Biden Losing Blacks

Meanwhile, where’s our Churchill on Putin: “Butchery and desolation. The terrible military machine, which we and the rest of the civilized world so foolishly allowed the Nazi gangsters to build up year by year from almost nothing. We cannot stand idle.” – – Churchill

  1. he’s back, unfortunately for some folk, maher that is not fearless leader beating dead horses.

Bill argues that it’s time for the Democrats to break some unwritten rules and find a way to put Barack Obama back in the White House.

  2. as to putie, could it be he’s wagging the dog?

threatening WWIII is definitely a way to get attention.

  3. My isolation from much of the world continues, which is contributing to my utter confusion as to why President Biden is a bad guy and nobody likes him (except me apparently).  He is doing a job and getting some things done against the same firefight that President Obama had, gqp obstruction.  The Congress is a mess, it deserves the mocking and hate being thrown at President Biden.

  4. remember when the big bad bear gobbled up crimea?

    from ABC in 2019:

Moscow’s annexation of Crimea drew U.S. and EU sanctions against Russia that hurt its economy, but the move boosted Putin’s popularity at home.

BTW how much, if any, of our high security info did or is twice impeached disgraceful former guy still giving vlad in payment for financial or election help?   remember this reuters story in 2017

Trump revealed intelligence secrets to Russians in Oval Office: officials

Image result for trump russians in oval office

  5. BB, my thoughts exactly.

need more folk to say as you do: “The Congress is a mess, it deserves the mocking and hate being thrown at President Biden.”

‘scepting i would focus more on blaming the senate than the house and mitch in particular

  6. Her name is Michelle Obama.

As for Biden’s favorability going down among blacks, it will go back up when he’s standing next to a racist. They’re all around, but the media isn’t spotlighting what the are, for some reason.

    I love POTUS Joe

  7. Who would Obama loudly support?  There’s your Dem candidate.

Why do we care about poll numbers right now?   Aren’t the polls, depending on their outcome, driving anyone’s popularity up or down?

  8. Metaphor of the Week

The Imp of the Perverse is
metaphor for the urge to do exactly the wrong thing in a given situation for the sole reason that it is possible for wrong to be done. The impulse is compared to an imp (a small demon) which leads an otherwise decent person into mischief.

DANVILLE — State police say three small monkeys were missing following a crash between a truck hauling a trailer and a dump truck this afternoon in Montour County.
According to Trooper Andrea Pelachick, a truck carrying 100 monkeys was involved in the crash on State Route 54 near the Danville exit of Interstate 80 just after 4 p.m.
At 9 p.m., Pelachick said state police are investigating the crash and securing the scene for representatives from the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other agencies.
Route 54 had reopened from crash cleanup by about 6:45 p.m., but police vehicles remained along the side of the road as officers searched in nearby wooded areas with flashlights.
Pelachick said the truck hauling the monkeys was on its way to a laboratory when the crash occurred. She said she did not know, as of 9 p.m., if any of the escaped monkeys had been recovered.

    @PSPTroopFPIO
Crash update: A small number of monkeys may have fled the crash scene into the surrounding area. If the public spots one, please keep your distance and call 911 immediately. Health and safety of residents and visitors is our top priority.

  10. that monkey story has the makings of a scary “contagion” type movie

or a very funny comedy if the coen bros have anything to do with it

  11. One of my weekend fun things is to check out the NY Times Book section.  Lots of books, some more interesting to me than others.  A noticeable lack of tell all books about President Biden, his family, his staff or his administration.  By this time, four years prior, you could have spent a few hundred dollars in tell all books about the criminal administration, with many more books coming out each year.

