Wiki: Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based street artist, political activist, and film director whose real name and identity remain unconfirmed and the subject of speculation. Active since the 1990s, his satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti executed in a distinctive stencilling technique. His works of political and social commentary have appeared on streets, walls, and bridges throughout the world….
Banksy displays his art on publicly visible surfaces such as walls and self-built physical prop pieces. He no longer sells photographs or reproductions of his street graffiti, but his public “installations” are regularly resold, often even by removing the wall on which they were painted.

U.S. Troops Told Iran War Is For ‘Armageddon,’ Return Of Jesus
More than 110 similar complaints about commanders in every branch of the military had been logged by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation from Saturday morning through Monday night.
A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer.
Complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations, the MRFF told substacker Jonathan Larsen’s Monday night. They remain anonymous to prevent retribution by the Defense Department. The Pentagon did not immediately respond to Larsen’s request for comment.
One complainant identified themselves as a non-commissioned officer in a unit currently outside the Iran combat zone but in Ready-Support status, deployable at any time. The NCO said they were Christian and emailed the MRFF on behalf of 15 troops, including at least 11 Christians, one Muslim, and one Jew.
The NCO wrote to the MRFF that their commander “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.”
Mikey Weinstein reported said his office was “innundated with calls.”
These calls have one damn thing in freaking common; our MRFF clients [service members who seek MRFF aid] report the unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new “biblically-sanctioned” war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian “End Times” as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation.
Many of their commanders are especially delighted with how graphic this battle will be zeroing in on how bloody all of this must become in order to fulfill and be in 100% accordance with fundamentalist Christian end of the world eschatology.

Midterms, what midterms?
As Flatus might point out, an idea overlying the Cold War was;
MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION.
1) If Hegseth and company were actually Christians, it would be pretty conceited of them to think they could initiate the second coming.
2) If they intend for a bloody “end of the world,” why are so many in and near the regime betting on war with insider knowledge to make money, creating crypto crap, and grifting at every opportunity?
3) The billionaires all have bunkers, but even if they survive, what good do resources and no worker bees do for them?
4) Did Elon have all of those kids do he’d have organ donors while he rides out nuclear winter in his bunker?

another factor with Crockett and Talarico — how would they vote on conviction if a Dem House impeaches him after the midterms? That would have been my debate question but i don’t think it was asked.

Kristi Noem testifying at the Senate this morning. We Can have some fun with that.
Midterms? Hegseth and his lackeys are calling this a religious war. A war they started with no Congressional approval. The tRUMP regime is all stupid and/or crazy, as is anyone who supports them. Claiming they are inciting the second coming?
W Bush started that nonsense, and he’s a Methodist – except that’s not part of the doctrine so no idea who told him that. The rapture isn’t part of the doctrine, and as for any second coming, they point to the book of Matthew and ‘not even the angels knowing the hour nor the day’ – we we taught that we are the hands and feet of Christ on Earth, so there was no waiting for his return thing – zero magic.
Supposedly a blue wave will add many dem seats in the house, right?
Assuming there are elections.
I would also hope a district which voted in Crockett would also follow her with another dem .
Assuming there are elections.
I feel sure that Ms Crockett has examined the ramifications of her possibly leaving the house for the senate.
I trust her.
Pog – Not sure about this morning, but last night gas was still $2.59 at 3 of the 4 stations in town, but one was $2.99.

