Brown rice. Sweet rice. Sushi rice. Porridge mix. and more. I eat a lot of Asian meals so I cook a lot of rice, it can be twice daily. My rice cooker is like a regular kitchen utensil. I put the rice and water in, close the lid, set the type of rice and hit start. When it is done I have wonderful rice.
It can be used as a steamer, I have steam pots, steamer trays and more to steam foods so the rice cooker does not do that work.
