  1. The reviews of SFB Rose Garden rant are flowing in and it was definitely not a winner.  A stinker, but that is a given considering the imbecile giving the grievance recital.  Even faux left the old guy for something else.

But it did the job of covering up a book release and the removal of COVID-19 data from the public.

  2. Jim Acosta: There’s no one left [in the administration] but Kool-Aid drinkers and next-of-kin.

  3. WWJD v WWTD?    Very different things. Very different.

There’s a book about why it won’t make a difference to some. Unholy:Why White Evangelicals Worship At The Alter Of Donald Trump

  4. By the way, MJ Hegar won the run-off against Royce West election yesterday.   You’re next, John Cornyn.

  5. BB, I don’t think the stinker’s stinker was as effective as you seem to think. I’m hearing the pieces on the CDC step around to HHS and keep seeing his niece and clips from her interview on the tube. Expect to see the dumb ass on TV talking about how great his influence was in the Alabama and Texas races. That’s where the distraction is.

  6. patD – I saw your post about tRUMPco not reporting on racial disparities/ACA last night.   The WH could/should get that intel from the CDC.  By going straight to the WH, they control the information.   Why in the hell is he telling the National Guard to collect it?   This is some serious stuff and it’s not just about an ACA report.   Again, I ask if it’s legal for someone other than the CDC to access this information (HIPAA)?   tRUMP is a racist, a fascist, a traitor, and now, a mass murderer in his mishandling of the pandemic.  Why does this info have to go straight to the WH for him/them to control it???   It does not and should not.  Researches won’t be able to see raw data to try to solve this viral puzzle.  He’s going to hurt/kill even more folks with this sinister stunt.  Can the WH be legally stopped from doing this?   Can hospitals give copies to the CDC, anyway?

  7. So I guess Navarro has now been given the post of Director of the White House Office of Criticizing Anthony Fauci?  How idiotic.

  8. in 2016 when evangelicals were asked how they could support Trump based on his personal behavior.  They said they didn’t care because he supported their issues.

  9. BiD

That decrease is a good development except for the small detail that it is still about 4 billion too many.  1960 was just about prime for balance between human beings and environment.  We are likely to see even more of these opportunistic viruses as animal habitat is destroyed.

Global Population hit 1 billion for the first time in 1804

123 years later in 1927 we hit 2 billion

In 1960 it was 3 billion

  10. So, the only ones attending tRUMP’s “rallies” now will be the press corps. Orange Julius is losing it.  I’m very concerned about the medical data grab.  What is their end game?

  11. KC I wouldn’t be shocked to learn that the Louisiana reproductive rights case coming out of SCOTUS this term caused that group to rethink its support of Orange Lardius and his judicial appointments. That was what they pinned their support for Lardius on.

  12. Pennsylvania Biden Leads But Many Anticipate Secret Trump Vote

Among all registered voters in Pennsylvania, Biden is supported by 53% and Trump by 40%, with 3% saying they will vote for another candidate and 4% who are undecided. Biden is in a relatively stronger position among his fellow Democrats (93% to 1%) than Trump is among Republican voters (84% to 12%). Biden also enjoys a wide margin among independent voters (54% to 33%).

  13. This…babbling is from the leader of the free world?

“When you look at St. Louis, where two people, they came out. They were going to be beat up badly if they were lucky. If they were lucky,” the president told Townhall’s Katie Pavlich. “They were going be beat up badly and the house was going to be totally ransacked and probably burned down like they tried to burn down churches.

“And these people were standing there, never used it and they were legal, the weapons. And now I understand somebody local, they want to prosecute these people. It’s a disgrace,” Trump said.

  14. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/14/mj-hegar-john-cornyn-texas-senate-royce-west/
MJ Hegar won the run-off based on her debate performances, John Cornyn.  She did not win because of the Cornyn ads against her opponent.  And, the only reason the ads were run were because of Cornyn’s fear of running against a black candidate in November, and, underestimating the draw  of Hegar.
The fact that she is now aligned with Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer is not a bad thing, either.  I know Cornyn is talking to his fearful, Republican base when he says that, but his base is shrinking.
Maybe it’s all of those pesky Californians that Rick Perry brought here when he poached companies and got them to relocate, bringing upper-level employees with them.  Maybe it’s a distaste for anything aligned with tRUMP in any way.  Maybe, someone with a military  background, a brain, a heart, and, the ability to communicate her thoughts.
Any one, or a combination, of those things will ensure that this was Cornyn’s final term in office.