today’s meme…
While the idea of “end times” has been part of Christianity from the beginning, the modern interpretation with its constant regular promotion in failed dates is something new and only dates from mid 1800s.
Rise of Dispensationalism:
In the 1830s, John Nelson Darby introduced dispensationalism, which introduced the idea of a secret “Rapture” that removes believers before a7-year tribulation, fundamentally altering earlier, post-tribulation views.
Pre-Tribulation Rapture: This view grew in popularity in the 20th century, particularly in North America, focusing on separating the “Rapture” (catching away of the church) from the Second Coming.
Apocalypticism as Console/Identity: End-times thought remains popular during times of political and social crisis, offering comfort and helping to define religious, social, or political identities.
The German healthcare system is a highly regarded, universal, multi-payer system providing comprehensive care through a mix of Statutory Health Insurance (SHI) for 90% of the population and Private Health Insurance (PHI). It is characterized by high, solidarity-based funding (14.6% + supplementary contributions), free choice of doctors, and a self-governing structure, but faces challenges with an aging population, bureaucracy, and digital adoption.
Compulsory Coverage: Almost everyone living in Germany must have health insurance, either statutory (public) or private.
Solidarity Principle: Costs are shared by members and employers based on income, ensuring equal access regardless of premium levels.
Self-Governance: The government sets the legal framework, but providers (doctors, hospitals) and insurers (sickness funds) regulate the system.
Access & Quality: Patients can generally choose their own doctors and specialists. The system offers high standards of care and is one of the best in the world, though it has high spending.
Structure: Primarily, it operates with statutory insurance, with options for private insurance for high earners (over €73,800 annually in 2025) or civil servants.
Healthcare in Denmark is largely provided by the local governments of the five regions, with coordination and regulation by central government, while nursing homes, home care, and school health services are the responsibility of the 98 municipalities. Some specialised hospital services are managed centrally.
Danish government healthcare expenditures amount to approximately 10.4% of the GDP, of which around 84% is funded from regional and municipal taxation redistributed by the central government. Because necessary healthcare is taxpayer-funded, personal expenses are minimal and usually associated with copayments for certain services. Those expenses are usually covered by private health insurance.
For every 1,000 people in Denmark, there are about 3.4 doctors and 2.5 hospital beds. Spending on hospital facilities, at 43% of total health care spending, is above the average for OECD countries, even though the number of beds has decreased considerably. Child vaccination coverage is over 90%. Mortality from heart disease decreased in the years up to 2015, while life expectancy increased.

TEXAS VOTE COUNT: When Will We Know?
Expect the first massive data dump (early/mail-in) around 7:15 PM CST. While 80%+ of totals often land early, final Election Day tallies from Harris and Dallas counties usually grind until midnight. This is what Cornyn did in the general the last time he ran. She (MJ Hegar) had him on the ropes after his lackluster debate.
The money to Cornyn’s campaign afterward was incredible.
He won: Approximately 5.9 million to 4.8 million
https://www.newsweek.com/kristi-noem-hearing-live-dhs-john-kennedy-11613027
In a notable moment of GOP criticism, Kennedy cited more than $200 million spent on DHS television ads, saying the expense could draw backlash from budget hawks such as Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought.
Kennedy repeatedly asked Noem if Trump had approved the $220 million price tag for the campaign which heavily featured Noem, telling her he did not believe the president would have green-lit it. The senator said it troubled him that such a campaign would go ahead when the government is “scratching for every penny”.
*Noem tried to argue that the ads were effective, not that the funds weren’t properly appropriated. And then there is the matter of Noem’s ties to the media company that were OVERPAID to produce them, although they shouldn’t have been produced at all, IMO,
“Well, they were effective in your name recognition,” Kennedy told Noem. “To me, it puts the president in a terribly awkward spot.”
Texas Monthly: “Hispanic Texans have been moving in the Republican direction in recent elections. You told Vanity Fair that Hispanic voters who support Trump have a ‘slave mentality.’ How are you going to get them to vote for you with that kind of rhetoric?”
Jasmine Crockett: “Donald Trump said he grabbed people by the p—y and that he could get elected even after killing somebody. I have found that real people are not dissuaded by the fact that I have laid some things out.”
Some politicians, in a similar situation, might have seen the question as an opportunity to try and patch up damage done by a previous statement, or to try and redefine their views on a critically important constituency. As Jasmine Crockett frequently points out, however, she is a different type of politician.
Also, it’s not clear here who Crockett means when she says “real people.” In any case, Crockett doesn’t appear to be worried about her characterizations of Latinos. That may or may not be true for Latino voters. In any case, let’s look at “some things” that she “laid out.”
Crockett then explained that she has learned more about the Latino community since 2016. “In my later years, I’ve learned about all the complexities within the Latino community . . . I can say that the immigration thing has always been something that has perplexed me about this community. It’s basically like, ‘I fought to get here, but I left y’all where I left y’all and I want no more y’all to come here. If I wanted to be with y’all, I would stay with y’all, but I don’t want ya’ll coming to my new home.”
Here Crockett again lumps all Latinos together, but in slightly different ways. For instance she frames the issue like all Latinos are immigrants.
*Also, her comments about black men not voting for Kamala Harris as being only misogynistic (it could also have been Gaza or apathy or other things, plus misogyny) and that she “doesn’t trust white women.” The context of that last statement won’t matter to voters, because Repugz will exploit it.
How in the heck does she think she could win the general with this baggage? I mean, her response to her own words was to point to Donald tRUMP’s rhetoric was that “real people” don’t care what I said about Latinos. ???
Watch the exact moment Hillary realizes the GOP broke their own rules—and brilliantly adds “for now” to avoid contempt of Congress before storming out.

