  2. Pentagon spokesman chokes up while talking about Ukraine | The Hill

    “It’s hard to look at what he’s doing in Ukraine, what his forces are doing in Ukraine and think that any ethical, moral individual could justify that,” press secretary John Kirby began before appearing to become choked up and pausing for several seconds.  
    “It’s difficult to look at some of the images and imagine that any well-thinking, serious, mature leader would do that. So I can’t talk to his psychology. But I think we can all speak to his depravity,” Kirby added. 
    Kirby later apologized for becoming emotional, saying “I don’t want to make this about me.” 
    He then called Putin’s reasons for the invasion in Ukraine “BS.” 
    “It’s hard to square [Putin’s] … BS that this is about Nazism in Ukraine, and it’s about protecting Russians in Ukraine, and it’s about defending Russian national interests, when none of them, none of them were threatened by Ukraine,” said Kirby, pounding on the lectern for emphasis.  
    Kirby also listed several “unconscionable” actions by Russian troops, including the reports of civilians being “shot in the back of the head, hands tied behind their backs. Women, pregnant women being killed, hospitals being bombed. I mean, it’s just unconscionable.”

  14. Check out todays google doodle. It is cool. A homage to Route 66, the Mother Road, the road to the promised land. The road the Okies traveled, my family and neighbors traveled leaving the grinding constant poverty of the Ozark hills for the promise of California. They did it in the 30’s through the 60’s Some went back and forth. Going out working a while coming back, putting a payment down on a farm. Others stayed. I have almost as much family in California as I do here in Missouri.

Back in the 90’s, specifically June 1994, when I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, my world changed.  I was in a small group of people worldwide with a diagnosis of HepC.  It was just identified in the world outside the research laboratory.  We had only one drug to fight it with, Interferon.  Our view of the death rate was a little over fifty percent, the official rate was about twenty-five percent.  Typically your doctor would suggest writing your will as soon as possible.  That is if you were diagnosed with it.  I had to fight four positive results before convincing my doctor that it really was not a series of false results.  Six months later he did a puncture biopsy of my liver and I was told probably less than six months left.  I lucked out.
     
    Naomi Judd was not taking any of the science stuff.  She was promoting garbage treatments.  Same as the current idiots drinking bleach.  Taking horse wormer at least involves a real medication.  It is something that she made it this far. For a while I had her in the Dead Peoples Server as a soon to be corpse. I think that lasted a few years.
