Eligible Unvaccinated Are Criminals

It’s called manslaughter, reckless disregard for life.

Make America Sick Again

“The war has changed” – CDC (Washington Post)

WAPO: Delta variant infections are probably more severe, CDC document says, citing data showing vaccinated people can spread coronavirus. “So contagious that it acts almost like a different novel virus, leaping from target to target more swiftly than Ebola or the common cold or smallpox and just as transmissible as chicken pox”

  1. and for those who want to argue the finer points, here’s an excerpt from legaldictionary:

    Manslaughter
The unjustifiable, inexcusable, and intentional killing of a human being without deliberation, premeditation, and malice. The unlawful killing of a human being without any deliberation, which may be involuntary, the commission of a lawful act without due caution and circumspection.
Manslaughter is a distinct crime and is not considered a lesser degree of murder. The essential distinction between the two offenses is that malice aforethought must be present for murder, whereas it must be absent for manslaughter. Manslaughter is not as serious a crime as murder. On the other hand, it is not a justifiable or excusable killing for which little or no punishment is imposed.
Common Law, as well as under current statutes, the offense can be either voluntary or Involuntary Manslaughter. The main difference between the two is that voluntary manslaughter requires an intent to kill or cause serious bodily harm while involuntary manslaughter does not. Premeditation or deliberation, however, are elements of murder and not of manslaughter. Some states have abandoned the use of adjectives to describe different forms of the offense and, instead, simply divide the offense into varying degrees.

    Involuntary Manslaughter
Involuntary manslaughter is the unlawful killing of another human being without intent. The absence of the intent element is the essential difference between voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. Also in most states, involuntary manslaughter does not result from a heat of passion but from an improper use of reasonable care or skill while in the commission of a lawful act or while in the commission of an unlawful act not amounting to a felony.
Generally there are two types of involuntary manslaughter: (1) criminal-negligence manslaughter; and (2) unlawful-act manslaughter. The first occurs when death results from a high degree of Negligence or recklessness, and the second occurs when death is caused by one who commits or attempts to commit an unlawful act, usually a misdemeanor.

    Criminally Negligent Manslaughter
A homicide resulting from the taking of an unreasonable and high degree< of risk is usually considered criminally negligent manslaughter. Jurisdictions are divided on the question of whether the defendant must be aware of the risk. Modern criminal codes generally require a consciousness of risk, although, under some codes, the absence of this element makes the offense a less serious homicide. [continues]

  2. Let’s not forget Governor Abbott, for not allowing municipalities nor schools to require masks, even among children who are too young to be vaccinated.

Unpatriotic, moronic, selfish, and, possibly deadly; schools should be allowed to require masks.

He won’t allow virtual learning, because he wants folks (women) to go back to work. Low staffing is driving up wages here, by the way.

If Greg thinks folks were upset after the power grid failed, just wait until we’re a few weeks into the school year.

“U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was arrested at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday for engaging in civil disobedience in support of a federal voting rights bill.“

“Jackson Lee is not the first member to be arrested in this way in recent weeks. U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio, who is the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus of which Jackson Lee is a member, was arrested at the same building earlier this month.“

“It was unclear what Jackson Lee was doing at the building to spur the arrest.“

  4. What’s so interesting about how Fauci talks about viruses is he views them as intelligent beings that adapt and learn, which is why they’re so dangerous.

  5. Is anyone else watching “The Politician” on Netflix?  It’s a great lesson is being both funny and squirmy at the same time and it hits way too close to home.

  6. This variant is doing strange things confusing scientists. Was really alarming this morning when Fauci said he’s worried it will figure out how to overcome vaccines.

The issue as Fauci put it is unvaccinated people are “petri dishes” for the virus to learn how to defeat the vaccine. I get scared when Fauci panics. Back in the AIDs days he probably saved my life when I followed his urgent advice.

  7. Intelligence is really not much more than trying shit and repeating the things that work and stop doing the things that don’t.   Wait, is that intelligence or evolution?  Or does it matter?