  15. Evangelicals are told to vote and how to vote; it comes straight from the pulpit.  Churches that engage in  point-blank politicking should lose their tax-exempt status.
A neighbor with whom I ran a 5k for her church’s charity years ago was trying to get me to go to a service.  I declined.  She asked my religious affiliation.  I told her I was a Methodist.  If you could’ve seen the look on her face. “Oh, I hear Methodists are very liberal, you know, politically.”  I told we don’t discuss politics in church.  She was surprised.

  16. With all of the things that this clown has done, changing the data from the CDC bothers me the most.  This sounds very 1930’s German to me.

  17. Had to call daughter Sue to come over to help search for my tax records. Within half an hour she found them all neatly bundled. I’ll take a short break then start working on them at 1300-local. Ciao.

  18. Hey Ivanker how’s food chain working out.  She was going to play swooning goddess delivering food to the needy and saving farmers.    She has done nothing.

  19. Flatus – I tried to do it last night, ended up finishing this morning and running over to the post office to get the official date stamp on the envelope.  There was a very short line, and one man who did not have completed forms (poor guy his pain continued).

  20. Mrs. P takes the lead on our tax prep. She had it 90% done Before the April deadline and we wrapped it up over the Independence Day weekend. It was nice to have it done more than a week before the deadline.
So Israel is now experiencing an upsurge in CV 19 cases after re-opening their schools. As much as orange lardius  loves Israel, I wonder if he’ll even notice?

  21. Chyron at MSNBC – Trump Admin Floods Jacksonville With Free COVID Tests in Advance of RNC. Hypocitical asshole.

I do hope they hold their convention outside in Jacksonville in August. What could possibly go wrong? Heatstroke, thunderstorms …. COVID … Have at.

  22. al’s back!

    cnn oped:

(CNN)When your opponent is digging himself a hole, you let him keep digging. By design or necessity, Joe Biden has laid low since we all sheltered in place, allowing President Donald Trump to turn the November election into a referendum on Donald Trump.
And right now, Donald Trump appears to be losing badly to Donald Trump.
Given Trump’s inability to admit and learn from mistakes, there is the real possibility that he will continue to crash and burn all the way through to November 3. But Biden and Democrats can’t count on that. Instead, they must offer the American people a real rationale for voting in the fall for three reasons.

    [continues]

  23. Katie Tur is shredding Tim Murtaugh over his lies about the Tulsa rally and the BLM protests. Good on her.

  24. NEW QUINNIPIAC National Poll. Biden leads Trump by 15% (52-37%). In June Q poll, Biden was +8. Trump’s job approval is down to 36% approve, 60% disapprove

  25. Maybe he’ll have to attack Grenada and then head a victory parade.

Ummm . . . . Grenada’s prolly too powerful.  How about the Dry Tortugas ?

  26. XR, Rasmussen is nothing if not predictable – other opinion polls go down, they go up.  If it weren’t for Rasmussen and Hill/Harris SFB would have a job approval average at 40.5 rather than 42,

  27. Putting on my paranoid hat I am bothered by internal numbers showing soft support for Biden on enthusiasm, among young voters, and dislike stats not much different than Trump’s. In other words this lead is all about Trump is defeating Trump, not about Biden winning. A recipe for a quick turnaround if things somehow change.

  28. Weird shit in the polling – Biden’s peak (RCP average) was on 6/22 at 51.2%, with a 9.8 margin over Lardius.  Now it’s 48.7 with an 8.6 margin.  BOTH candidates have lost support over the past 3 1/2 weeks.  Biden’s lost 2.5 and Lardius has lost 1.3.  Lardius’ problem is that his polling average against Biden is just below his job approval average – which suggests to me that  he has only his base saying they will vote for him, and not all of those who approve of his job performance would vote for him.  Biden still has a 21.3% betting odds advantage, and while it is 2 less than its peak on June 30, it is up 6 points in the past week.  Money talks, bullshit walks.