“Those billionaires want to keep us from seeing all that we have in common. They want to keep us from realizing there’s far more that unites us than divides us. Because once we do, we’ll come together — across party, across race, across gender, across religion — to fix what’s broken in our country and take back power for ourselves and our communities.

https://www.texastribune.org/2026/02/20/texas-senate-dark-money-superpacs-talarico-hunt-crockett-paxton-cornyn/
The latest campaign finance reports show big-money interests are heavily invested in the Texas primaries — but unwilling to reveal their identities at a critical juncture of the race.
The pro-Talarico super PAC, Lone Star Rising PAC, disclosed that it got $3.75 million of its money for the period from another super PAC called Government That Works PAC. That group’s report for January showed that it received $4 million from the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a leading dark-money hub for Democrats that has previously been associated with Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss and Democratic megadonor George Soros.
Some of the notable individual donors to Lone Star Rising PAC were LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman, who gave $500,000, and Austin philanthropist Simone Coxe, who contributed $400,000.
The anonymous funding is more politically sensitive for the Democratic candidates, who are running on platforms that include getting big money out of politics. Talarico has been critical of “corporate PAC money” and dark money, though he’s responded that he is not going to “unilaterally disarm,” when confronted about questions of super PACs supporting his campaign.
When the pro-Talarico group started running negative ads against Crockett earlier this month, she released a statement suggesting he was a hypocrite. A Talarico campaign spokesman responded by emphasizing that campaigns and super PACs cannot coordinate under federal law and that the Talarico campaign had “no involvement” with the advertising.
“And when James has the power to change federal law in the U.S. Senate, he will fight to ban super PACs like this one,” the spokesman, JT Ennis, said.
Crockett also has a super PAC supporting her — Texas Forward — but it did not start spending in the race until after the deadline that would force it to disclose its most recent donors before the March 3 primary. That makes the money boosting her also effectively anonymous for now.
*Well, this will be a problem; Reid Hoffman is in the EPSTEIN files. Did he make contribution to taint Talarico’s campaign?
Remember when Pam Bondi was testifying and DARVOed Senator Whitehouse saying he’d received a donation from Reid Hoffman? Whitehouse checked with his staff and there was no evidence of said donation.
Talarico needs to reject that donation, as Beto O’Roarke did a donation from Sam Bankman-Fried.
He’s also got trouble with a donation from Miriam Adelson. An AIPAC event from 7 years ago doesn’t show continuity of support for/from Israel. The specter of George Soros, as usual. Has anyone ever seen the guy? I seriously only know his name and that he’s wealthy.
Beware of donors trying to poison your well.

This planetary annihilation has been the white Christian nationalist plan for decades. Their entire nihilistic Revelation-based theological worldview rests on the destruction of this world so that God can send back his son to do his righteous renovation. This helps understand why the most deeply indoctrinated of MAGA Christians have no interest in Jesus’ instructions about loving their neighbors, feeding the poor, healing the sick, and welcoming the stranger. Their gaze is so laser-focused on the afterlife that this life is almost irrelevant, as is the suffering of people in the here and now.

Satellite imagery from Planet and Airbus appears to confirm extensive damage to U.S. military facilities across the Middle East following Iranian retaliatory strikes. Two satellite communications terminals were destroyed at the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama, Bahrain.
Additional damage has been reported in Kuwait, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates, including impacts near Ali Al Salem Air Base, Camp Arifjan, Erbil International Airport, and Jebel Ali Port.
While casualties have been reported in Kuwait, the full scale of destruction remains under assessment. The strikes mark a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, raising urgent regional security concerns.

