Can Europe Stop Them?

Trump and Putin finally stopped pretending. The “deal” is exactly what it sounds like: force Ukraine to surrender and call it peace.

Zelensky said the quiet part out loud yesterday. They’ve been given a week to choose between “our dignity” and the U.S. partnership they’ve relied on since 2022. It’s not subtle. It’s extortion wrapped in diplomacy.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth: this is where the road has been heading for months. For reasons nobody can explain without needing a shower, Trump is handing Ukraine to Putin. Not negotiating. Not mediating.

Handing. It. Over.

Europe is all that stands in the way. They know it. Washington knows it. Moscow knows it.

Brussels will put out its counterproposal today. That’s the hinge. Either Europe builds a spine big enough for two continents… or Putin gets exactly what he’s wanted since 2014.

There’s no mystery here. No chessboard. Just consequences.
