Just stumbled upon this incredible Polish guitarist, Marcin Patrzalek. Had to share. There’s a touch of Flamenco in his interpretation of 5th Symphony, really inventive and interesting.

wow, good discovery, craig.
in case you missed her, tylenol left us this message in the wee small hours of last thread:
oh, canada, not you too with the Q-nuts!
jimmy does a good turn on the ivermectin nitwits starting at 3:00 minutes in the video below
Jimmy returns to the show after his summer off and addresses the many comments of concern for his well-being, being apart from Guillermo, our new set, the number of new COVID cases being up 300% from a year ago, people taking livestock medicine to fight the Coronavirus and internet lunatic Alex Jones giving it a big endorsement, Dr. Jill Biden returning to the classroom, Jeff Bezos investing in a company that intends to reverse the human aging process, and Jimmy thanks the many talented people that filled in for him this summer and shares a video of their fondest memories from hosting.
hmmm, wonder if dumbing down is our way of “shapeshifting”

OTOH, crooksandliars described the rally as “a grift worthy of his former boss” and about the instigator
so it just may be another one of those scams we’ve grown to know and loathe; however, i’d advise folks think again about travel anywhere near DC on the 18th.

Holy schitte, Poobah. That young man is incredible. Percussive style guitar is very demanding, particularly on an acoustic.
Good to see Tylenol retuning. Nice to get the Canadian perspective again, eh?
Good also to see the return of the late night comics. Jimmy is one of the best. Trevor re-engages next week.
Two, nice surprises; music & the return of ty.
Ty, I’m sorry the q-razies have infected Canada.

The Taliban wants to be recognized as the official govt of Afghanistan’s, and, they want funds unfrozen and international aid.
Anyone they won’t allow to leave is a HOSTAGE.
Join the herd. Talk to your doctor if you think Ivermectin is right for you.

Beethoven in any form is awe inspiring, but the 5th on a guitar is especially rad.
I used to have one on my Crab Site, but it was electric guitar “shredding” type of thing
Oh wow… Sunday Serendipity on a Wednesday!
I saw this guitarist perform on America’s Got Talent a few yrs ago. He was amazing then and he’s amazing now.
Ty… So glad to have our Canadian friend back with us!
Thank you Craig. Beauty is good any day of the week.
Welcome back Tylenol
Have a seat around the cracker barrel and sit a spell.
I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading Tylenol
Hi, Tylenol. i listen to a lot of Canadian comedy, so now i know a lot of Thunder Bay and Swiss Chalet jokes.
Agree about doom-scrolling: i’ve also had enough. One must stay informed to be a responsible citizen, so what’s the balance? 🤔

It looks like Rusher doesn’t have a monopoly on trying to foment civil unrest here.
“A pro-Chinese government online influence operation is targeting Americans in an effort to exploit divisions over the Covid-19 pandemic and “physically mobilize protestors in the US in response…”
“This direct call for physical mobilization is a significant development compared to prior activity, potentially indicative of an emerging intent to motivate real-world activity outside of China’s territories…”

isn’t that the truth. seems every dem prez in my memory has come to office in the midst of some kind of crisis caused by their predecessor that they had to dig the country out of…. then they get blamed for moving too slow and not being perfect.
Hello! Nice to see everyone!
A little about Canadian elections: there are four parties in this country that reasonable people would say are progressive — the Liberals, the New Democrats, the Green Party and the Bloc Quebecois – who are progressive but are Quebec-centric. There are two parties that are on the right. The Conservative Party of Canada and the People’s Party of Canada — the right wing and the right wing nut job parties, respectively. The right wing nutjob party are the ones who are organizing those horrible protests, but the right wing party is pretty bad — all the party platform stuff that makes 70% if this country cringe. So the problem is the progressive vote is spread over far too many parties. I’m hoping that the right wing nut job party peels off enough support from the conservatives in enough voting districts that the Liberals will win — a decisive win.
This is debate week so by the end of the week the polls will settle a bit depending on perceived knock-out punches, etc.
In the meantime, I sip my tea and make pithy remarks on social media.
I must say, I’m really enjoying Jen Psaki’s daily bitch-slapping on that Doosy Jr fella. Now that’s fun!
Be well, everyone!
It’s $3.5 trillion OVER A DECADE! It fits in a tweet so why not include that detail in every article and TV report about the Biden bill?
craig, which is $350 billion per year and a lot less than that former guy’s tax cut bill which was calculated to be more than $500 billion per year.
reposting excerpt from oped by the economist greenstein at Budget reconciliation: Calling it a ‘$3.5 trillion spending bill’ isn’t quite right | TheHill

