  1. The tension is palpable.  Or, rather the curiosity is tense.

I do hope that someone got the message that Dems have people from all over Mexico, Central America and South America, along with American Citizens in Puerto Rico and the Pacific Islands.  Their voices need to be heard on the platform too.

  2. the mccain-biden friendship video and cindy’s narrative should really tug at the heart strings.  hope it gets a good time slot.

  3. BTW about that sen intel report out today, aside from the manafort was a “grave counterintelligence threat”  there was this goody according to mother jones:

The report also explores the question of whether Russian intelligence developed blackmail material on Trump, revealing new information on this dicey subject but without reaching a conclusion.

The Senate Intelligence Committee’s release contains other eye-popping material. In a section on Russian kompromat—the use of compromising material—the committee explores several allegations that Russian intelligence had developed blackmail on Trump based on his personal conduct during trips to Russia. The report goes far beyond the infamous “pee tape” rumor. It states that Trump “may have” begun a short affair with a Russian woman during a 1996 trip to Moscow—without reaching a firm conclusion. And it reports that the committee spoke with a Marriott International executive who said he’d heard two colleagues discuss the existence of a video showing Trump in the elevator of the Moscow Ritz-Carlton with “hostesses” during a 2013 visit there. But the two other executives denied any such discussion. The committee said it could not resolve the matter.

don’t forget that was reported by the republican run senate intelligence committee

  4. BB, julian castro agrees with you

    the guardian:

Julián Castro, the lone Latino to run for the Democratic presidential nomination this year, has warned at the outset of the party’s convention Democratsrisk losing Latino support if they do not make greater efforts at inclusion.
    […]
Castro spoke as activists directed a welter of criticism at the Democratic National Committee for inviting only three Latino politicians to speak independently during the four-day convention. Just as many Republicans had been invited to speak, critics said.

  5. I haven’t said it since the 1950s commie scare added “under God” and I didn’t like it much before then.  We are the only country on the planet that semi requires a loyalty oath.

  6. We still don’t know all the entertainers.  Considering the possible weight of Puerto Ricans in Florida this year, he could very well be scheduled but still unannounced.

  7. Demmit. LAL v. Portland in same timeframe as the convention. I’ll have to do occasional check ins…if I don’t doze off.

  8. It was nice to hear Jimmy and Bill always has a way with words, but that really brings up the age thing.  Not that tRUMP is a spring chicken, but Bill is younger than Joe.    Biden has good genes, but hearing Jimmy and Bill just made me think of age, which I hadn’t really thought about before with Biden or Warren.

  10. It’s nice when there’s a crowd once in awhile.  I like Pennsylvania.   (I’ll bet Repugz will have crowds cheering.)

  11. Dr. Jill is a good end to the night, although she was bordering on plagiarizing the Bee Gees.
IMHO she has framed this campaign. Joe is a good man. (See any of that in Donald?) He cares about you and America. He’s what America needs. He’s what America wants.

  12. We missed all of the show tonight because we were evacuating during that time.  I think the whole freakin county is on fire.  There is a fire still threatening where we are now and if it is still a problem  tomorrow we will go to SF.  This sucks

  13. KGC, good to hear you made it out okay. did the pets come with you?

so sorry you and mr C are having to negotiate such a perilous move during a perilous pandemic.

had to smile though when i read your “tomorrow we will go to SF.  This sucks.”  not many would describe a possible trip to ‘frisco that way.
