sounds familiar —

Narcissistic personality disorder – Symptoms and causes – Mayo Clinic:

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them. People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence, they are not sure of their self-worth and are easily upset by the slightest criticism.

A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial matters. People with narcissistic personality disorder may be generally unhappy and disappointed when they’re not given the special favors or admiration that they believe they deserve. They may find their relationships troubled and unfulfilling, and other people may not enjoy being around them.

So Dumbass wants to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Now lessee, how long has the Gulf gone by “of Mexico“? Hint – more than 400 years. I wonder whether Mexico might have something to say about that?

Desi Lydic discusses Trump’s imperialist push ahead of his inauguration, including making Canada the 51st state, renaming the Gulf of Mexico, and possibly invading Greenland. Plus, Jordan Klepper is hyped about colonialism’s apparent comeback.

AP January 8, 2025.

In an overnight message Trump demands Biden and Congress include disaster relief for Los Angeles County.

In a message posted at 3:36 AM on his Truth Social platform President-elect Donald Trump called on President Joe Biden and Congress to fund disaster relief for LA County to address the devastation from wildfires threatening Los Angeles and Hollywood. In his message Trump called for the purchase and distribution of half a million rakes for LA residents to rake the ground in areas threatened by high winds and raging wildfires.

Curiosity question – it seems sfb only travels to a small number of states, primarily on the East Coast. There are been mutterings of phobias, golf courses, and hotels. Is this correct?

https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/08/politics/donald-trump-supreme-court-hush-money/index.html

“President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday urged the US Supreme Court to pause his sentencing in the hush money case, a highly unusual request that relies in part on the court’s decision last year to grant him broad immunity from criminal prosecution.”

“Trump’s emergency appeal arrived a day after a state appeals court in New York rejected his request to postpone his sentencing, which is set for Friday.”

*How can he go straight to SCOTUS? Oh, yeah. He owns most of them.

*Hmm, would it humiliate him if President Biden just pardoned him?

FF’s obsession with naming and nicknames is “global labelling,” a type of distorted thinking and cognitive disorder. Re-labelling the Gulf of Mexico to remove Mexico is a subset of that and a sign his mental illness is advancing.

The funny [read odd] thing is: He gives out with the babbblings of a mental patient—because Jimmy Carter is stealing his thunder—and ALL his sycophantic ass_lickers have to run anime turning somersaults of logic over it just as if it were real.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation on Tuesday targeting undocumented immigrants for deportation if they’re charged with nonviolent crimes such as shoplifting.

does this include speeding tickets?

I missed the Ronald Lauder-connection story.

The notion came from Ronald S. Lauder, the New York cosmetics heir who had known Mr. Trump since college. “A friend of mine, a really, really experienced businessman, thinks we can get Greenland,” Mr. Trump told his national security adviser. “What do you think?” That led to a special team being assigned to evaluate the prospects, resulting in a memo that laid out various options, including a lease proposal akin to a New York real estate deal.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/rest-of-world/who-is-chrystia-freeland-canadas-pm-probable-trump-called-toxic/articleshow/117043388.cms

“ becoming Canada’s next leader, however, is complicated by her strained relationship with former US President Donald Trump, who has called her “totally toxic and not at all conducive to making deals.” This remark came after their high-profile clashes during Trump’s presidency, particularly over trade issues.””

Freeland, who previously served as Canada’s foreign minister, became a key figure in the tense negotiations between Canada and the US over tariffs imposed by Trump on Canadian steel and aluminum, and Freeland was instrumental in negotiating changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).”

Used to enjoy Freeland on MSNBC. Of course, tRUMPsky thinks she’s “totally toxic.” She won’t let him grab her by the trade negotiations. A powerful woman is the orange moron’s worst nightmare.

First day this, first day that…yeah. Let’s invoke the 25th and remove this moron pronto. On the first day. It’s Golfo de Mexico anyway, really. Military takeover of Panama Canal Zone, why, the talk alone should rally Congress as to what a disaster is coming to 1600. Canada? What the hell is wrong with this demented bastard? Now Donnie is in Greenland trying to arrange a deal “for security”. Do you feel me here? STOP this idiot Donald from taking the oath. Nobody, NO BODY has ever seen anything like this except at the demolition derby at the county fair.

