  1. I may watch a few minutes just to see if Trump is on full haughty with Megan, but no way can I spend 2 hours of my life watching the two desperate princes try to take down the king.

There is one Trump shoe out there that I keep waiting to hear drop.  Romney sort of hinted at it, and gossip has been going around for years.  It’s simple:  Donald Trump is basically broke.  The majority of his liquid cash is from the sale of rights to use his name on locations and products.  Everything else is tied up with banks in the paybacks of his bankruptcies and the banks keep quiet because that name is all that keeps the properties, liens, and product lines profitable enough to pay back the loans

    In other words, he is too big to fail.

    Now someone out there (or in his tax returns) knows the truth about these rumors & suppositions, but having watched the man, I have to assume the rumors are true until proved otherwise.

Jamie, his tax return wouldn’t necessarily reflect that.  Prolly wouldn’t at all in fact.  You could see income and losses from businesses, interest on loans, interest from investments, etc., etc. (all of which are probably pretty large numbers) and could see an approximation of cash flow, but really, that’s about it. I would expect that Drumpf really doesn’t want voters to see that he has huge business losses to offset his huge business income – resulting in paying little tax on what his businesses generate. Donations is also a line item I suspect he would like to keep out of the voters’ eyes.  With supporting worksheets and schedules (good luck with that) you could see the basis he had in assets sold and the profit or loss on the sale.  A really smart accountant could figure some things out.  I don’t think we’ll ever get that chance.

    and blaming open primaries  – it’s really the Reagen Dems that are the racist they could say

    Stop the takeover of the Republican party by the KKK and other racist groups …yeah that’s the ticket

    With years as a bookkeeper I suspected that.  Anything that can be hidden will be hidden and I suspect with the full cooperation of all lenders concerned.

    As with all “wealthy” people, I’m sure he gets a huge amount of stuff & privileges without spending a dime.  It really is a whole lot cheaper to be rich.

Jim Webb’s Facebook page is getting a few “Please Run” & announce on MSNBC messages to which I added a very sincere, “HELL NO!”.  If he wants to run as an Independent or classic Republican fine.  That would fit and he might actually save the GOP from themselves, but Jim as proven by the first debate is not (or no longer) a Democrat no matter how he self identifies.

  14. Pogo…  I have to confess that for the past few weeks it’s been all I can handle to keep up here, Facebook, and the Washington Post.  I’ve neglected what’s happening here in the mother state.  So whatever patd linked on that case is all the info I have also.

    Flatus…  maple syrup…   no problem.  We have made the maple syrup season great again….  it’s awesome and you’re gonna love it!

  16. I will be watching “You, Me and The Apocolypse” tonight.   It’s a lot like a GOP debate, except it’s on NBC.

    Willard.  Binders full of women. An elevator for his cars.  It’s all coming back to me now.

    Notice how he ranked the candidates when asked for whom they should vote:

    1) Rubio – The least popular of the front-runners

    2) Kasich – The last in line now that Carson has dropped out

    3) tedcruz ((half-heartedly mumbled that one))

    Rubio is still the one the RNC intends to run, with Nikki Hayley as his veep.

    Is that loyalty oath legally binding? If not, expect Trump to be the 3rd-party nominee.  He’ll bolt and take the people the RNC dismissed with him.

    Two things I don’t understand about the email story: Is it really what was in the emails that is in question, or, is it just that she by-passed the gov’t email system?  If the guy who set up the server was given immunity for cooperating, does that mean there’s something there?

    One thing the DNC  and the RNC should pay attention to (and which was completely lost on Mittens), the peasants are revolting.  They don’t have torches and pitchforks, they have ballots and Bernie, and yes, even Trump.  Mittens probably just made it worse.

  22. Erie County (NY) GOP Chairman, Mr Nick Langworthy, declared his support for Mr Trump today. He said the people have spoken; leadership should listen. He joins Congressman Chris Collins as the second high-profile Republican from WNY to endorse Mr Trump.

    The guy who was given immunity doesn’t mean there is anything there.  During the committee hearings awhile back he took the fifth on the advice of his attorney.  This is the proper use of the fifth.  Since you don’t have any idea what the committee is going to do, he wanted to negotiate before giving any specific information.

    Now he is totally safe to tell anything he knows about setting up the server and its use and any conversations he might have had about that without any risk to himself no matter what the committee might want to do.

    It’s political from beginning to end without any necessity for actual facts.

    My private 18 year old at the time son (1980) punched out a senior officer when told to do something illegal and the senior officer’s senior officer said, “Good kid.  You did the right thing.  I’ll handle this.”

    Needless to say Warrant Officer (2003) son was disgusted & appalled by Abu Ghraib.  “Where did their training fail?”