  8. “Intelligence is really not much more than trying shit and repeating the things that work and stop doing the things that don’t.”

pogo, that definition sure eliminates from the IQ club a lot of politicians currently in office

  9. craig, yep the virus is scary but this is scarier — and there’s no vaccine for it.

47 percent of Republicans say time will come ‘to take the law into their own hands’: poll | TheHill

The GW Politics Poll, conducted among more than 1,700 registered voters from June 4 to June 23 and released this week, found that support for principles like free and fair elections, free speech and peaceful protest were nearly unanimous among Democratic and Republican voters. Approximately 55 percent of GOP respondents, however, said they support the potential use of force to preserve the “traditional American way of life,” compared to just 15 percent of Democrats.

Only 9 percent of Democrats agreed with the statement that ” a time will come when patriotic Americans have to take the law into their own hands.”

Some of the diminished trust in elections has culminated in violent threats being made toward election workers, prompting the Department of Justice on Thursday to launch a task force aimed at combatting such threats.

It is still the two seasons.  I just missed it the first time around.  Season 3 still looks probable but next year at the earliest.

You know how much I love live theater.  I’m still mourning the whole generation of great talent we lost to the early days of the AIDS epidemic.

  12. https://broadwaynews.com/2021/07/30/broadway-theaters-will-require-audience-members-to-be-vaccinated-masked/

“All 41 Broadway theaters will require audience members to show proof of vaccination for entry. Audience members must wear masks while inside the theater, except when eating or drinking in specific locations. “

“The policies are currently in place through Oct. 31. These measures are scheduled to be reevaluated in September for shows starting in November and beyond. “

  13. i watched “the Politician”, Jamie.  Didn’t love it, but that guy has a great voice, plus what deal with the devil did Judith Light make to look so good?

  14. …cases skyrocketing in my podunk county.

It’s the herd-culling pandemic you always dreamed of, Jamie

  15. …it was probably really fucking dumb to have people from all corners of the world congregate in one place, exchange covid, and then fly back to every corner of the world, just for the Olympics, eh?

Ok, smoke ‘em if ya got ‘em✌️

  16. Speaking of scads of Republicans gathering in one little place unvaccinated and unmasked and then dispersing to every deplorable little village and town in the country……when is Sturgis?

  17. Sturgis is in 2 weeks…the Labor Day weekend…plus, unmasked children at school in some states

With school openings near, parents and teachers say state leaders have stripped them of weapons against COVID-19

“Her older son is 11 years old, too young by just a few months to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Now that Gov. Greg Abbott has prohibited schools from requiring masks and online classes will not be offered, she said she’s running out of ways to protect her child. “I feel like a trapped animal that can’t do anything to protect her babies,” Contreras said. “I would really prefer for [the school district] to offer virtual learning again.”

“…physicians, health experts, teachers and advocates in pleading with the governor to allow school districts to require masks, one of the most consistent viable tools against the spread of the coronavirus, and for parents to have their kids wear them even if there isn’t a mandate.…”

  18. Virus intelligence –
The more one studies them, the more they baffle us.
They are not  truly alive , and they are not truly inanimate.
They are the smallest known creatures we have ever seen.  And to see them we had to invent the most powerful microscopes ever seen.
And they are really tough , they are being thawed out in labs from permafrost tens of thousands of years old . And they “wake” right up ready to get back to work doing their thing , which is to make more of themselves.
That’s one of the classic definitions of being alive.

‘Unambiguous’: Justice Department Finds Treasury ‘Must’ Turn Over Trump’s Tax Returns to Congress

A little more than two years ago, the House Ways and Means Committee filed a federal lawsuit in Washington, D.C., seeking to compel then-Secretary Steven Mnuchin to turn over information that lawmakers hoped would “shed light on exactly how [President Trump] and his businesses will be affected by the massive tax legislation he championed.”
In mid-2019, a Justice Department led by then-Attorney General Bill Barr told Mnuchin not to comply with Congress’s request, opining that the committee did not have a “legitimate legislative purpose.”