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum clapped back at President-elect Trump on Wednesday and said parts of the U.S. should be called “América Mexicana,” in response to Trump’s proposal to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” at a press conference on Tuesday.

Why it matters: The response, using a troubled history of the U.S.-Mexican War in 1846-8, signaled that the Sheinbaum administration would not be intimidated by Trump’s antics and threats.

$7.49 for eggs at King Soopers. No wonder folks are bitching.

Pogo

Thanks, Poobah. I meant every word.

Ivy, that’s the highest I’ve seen – that’s designer egg prices. Kroger’s fancy organic, farm raised, pasture fed eggs are $2 less than that. Still high, but their run-of-the-mill Grade A large eggs start at $3.22. We generally get the organic ones in either 18 or 24 ct. and get them at just less than $5 per dozen. We don’t eat a ton of eggs, but chicken, that’s a different story.

Egg and chicken prices. The Avian Flu is causing massive issues with poultry stocks and prices for meat and eggs. The big, rather huge, issue is the virus is not contained to domestic flocks. It is in th wild, the wild birds are flying around spreading the virus. The hunt for an anti-viral medication has been underway for years. If the domestic birds can be vaccinated it would be great. There is only one good thing for the next four years, stupid tends to not get too involved in screwing agriculture because it is dirt and smells funky. That would probably protect the budget to find a vaccine from him.

There have been no birds at my bird feeder this winter. As in zero. I had curtailed my seed offerings down to just thistle seed for the finches, but there are not even any of those showing up. I had doves last winter. They have not showed up this year either. Just one lonely squirrel. My spirit animal.

Pogo, Mr. Ivy does the shopping and he doesn’t always look carefully at prices. He was complaining about limited choices. I fished the receipt out of the trash to check the price. King Sooper is the Kroger brand here in CO.

Ivy – The birds are all here; cardinals, jays, crows, woodpeckers, sparrows. The weird, gray weasel-squirrels have gone through all of the nuts except the Brazils. They can’t open them or don’t think they look like any nut they’ve ever seen. IDK. The deer have been here, too. The birds eat on the deer block during the day, and the deer show up in the evening.

IvyGreen

BID, you are fortunate with such an abundance of woodland birds. What I wouldn’t give to see my cardinals. There are no cardinals in Colorado. I chase around to find them whenever I’m “back east.”

Ivy – bird feeding is one of those “do I or don’t I” things. I go with feeding with certain seeds and fats. Nothing the crows would be able to eat. Leftovers go to the rabbits and squirrels on the ground. We do have so many birds that I am often surprised by what came by for a snack.

someone chided me for buying the cheap store brand eggs instead of the cage free but i told them we put kids in cages so why should i care about chickens

a good context to discuss why liberalism has failed- too many contrived concerns like chicken welfare, no one has the bandwidth to be outraged about everything

they love to be outraged at exactly two things, however, a phenomenon rethuglicans have exploited

oh and the fellow egg-peruser was like “that’s a good point” 😑

they began perusing the cheap eggs also 😝

https://www.texastribune.org/2025/01/08/texas-house-steve-allison-republican/

“I just don’t really recognize the Republican Party”: Ousted state Rep. Steve Allison goes down swinging

“When [schools] have to lay off staff, lay off teachers, discontinue programs, that is moving towards a breaking point,” Allison said in a Dec. 18 interview. “The money was there this last session. And for it to be held up over this voucher scheme that could have just been separate, it’s really heartbreaking.”

“In a stunning rebuke to his party’s leaders, this fall Allison joined forces with the Democrat running for his seat who shared his views on school finance.”

“He’s also been speaking out about a messy 88th legislative session that left public schools scraping for money while Abbott cashed campaign checks from a billionaire voucher proponent and Attorney General Ken Paxton sought taxpayer dollars to cover his own legal defense.”