  12. speaking of mitch and the thread topic of who’s “losing Blacks”

    from chicago trib:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell pushed back Friday against the uproar over a comment he made about African American voters, calling the criticism directed his way “outrageous.”
McConnell had been accused of racism for saying that “African American” voters cast ballots at similar rates to “Americans.” The comment implied that Black voters are somehow not American and underscored the concerns of voting rights advocates that Republicans in state legislatures across the country are explicitly seeking to disenfranchise Black voters.
Following a speech Friday at an annual conference in Louisville, the Republican leader said he misspoke Wednesday when he made the comment during a Washington news conference.
“I’ve never been accused of this sort of thing before, and it’s hurtful and offensive,” he said. “And I think some of the critics know it’s totally nonsense.”

When asked what he would say to those who had been offended by his words, McConnell said he would discuss his record relating to voting rights, and brought up his role as a mentor to Kentucky’s Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who is Black and one of many Republicans who came to the minority leader’s defense this week.
“I think he would confirm with you that I recruited him to run. I’ve supported him, and I’m proud of him,” McConnell said. “I have had African American speechwriters, schedulers, office managers over the years.”
“Mitch McConnell wants you to know it’s fine for him to block Voting Rights because he has Black friends,” tweeted Booker, who unsuccessfully ran for McConnell’s seat in 2020 and is challenging GOP Sen. Rand Paul this year.

  13. Well, BB, patd, BiD & Sturg you can include me in the I Like Joe club. Do we get decoder rings and pins?

Anyone else get repeated “server stopped responding” messages? I don’t get these messages on any other websites.

  14. no snow, slight ice, just enough to be obnoxious.
no decoder rings, but great infrastructure stuff……

  15. At last I can say, “Not my circus, not my monkeys”.    Where were those damn monks going anyway……
The driver is quoted as saying, “I took ’em to the zoo……we had so much fun, I was taking them to the movies”.

  16. Wasn’t sure how far south the snow got. I saw that Virginia Beach got 5.5 inches and Pinehurst was snow covered & looked like several inches. We got 6-8” earlier in the week and it’s 1 degree F here today. Fair to say winter’s hit the East.

  17. The monkey pandemic movie suggested could work. Maybe get Dustin Hoffman and Renee Russo to star in it. Call it Outbreak or something.

  18. “the truck hauling the monkeys was on its way to a laboratory when the crash occurred”

pogo, naah, more fun than a barrel of them would be for the 3 monkees to be more like the escapees in “o brother where art thou.”  perhaps having specially been bred to be super smart and to solve puzzles like unlocking locks.  hearing they (and the lesser intelligent with them) were on the way to a testing lab (picture some cosmetic or pain killer company bought the lot cheap – ergo cruel capitalist characters of course would be the bad guys), they employed their new skills and busted out.

ahhh yes, plot of the odyssey plus peta

  19. there was this in 2014

  20. pogo – I get that message all the time, which is why I post in tiny bits and then edit. I’m placing the blame on Apple.

Just came back from the grocery store. Many empty shelves, but boxes full of items on the floor. I guess there’s nobody to stock shelves, so you have to dig for what you want want these days.

Run, monkeys, run! No good will come to them at a lab.

  21. Them monkeys r-u-n  o-f-t!

I guess humans have learned nothing about animals and human safety. Leave ‘em alone.

Opinion | How Fox News smeared Biden as calling school board parents ‘domestic terrorists’ – The Washington Post

