Russia is nothing but a criminal enterprise masquerading as a nation with a third world economy and a bullshit military.

Craig, I’m trying to fully understand your post. I can agree with it if were written as follows:
Russia is nothing but a criminal enterprise masquerading as a nation. It has a third world economy. Its patriotic military operates at the whim of its corrupt Kremlin leadership.
I’ll accept your editing Flatus. My point on the military issue is that I think we have overstated their capacity. Sure, they have nukes but they don’t have the money to sustain a real military threat. Putin is a con artist. He can’t even deliver nerve agents that actually kill his target. He and his nation should be dealt with as a ridiculous sick joke.
All Europe needs to do is quit buying Putin’s oil and gas. Won’t be easy but then he goes away.
Why am I focused on this? Because I think taking Putin out takes Trump out. A desperate Putin is Trump’s worst nightmare.
Forget the nerve agents–they have nothing to do with the military. They don’t want to use nukes in theater (European) warfare; they know we would cream them. The people of the Motherland are convinced that they beat the Nazis single-handed–that’s their real strength.
They don’t need an equivalent military when they can conquer empires over the internet.  Putin’s a genius and we’re a nation of morons.  They’re hungry, we’re fat.
Also, i read that those London poisoning victims will die as soon as they’re taken off life-support- the message was sent, regardless.
As for getting rid of the corrupt leader of a weak nation- regime change starts at home. We wouldn’t even be in this situation if you and others hadn’t disseminated disinformation on the internet that undermined the Democratic candidate, so hang in there!
Bink, we are not morons. Many of our people, including within the administration do not understand statecraft and warfare. But, we have an ass-beating military.
I don’t know, Flatus- we have a representative democracy, and those representing us seem either dull or evil, or a bit of both.  Just going by what I see.
Which is why I wrote “diplomats (spies).” Canada has now said exactly that; they are just intel operatives screwing with our political systems.
When Putin says expelling his people is a huge mistake, is that a warning to Trump that he would give intel to Mueller about collusion and/or about Kushner’s nefarious business deals, and just push the Cheeto out of office if he isn’t going to be useful anymore?
Fighting in Afghanistan sucked the money out of them.  Military prowess? Not so much.  We didn’t learn from their mistake, though.
NPR reviewed a new book (The Long Hangover) about Put-ey & they seem to still be using their WWII success as propaganda.
We can’t even figure out how to stop our schoolchildren from murdering each other in school- that’s rather stupid.
Somewhere around 80% of Americans believe in an all-powerful man in the sky. More than half of them think those beliefs should inform policy. Not bright.
We’re so friggin’ dumb, we let a criminal stooge of a foreign adversary game our electoral process, knew he was doing it in the moment, and even though he lost the popular vote, we inaugurated him, anyway!!!
The technological savants who design our silicon society and rule us, electronically, apparently aren’t smart enough to write code that can’t be hacked, so what do we do? We link everything to the internet. Oy vey.

bink, so if by that calculation that makes this country’s citizens morons, what does it say about the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran etc almost a 100% of whom believe in a sky god of some sort…not to forget those like India who have a multitude of them, they must really really be dumb.
anyway, what’s your solution to our dilemma other than just whining and blaming everyone else?
I post solutions all the time, patd, and get laughed at.  Click back if you’re interested in them.
bink,
tomorrow bright and early, I expect from you a well thought out treatise on “where do we go from here” presented with at least three coherent plans of action – plan A, the optimal and most practical solution; plan B if A fails, and plan C designating who turns out the light on a dying planet.
Bink @ 7:43pm ” We wouldn’t even be in this situation if you and others hadn’t disseminated disinformation on the internet that undermined the Democratic candidate, so hang in there!”
You’ve got the wrong Flatus if you’re talking to me.
Sorry, that was directed at Craig, not you Flatus.  “Bright ideas” from people that helped get us into this mess make me angry, and then i login…
Oh, patd- I recommended everyone here (and everywhere else) should make sure their subscription television packages don’t include FoxNews. I’d bet good money not a single one did. So keep funneling money to the entitites that are shredding our society, just don’t claim in good faith i’m just “whining and complaining”.
From my perspective, abortion is the great wedge in our society, and while i support a woman’s right to choose and recognize the use of pregnancy and/or the threat of it as a tool to subjugate women, more than half of the electorate disagrees with me, and I WILL NEVER CHANGE THEIR MINDS about it.  That’s why these elections are so close, every cycle, and lower-income people vote against their interests, every cycle- THAT’S the single issue.  The Deomcratic party can’t navigate their way around that, for some reason.  You want solutions? Don’t ask me- i’m a moron.
Bink, you are welcome to submit a post for our threads anytime.

Except for the moron part your comment could be a post.
Bink, we are more alike than different. I am glad to associate myself with you and your positions. And if we disagree I’ll let you know. Thanks for injecting a bit of fire into the discussion.
Two words for why all these lawyers are turning down Trump: Suborn Perjury. They know that’s what they’d be signing up for.
Best argument for impeachment? A president screwed by a porn star.
If it had been a gay porn star, he’d have been removed from office last January, direct evidence or not.
Suddenly, all of his flighty hand gestures would be interpreted through the lens of gay stereotyping.
Mr Bink,
It boots not to fulminate against the Bernie or Bust movement of 2016. What matters now is how we can remove the Usurper and Vice Usurper from the offices they occupy, repair the damage they have done, and prevent such a catastrophe from ever happening again. We may disagree on details, but we are all in this together, and we cannot succeed without the participation of everyone who can see the light today.
As a favor, please, submit some plans for action as Ms Pat requested of you.
Btw, I opposed the slick tv package that was proposed to our co-op board, because among other things it included faux news. Ours was only 1 of 97 units in our co-op that voted. The slick package won 92-5, mostly because it had many more sports channels. sigh