CIA working to arm Kurdish forces to spark uprising in Iran, sources say
Iranian Kurdish armed groups have thousands of forces operating along the Iraq-Iran border, primarily in Iraq’s Kurdistan region. Several of the groups have released public statements since the beginning of the war hinting at imminent action and urging Iranian military forces to defect. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been striking Kurdish groups and said on Tuesday that it targeted Kurdish forces with dozens of drones.
Any attempt to arm Iranian Kurdish groups would need support from the Iraqi Kurds to let the weapons transit and use Iraqi Kurdistan as launching ground.
In recent days, the Israeli military has been striking Iranian military and police outposts along its border with Iraq, in part to lay the groundwork for the possible flow of armed Kurdish forces into northwest Iran, one of the sources said. An Israeli source said those strikes are likely to intensify in the coming days.
*And what happens if the Iranian government is overthrown? Can US Israel be trusted to let it end with any new government? No, I didn’t think so.

The Dallas and Williamson County Republican Parties refused to agree to a joint primary election.
That decision forced voters out of the countywide voting system they’ve used for over a decade and sent them scrambling to find their assigned precinct.
The result? Confusion, long lines, and working people being told they’re at the wrong location with no clear path to cast their ballot.
https://www.fox4news.com/news/texas-primary-2026-live-updates
4 p.m.
We’re hearing reports from some Dallas County voters who were turned away at their polling location because of incorrect listings on the Secretary of State website.
U.S. Senate candidate Jasmine Crockett issued a statement related to this.
“The Dallas County Republicans and Williamson County GOP chose to implement precinct-specific voting locations for election day. Under state law, this forced the local Democratic parties to follow suit against our will. Both Dallas and Williamson county voters have grown accustomed to countywide voting, including on election day. This effort to suppress the vote, to confuse and inconvenience voters is having its intended effect as people are being turned away from the polls. We are monitoring the situation and working with our local county party to explore all solutions, including an extension of election day voting hours.
I’m asking all voters in Dallas and Williamson Counties to check their county’s election website or their voter registration card and identify the correct polling location for today. Do not give up and do not give in. The only way we can put an end to these maneuvers is by outvoting the Republicans and kicking them out of office. I’m calling on you to go out and cast your ballots so they know — Texans don’t appreciate having their votes suppressed and we won’t take it lying down.”
This was a dry run for November…assuming there will be midterms…or a November.
This is fun. As Trump gets more decrepit, as his mortality sinks in, the more MAGAts will chew on their own limbs to get ahead — in media and political spheres.
https://www.texastribune.org/2026/03/03/donald-trump-texas-endorsements-republican-primaries-2026/
Trump has backed over 130 candidates ahead of Tuesday’s primary, making it the biggest test of his intraparty strength in Texas yet. While he has stayed out of some of the blockbuster contests — most notably the U.S. Senate primary — he has otherwise spread his endorsement generously in an effort to further remake the state in his political mold.
“We’ve got to win the midterms,” Trump said Friday during an event in Corpus Christi that was ostensibly meant to discuss energy policy but doubled as a de facto pre-primary rally. “We brought this country back. We don’t want to lose the midterms.”
*Adolf is afraid to back Paxton or Cornyn in the primary. He can’t be seen backing a loser in a race everyone is paying attention to; it’s a reflection on him.

Meet the 22-Year-Old Trump’s Team Picked to Lead Terrorism Prevention
One year out of college and with no apparent national security expertise, Thomas Fugate is the Department of Homeland Security official tasked with overseeing the government’s main hub for combating violent extremism.
According to LinkedIn, the bulk of Fugate’s leadership experience comes from having served as secretary general of a Model United Nations club.
ProPublica sent DHS a detailed list of questions about Fugate’s position, his lack of national security experience and the future of the department’s prevention work. A senior agency official replied with a statement saying only that Fugate’s CP3 duties were added to his role as an aide in an Immigration & Border Security office.
“Due to his success, he has been temporarily given additional leadership responsibilities in the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships office,” the official wrote in an email. “This is a credit to his work ethic and success on the job.”