  29. Poobah, methinks it’s time for Joe to start hitting the Sunday circuit and doing pressers.  Looks like the front porch campaign isn’t getting results now.

  30. Biden has no enthusiasm gap. He is all ahead full, steady as she goes.   Slow  and steady wins the race.  Sin in haste,  repent in leisure.  He has a plethora of heavy duty advisors, plus a lifetime in elected office. I await his VP choice with bated breath, eager to sing her praises. If I want, I can complain all over the place about them—after they win.
I feel sure that he is aware that he is picking a future president. That’s a heavy weight.

    Resolute.

  31. In my humbolt opinion…..it’s not whom he picks….it’s how to increase turnout—now, and after he picks whomever it is.

  32. In other words this lead is all about Trump is defeating Trump . . . . – Mr Crawford

True. This election is a referendum on trump and republicans.  The reds would like to run away from him, but he’s like the tar baby. Imagine a yuuuuuj raging lunatic tar baby, covered over with rough orange stucco that repetitiously emits slurred sounds.

  33. In fairness, rasmussen had Biden up by 9% yesterday. But the rap on harris is true.

I’ve been seeing a Blue tsunami forming since the pussy hat march. This is getting really serious. I’m still figuring a 60/40 election, but one more maniacal trump screw-up could sink him to the 30% area /- 3%.

Btw, for a few minutes yesterday I listened to his rose garden presser. During that time the beast told lies at a rate of 2 per minute. He spoke for 45 minutes and must have spewed 60 whoppers, repeating most of them once or twice.

  34. I think Mr Sturgeone is onto something. I’m guessing that at this point Biden could pick a dead crow for VP and still win in November.

Let’s make that a dead cat.

    October 1st.
And, there are all of the small businesses who’ve spent their payroll protection loans.  Folks aren’t gonna resume normal spending habits (even online) until everything stabilizes.  tRUMP has done nothing but make the economy worse by lying about the pandemic,  discounting the use of masks, and, silencing the experts.   The crappy economy is tRUMP’s fault, as are the ICUs bursting at the seams with COVID patients.

  36. Yes, boycotts do work.  However, they do fade with time if the offense isn’t kept in the news.  (I don’t recall who bought ad time for Laura Ingram’s Show.  Remember the boycott after Parkland?)
Ivanker has put her unethical foot in it, all in order to help out a rich supporter of her dad.  It will now be a bigger news story and Goya’s brand will suffer even more.
If you touch a tRUMP, you’ll never get the stench off of  you.

  37. Chelsea’s da bomb.  She’s in my top ten. One of the ballsiest women I’ve seen. Now I wonder, why are most of the women in my top ten comics?

  38. “GOP Christians: He Is Using  Us”  Duh!

While I’m physically distanced, I’m not socially distanced.  I’ve been on the phone for hours talking about education.  I say, shut it down until January.  And then have small groups in houses. That reduces the risk but only not having humans around makes the risk 0.

When Biden gets in in January, if it’s still like this around the country, he should shut the whole place down until they can get on top of it. He should beef up CDC to where I’d trust them and their data, show case Fauci, rehire Rick Bright and straighten this place out. He should invoke the  Defense Production Act  and rejoin WHO. PERIOD!  He should take the bull by the horns and DO something.

  39. Just finished watching “Stateless” on Netflix.  It is very good and thought provoking.   The series is partly inspired by the real-life story of Cornelia Rau, an Australian permanent resident who was unlawfully detained under the Australian Government’s mandatory detention program. In addition to the Australian woman, it tells the stories of the stateless people incarcerated at the site.

In closing it states there are currently about 70 million stateless persons seeking refuge, half of them children.

  41. Pogo, RBG is the only good news I’ve heard in weeks.  I hope for her sake and ours she can hold on another 6 months.

  42. It’s fun to extrapolate, but we mustn’t get our hopes up too high, because there’s a mountain of work to do before the election, and even more before the inauguration.

  43. bId

Yes she is.  As soon as the judge said she could talk, she started talking up a storm and is having a ball on her uncle’s favorite social media as @MaryLTrump

  44. trump & family is reduced to selling over-priced designer beans to “disease-carrying rapists and murderers.”