Psaki added: “I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified, or not political, to serve on these boards, but the President’s qualification requirements are not your party registration, they are whether you’re qualified to serve and whether you’re aligned with the values of this administration.”
POTUS Joe is saving money by not continuing the war in Afghanistan.
https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/08/31/metro/biden-cited-brown-researchers-measuring-cost-afghan-war-heres-background/
“The war in Afghanistan cost $300 million a day for two decades, according to the “Costs of War” project, which is team based out of Brown University.”
“They estimate that about $800 billion went to direct war-fighting costs, $85 billion went to training the Afghan army (which folded), and U.S. taxpayers have been providing Afghan soldiers about $750 million each year in payroll.“
https://watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/figures/2021/human-and-budgetary-costs-date-us-war-afghanistan-2001-2022
“Since invading Afghanistan in 2001, the United States has spent $2.313 trillion on the war, which includes operations in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Note that this total does not include funds that the United States government is obligated to spend on lifetime care for American veterans of this war, nor does it include future interest payments on money borrowed to fund the war. This $2.313 trillion spent on Afghanistan is a portion of the total estimated cost of the post-9/11 wars.“
https://www.texastribune.org/2021/09/08/abortion-pregnancy-timeline-texas/
“But calling it strictly a six-week ban fails to take into account the nuance in circumstances many people face when it comes to pregnancy, according to medical professionals and leading medical organizations.”
“For one, medically, the length of pregnancy is not typically measured from the date of conception. Instead, the new law notes, “pregnancy is calculated from the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period.”
But this traditional method assumes a person has regular periods that normally occur about every 28 days, or four weeks. Many women have more irregular periods.
“And ovulation, or when an ovary releases an egg, usually occurs about two weeks after the end of a woman’s last menstrual period.”
“So on the day that you’re actually ovulating, sending out the egg, and you have a chance for conception, by convention we’re saying that you’re two weeks pregnant at that point,”
“Under previous Texas law, an ultrasound must be a performed 24 hours before a person receives an abortion, condensing an already limited window of time and requiring a person to make two visits. During the ultrasound, the doctor has to describe sonogram images to the person and also check for any presence of cardiac activity. Some interpretations of the new law suggest another ultrasound would need to be done at the second visit to confirm cardiac activity hasn’t developed.“
https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/08/politics/joe-manchin-senate-reconciliation-demands/index.html
“…Manchin is making clear he won’t cave on aggressive climate provisions sought by many Democrats, throwing a wrench in his party’s efforts to make the bill key to combating global warming.“
“…talked privately with Manchin to hear his concerns about provisions on free community college and universal pre-K — …”
“…Manchin has engaged in long discussions with rank-and-file Democrats as well, including Sen. Michael Bennet over the Colorado Democrat’s push to broaden and bolster the child tax credit, which the West Virginian wants to bring down to a level far lower than what many in his party want,…”
“What remains to be seen is whether the Senate chairs ultimately cater to Manchin’s demands or try to railroad him into making a choice: Approve the most sweeping piece of domestic legislation in decades — or be responsible for sinking it singlehandedly.”
DINO Joe and his big ego are gonna ruin everything.
