want regardless of what my brain tells them to do.
What a great song. I thought I knew every album Kenny Rogers ever made, and I’ve never heard that song. Can’t find it on Amazon. Anyone know what album it is from?
Jamie, wiki (source of all knowledge) doesn’t know of that song as a KR song.
Just got back from eating my first collard greens. Sorry… don’t get what all the fuss is about… they were ok. But at least I can now say I know what they taste like.
We’ve gotten out to eat a few times… outside. Someone put in a Texas smokehouse a few towns over… it’s under a yuuuuge tent. Went to lunch there. The meat was fantastic! We had brisket and pulled pork… corn bread… and the collard greens. Rick said it was as good as any Texas barbecue he’s eaten in either Houston or Austin. We’ll go back… soon.
jamie, from one of the commenters on youtube:
Looks like the Dow didn’t like today’s job numbers any more than I did. Down 853 points (2.87%).
Just saw proof that SFB has tiny hands. In a current picture he is holding a microphone, I own that very same model of mic. My less than petite hands cover the handle completely. Looking at images of women singers holding the same mic is similar, their hands cover most of the handle. The orange blob hand does not cover the handle. Little tiny hands is not a euphemism for a tiny thingy, he really does have little hands.
Looked for soundtracks and came up blank. There is a DVD of the movie but nothing for the song.
It grew into “tiny hands” but it started out as “short fingered Vulgarian”.
Finally a crummy end to the day. Tornado warning for another half hour, tornado watch for six more hours. Rotation of the tornado about six miles north. Probably trying to ruin my day. Getting very noisy out there. “Go to the lower level of your house.” I live in a small one level cottage. Ain’t no where to go higher or lower. The last tornado hit overhead, this one looks like it will sweep in. If it hits it will be my third one I have been in.

Nice and cool here in DFW, Old Man.
Next week, it’s gonna be in the 50s at night. That’s too cold.
BB – Grab the fur babies and head for a closet if you hear the tornado siren.
Just talked to a relative in California who broke her arm. She’s worried that no doc would see her or there’d be long lines for docs if we end up with socialized medicine. I guess Faux Noise works like a pain killer; keeps the mind worrying instead of on the physical pain.
I just went to Walmart here in New Smyrna Beach. I counted many not wearing a mask. Oh, they piss me off. Selfish. One older white man wearing his Maga hat. I want Trump gone!
Well, now his kids know what to put on his tombstone. LOSER
What a miserable creep.
Oh, my tiny home county of fewer than 3,000 (many of those out on farms) has had a COVID outbreak. There was a wedding, as I understand it. Five got sick…and now there are 94 in town who have tested positive.
Trumps America that piece of shit!
Hi everyone … Jamie – Craig said I can give you my Kentucky Derby pick. I’m going with Honor A.P.! thx
BiD, unfortunately, that’s what a virus does.
RE: Craig’s headline, trumpity is SO vile. Take him out! Forget lock him up. November is close.
Just finished “Melania & Me”. The East wind as well as the West wing are pits of snakes. She cooperated with several investigations. Good!
Another layer of trumpity chaos…vote by mail AND in person…the people at the polls won’t have any idea who’s voting by mail. With any luck his basket of deplorables will do that.
And now it comes out that trumpity HATES the military men and women and particularly POW’s & the wounded & the dead soldier.
HE’s A TRAITOR!!!
As for trumpity & COVID 19: 1) He can’t be bothered, 2) Herd immunity & don’t wear a mask so he can have FUN at hid rallies.
Hi David!