*Well, of course he did. Wouldn’t expect anything less than the worst from Orange Adolf’s administration.
“Patel terminated a dozen employees and staff after accusing them—without providing evidence—of improperly investigating Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
The FBI director specifically gutted a group known as CI-12, a counterintelligence unit tasked with monitoring threats from Iran and its proxies.”
*Bringing up the old stolen documents case now, and the firing this specific group right before we attacked. Hmm.
“PLEASE DON’T RELY ON THE US GOVERNMENT”
Pretty much sums it up, Craig.
All of those influencers are stuck in Dubai.
Also interesting in that recorded message they call it “the crisis in the Middle East”. This is the voice of the government that started the “crisis”.
Wow Talarico at 76% in Austin — his home base, of course, but that’s a big lead
Crazy crazy in Dallas — state supreme court, on a petition from Paxton, just overturned the judge’s order for an extension of closing time, saying the people in line after the original closing time can’t be counted!!!
Williamson county is right next to Austin & that was another county where there was a kerfuffle like Dallas due to polling places.
Can folks in line demand a provisional ballot? I was always told to stay in line!
I wish I were sitting up in your TV room, Craig.
Crockett just announced no results until tomorrow. Think she got wind Talarico ready to declare victory.
61% of Dallas in, Crockett at 60%. Think she needs way more than that from her home base. Talarico ahead all over the rest of the map.
My takeaway as i turn off the data machine: Texas Republicans created this mess in Dallas to deny Talarico a big media victory night. It has begun.
TX GOP is only afraid of Talarico in Dems’ imagination
the BiDs and Fugelsangs of the Land understand American Christo-fascism is about control and exclusion, yet remain hopeful some sincere genuine adherent is going to sway the racists with, i dunno, Bible quotes or some shit

While the president boasts that the strikes could continue for several more weeks, military leaders are sounding the alarm behind the scenes about U.S. air defense stockpiles running out if the fighting goes on that long.
“The mood here is intense and paranoid,” one insider told The Washington Post.
“At this point, it’s on. It’s not like we can say: ‘Hey, Iran, we’re out of missile defense systems now so we’re going to pause for a moment. Is that okay?’ It will stretch our ability to defend everything that we need to defend,” the House Armed Services Committee’s top Democrat, Rep. Adam Smith said, characterizing U.S. resources as “stretched thin.”

Nobody will ever sway the hardcore MAGAts, but it will allow space for those who know they made a mistake to make a new choice and still feel like they haven’t actually strayed because Jesus, or whatever.
Whatever is going on with Adolf neck, it’s interesting that it’s the same side as the magic ear.

US launches military operations in Ecuador
The joint military operation with Ecuador targeted what the U.S. called “designated terrorist organizations” in the country.
*Well, FFS, did anyone have Ecuador on their bingo card? Adolf is going for the Americas. Elbows up, Canada!

Texas Supreme Court blocks voting time extension in Dallas County
Just before that extension ended, the Texas Supreme Court temporarily blocked the order, saying voting should only happen “as permitted.”
The issue came after voting locations in some counties, notably Dallas and Williamson, were restricted to specific precincts. According to voters and lawmakers in those areas, mixups on election sites have led to people showing up in places where they can’t vote.
The hours were not extended for Republicans as they did not seek the same change, Jenkins said.
The order below, signed by Judge Staci Williams, is in response to a specific request by the Democratic Party of Dallas County, though the order itself does not make the distinction between parties.
In a later press conference, U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Dallas) commented on the matter.
“I am here to say that it is wrong for it to be done to anyone, a Democrat or a Republican,” Crockett said in her speech. “But the Republicans didn’t even have enough sense or enough courage to go out there and try to get a court order on behalf of their constituents, the Republicans. So these hours are extended for the Democrats.”
The Supreme Court of Texas issued a temporary stay against the emergency order just before the 9 p.m. extension expired.
The order says votes cast by voters who were not in line by 7 p.m. should be “separated.”
One North Texas viewer reported being directed to a supposed Democratic voting location in Irving which, upon arrival, turned out to be a Republican location. From there, they were directed to a location in Farmer’s Branch, about 20 minutes away.
“We are deeply concerned about the reports of voters being turned away from the polls in Dallas and Williamson counties following the GOP’s implementation of precinct-specific voting locations for election day. We will continue to evaluate the situation on the ground and are calling for an extension of voting hours to ensure all Texans’ voices are heard in thief critical election.” -Talarico
ps – This is why we early vote if it’s an option.
They’ve never separated polling place by party in my decades as a TX voter. What is there angle? How did they get enough poll workers?
The only confusion I had was living in the city of Dallas, but in another county, and my ballot was split between two polling places in the general; one polling place was not clear, I ended up at the wrong school and had to go to a third location.
AP declaring Talarico winner. He’s got a heavy lift against Cornyn (or Paxton) in November.