    […]
There’s just one wee problem with the whole Biden-says-parents-are-terrorists claim, reported dozens of times on Fox News airwaves and echoed at each link down the Republican media food chain: It’s horse excrement. Biden never said it. Attorney General Merrick Garland never said it. No senior (nor even junior) official in the Biden administration has ever been shown to have said it. Yet Fox News presents it as unchallenged fact, week after week. (In response to my request, a Fox News spokeswoman provided me no instance of a Biden official calling parents domestic terrorists.)
It would be easy to overlook this one drizzle of disinformation in the torrent of falsehood the GOP-Fox axis produces. The network, which “informs” the majority of Republican voters, has painstakingly constructed a parallel universe in which vaccines kill you, Biden stole the election, Biden is senile, grade schoolers are being force-fed critical race theory, the FBI orchestrated the Jan. 6 insurrection, and the country is in an apocalyptic spiral of open borders, rampant crime and runaway inflation.
But let’s pause to dissect this particular smear, because the Biden-says-parents-are-terrorists fiction fits with a narrative sometimes described on Fox as Biden’s “war on parents.” It also sanitizes violence.
Fox’s Carlson and others have objected to the Jan. 6 insurrectionists being (accurately) labeled as domestic terrorists. If they can make it appear that Biden is “labeling anyone who disagrees with his policies … as domestic terrorists” (Fox’s Rachel Campos-Duffy), or that Biden is saying all “Trump supporters are effectively domestic terrorists” (as one of Carlson’s guests put it), then it’s just more condescension from liberal elites about “deplorables.”
“They are trying to turn half of the country into second-class citizens,” J.D. Vance, a Republican Senate candidate in Ohio, told Fox, with “Attorney General Garland going after parents as domestic terrorists.”
The basis for the smear is Garland’s Oct. 4 memo saying that, because of a “disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff,” the FBI would develop “strategies for addressing threats” with state and local authorities. It said nothing about parents being labeled domestic terrorists.
Fox News has reported that the administration “requested” a Sept. 29 “letter from the National School Boards Association calling parents domestic terrorists.” The administration denied this allegation (which was based on a third-hand remark in an NSBA email released under the Freedom of Information Act) and, in any event, the NSBA-written letter (it has since apologized for the language) also didn’t call parents domestic terrorists. It said that certain “heinous actions” of violence and threats against school officials “could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”
[and so it took off with a life of its own until as story concludes with capitol GOPers tsk tsking]
House Republican Whip Steve Scalise tells Fox that Biden’s DOJ is telling parents “that they’re domestic terrorists if they go to the school board meeting to say, ‘Stop teaching your kids to hate America.’ ”
“Parents don’t like being told that they’re domestic terrorists,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) tells Fox.
Indeed not. But thanks to Republicans and Fox News, millions of Americans can now add this to their long menu of lies digested.

  23. So Craig, where are they going to go, stay home? then what?
Lets start talking about the person who is really causing the problems right now.
Chuck Schumer, now there is an incompetent leader. He is the reason nothing is getting done.

    Jack

  24. Staying home is what worries me most, Jack. Housekeeping: I’m not getting that server error message, not sure how to investigate it but I’ll think on it.

  25. One thing the sfb cult is famous for is illiteracy. From the cult top of head to the bottom of the head they could not spell or edit their way on a two word sentence.  The latest is an invite to NOLA for another rant.  Read carefully.

  26. jack, someone like amy would be a good replacement.  she seems to have a knack for getting folks to work together – even those across the aisle – and that doesn’t appear to be chuck’s strong point.

  27. Craig – got it.  The use of “honorable” has been misused before for at least her and possibly a couple others in the cult.  Someday we will have a book tracing the various misspellings and use of incorrect honorifics to the various “lawyers”, cult members and staff.  A roadmap to idiocy, so to speak.  I am sure I heard several of the stupid things which had commonalities over the several years in hell we spent.  We do have a few years of Tweets to show what was put out by the head idiot and by others using that twitter id.  Something I do not look forward to, but do expect to hit the top of the non-fiction book lists.

  28. since when is Kellyanne an “Honorable” ??

craig, if restricted to distinguishing her from the others listed, perhaps the lister was making a subtle dig & personal assessment acknowledging none of the rest on the invite are honorable in the colloquial sense.

