here’s the original story but let’s for the fun of it call the rich man Elon or Don for short, maybe rename the poor guy Jimmy and refer to the brethren as the magats:

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Bannon ain’t wrong

The person in question may be evil or not, i couldn’t say, but he certainly has disjointed thinking in a lot of contexts, an easy example being when he said “unrepentant racists must be purged from the Republican party” after purposefully using his platform to turbo-charge racist influence

A repentant racist is what they call “woke”, i.e. Democrat

…and playing both sides might have even been a form of bipartisanship in the past, but the Republicans for whom the person in question unethically leveraged his vast wealth to ensure they won everything don’t allow that

So, i agree, gtfo outta my country and take them shitty cars with you

Yep Anon, it might take a while but the Elon Trump bromance will end badly. Meanwhile I just posted that bannon “hels evil” quote to Elon’s X account. I find that when i troll Musk in replies to his X posts I get lots more Bluesky followers (now at 11.3k). He forces his posts on everyone, haters included, so it’s fertile ground.

The enemy of my enemy is my frenemy, not my friend, lest we forget Banananazi is a fascist.

ps -Is that “gulf” between Lazarus and the rich man called The Gulf of America? 🙂

FOX Trump bullshit aside, it was a Biden Boom for the history books. More jobs have been created under Biden than during the full terms of Trump, Obama, or Bush 43. https://www.axios.com/2025/01/10/iden-job-gains-obama-trump

Personally, it seems like denaturalizing and deporting Elon, while confiscating his US government-subsidized businesses, thus knocking him down from his richest man status, would be kinda fun to see.

Then, if tax breaks for Elon and his ilk were not extended and the money actually went to SS, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans, farm/food assistance (and if RFKJ focused only on healthy food and water), maybe MAGAts wouldn’t turn on tRUMPsky.

The Elon thing woke up some MAGAts. Some will happily hit the snooze button if Elon gets publicly dumped (and not just for show), and they’ll want Vivek gone, too. No more DOGE nonsense.

But, there is an Elon-shaped crack in the MAGAt sky, and that light won’t allow some to drift off, again.

Let’s not forget Project 2025, though; the agenda, by any name will hurt Americans. Let’s not pretend fascism won’t officially cross our threshold on January 20th. Let’s remember all of the critterz in Congress who’ve gone MAGAt.

Trump defenders never say what he did was OK, just complain that he got caught.

Jonathan Turley:

“The conviction should be overturned on appeal. However, the most lasting judgment will be against the New York court system itself in allowing this travesty of justice to occur”

Nice Jack. Something different. I like that

Dex, I forgot to post this yesterday. I love French press coffee – assuming the water and coffee are good. Mrs. P is fond of Dunkin’ Hazelnut, which I, as a supportive spouse, dutifully brew in our trusty Cuisinart drip maker and drink most days. However, when I just want coffee, I pull out the Bodum ( bought for $10 at a thrift store) and make a couple of cups of dark roast and just love it.

Ok, I read Turkey’s screed. I don’t reflexively disagree with Turley; I think he has good observations and knows how to apply the law although he does so through a conservative political filter 9 times out of 10. He may be right about the ultimate outcome of an appeal, but he may also be wrong. I’m not sure how an appeals court might view the application of the federal laws violated as the basis for a state felony, but I doubt that will be the basis of a reversal and vacation of the verdict. Turley’s hatred of democrats clouds his judgment- WTF does Kamala getting fewer votes than Joe had gotten in NYC or whether Alvin Bragg or Leticia James wanted to find a way to prosecute FF have to do with whether there was a legal basis for the case brought by Alvin Bragg against FF? The answer is none. And considering that the two FF employees who implemented the scheme FF directed were convicted for their crimes argues against Turley’s argument. Screw him and FF.

Presidential homes and libraries are always on our bucket lists. I got that from our dad who took us to The Hermitage when I was 8.

The optimism in Plains is grounded in the experience of other small towns known almost exclusively for their ties to a former president, which history has shown can still attract a crowd decades or centuries after that president has died.

The country’s food agency warned against using evergreens in food after the city of Ghent suggested an unusual form of recycling: spruce needle butter.