  29. https://www.thebulwark.com/to-crack-open-the-big-2020-election-scheme-start-by-prosecuting-the-fake-electors/

“If state and federal law enforcement authorities convene grand juries to investigate the low-level GOP officials who signed and submitted phony electoral certificates in the 2020 election, the entire conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election could unravel.“

“Law enforcement officials investigating the phony documents, as distinguished from a broader conspiracy, would not have to search for a crime—they already have the smoking guns, documents that are fraudulent on their face. Nor would they need to search for the culprits. The fraudsters signed their names to the phony documents, many of them proudly recording the act on video.“

“Without having to expend any political capital by opening a sweeping investigation targeting Donald Trump or those around him, prosecutors could chip away at the broader conspiracy.“

“A total of 59 individuals from five states signed the documents. “

“Can you imagine what would happen if 59 otherwise respectable burghers were hauled before a grand jury, facing a very real prospect of going to jail? How long do you think it would take for some or all of them to seek plea deals that would keep them out of prison? How quickly will they line up to identify those who told them to do it?“

While January 6th continues to hog the spotlight, this could roll up many Republicans.

  30. https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/22/politics/boris-epshteyn-trump-campaign-fake-electors/index.html

“Boris Epshteyn, an adviser for former President Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign, acknowledged Friday that he was part of the effort to prop up so-called “alternate electors” to support Trump in key states.“

“Epshteyn was among those working with Giuliani at the post-election Willard Hotel “command center” that sought to prevent Congress from certifying Biden’s election win on January 6, 2021. “

“Under state law, I think clearly you have forgery of a public record, which is a 14-year offense, and election law forgery, which is a five-year offense.”

  31. They misspelled Horrible, too.

Last one i saw try that “honorable ” crap was Omarosa.

  32. https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/21/opinions/joe-biden-first-year-is-not-a-failure-powers/index.html

“Ultimately, we need to remember that Biden entered the White House during one of the most difficult periods this country has ever faced. “The worst pandemic in 100 years. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression,” he said during his campaign. “The most compelling call for racial justice since the 60’s. And the undeniable realities and accelerating threats of climate change.” We can now add to that list an attack on democracy by one of the two major political parties.”

“It seems that whatever Biden’s flaws, the country is in a better place than it was when he took office, something that was not a given considering the challenges he was up against. “

  33. Is there anyone here who thinks Pooh-tin won’t invade?   He’s a one-trick pony. He’s not looking for a way out to save his ugly face. I hope he gets his ass handed to him. It’s just sad that death and destruction will happen because of this monster wearing a human suit.

  34.  people gonna keep fuckin around and drive manchin or sinema to gop.  THAT is gonna be some shit, right there.

  35. bId – I will be careful with my words – Will sfb idol invade any country right now (I think this is a better view)?

He has never held back his determination to rebuild the Soviet Union.  He is a KGB agent and knows much more about international dirty tricks than any president we have had. The Russians have been doing much more “poking” than in Ukraine.  The Russian agents have been doing things in Estonia, Finland, Hungry, Poland and more.  There are overflights by Russian airplanes of all these countries everyday. He is the dictator by decree and the public desire to be more like the old Soviet Union.  Russia is a third world country. Production of goods was improving but the move to be militaristic has caused issues for the people.

The military is good.  The quality of the air force and navy are suspect.  Some of the sailors and airmen would consider any attempt to attack a U.S. plane or ship a last attack.

My answer is the longer the diplomatic talks go on, the less likely he will pull the trigger.  He is not stupid.  President Biden standing there saying ANY soldier stepping into the Ukraine will bring a U.S. response was a kick in the teeth because he now knows that sfb is no longer supporting him.  It was sfb who said the U.S. would not back the Ukraine from being a NATO member and therefore was okay to invade.  That the Ukraine is not NATO only means they are not NATO.  President Biden was very clear that the U.S. was going to act as if the country was in NATO.

  36. I was rooting for the Titans… their coach, Mike Vrabel is one of my favorite former Patriots players.  But ya have to hand it to the Bengals… that was a storybook ending!

  37. Ha RR, it’s great unless you’re the one playing in the snow on icy turf.  Lucky I played high school football in Florida, didn’t have that problem, altho rainy mud was an issue.

  38. The two top seeded teams lost today. Altho I must say the winners today didn’t seem like Super Bowl champions.

Tomorrow I’m rooting for Tampa and the Chiefs. (Although Buffalo looked smoking hot last weekend)
