  1. here’s how rollingstone covered the head-on-pike threat:

In matters concerning the impeachment trial, Republican senators have been warned: if they go against Trump they should be prepared to reap the whirlwind. “Vote against the president and your head will be on a pike,” a source told CBS News’ Nancy Cordes.
The report did not say whether the threat came from Trump himself, the White House, or Republican leadership. There have been few signs of Republican Senators breaking ranks. All of the procedural votes, which set the rules for the trial, have fallen to defeat on party lines.
The tone set with this report was echoed by the White House’s Director of Legislative Affairs Eric Ueland, who told reporters on Thursday, “I can’t wait for the revenge.”

  2. Hmmm, I like it, but where would I put it?  I’m not sure I could even get that in the house, and I wouldn’t fill up my garage with it.

  3. “TAKE HER OUT.”     The Repugz have no choice but to vote to remove Trumpsky from office. VOTE HIM OUT!

  4. Well I am going to force myself to watch the White House managers case as well. Want to be able to say I watched the whole trial from start to finish or at least I was in front of the TV, can’t guarantee I was awake the whole time

  5. craig, be careful as to throwable objects within reach while you watch.

a pillow to scream into or punch at would be helpful to keep handy.

  6. Don’t know about the paint or where it’s going……it was parked in front of one of those high-dollar domiciles down there in billionaire-ville…..

  7. Megan Kelley.  🙄 Still drinking the Koolaid.  Shame – she coulda been the package – intelligent, attractive, articulate.  Oh, well, fox just moved on to the next blonde.  Her analysis of CNN is laughable – viewed through a lens warped by a love for SFB.  Pity.

  8. Sturg…   maybe some linseed oil or some other kind of varnish will do the trick.
Pogo…  saw Megyn live last night.  Koolaid…   my sentiments exactly.  She tried so hard to sound erudite and failed.  Now she’s just another attractive blonde on the pile of “used to be somebody as an attractive blonde”.

  9. RR luckily it’s not my problem lol…
im sure anybody goes to all that trouble (no square, no plumb) has some idea bout what to do widdit when it’s done.

  10. ugh i don’t want to spend my Saturday being lied to.
Didn’t Manafort’s seized assets pay for the Mueller probe?

  11. Well, i decided to do my bit for democracy and tune-in, but it’s over, already.  Must not have been much of a defense.

  12. Hey @SenatorCollins, @lisamurkowski and others faux offended by Schiff, how do you like this?

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) tweeted at 9:37 AM on Sat, Jan 25, 2020:

Our case against lyin’, cheatin’, liddle’ Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, Nervous Nancy Pelosi, their leader, dumb as a rock AOC, & the entire Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrat Party, starts today at 10:00 A.M.

  13. if he’s acquitted and senate says nothing further, even a little “tsk tsk” reprimand for being naughty about obstruction, it’s likely he’ll ramp up rigging with Russia the next election and perhaps even after that.
    as trekies would say:

IMpotus will go where no potus has gone before

  14. Hmmm, I wonder what the inspiration for the Space Force patch was. Very original. I hope Roddenberry’s estate sues.

  15. just saw some of the defense argument where cipollone whines about house is trying to overturn 2016 election.  I do hope in the rebuttal Schiff et al will point out that IMpotus’ removal does not mean the election will be overturned – reminding them they still will be in the white house with a republican administration but only without a bully running it.

  16. ~~~ Not that the RNC would lie, ~~~ but…

The RNC claimed that the Mueller investigation would “go down in history as one of the widest ranging and most expensive Special Counsel investigations ever.”

Total direct costs of other investigations from the Bill Clinton era have exceededMueller’s known spending — and that’s before adjusting for inflation.

For instance, investigations of Clinton over Whitewater and Monica Lewinsky, headed mainly by Kenneth Starr and his successor Robert Ray, cost around $70 million over about eight years.

Illustration for article titled Justice Roberts Sternly Admonishes Impeachment Participants To Remember They’re At Complete Farce Of A Trial

WASHINGTON—After he gaveled the Senate to order Wednesday afternoon, Chief Justice John Roberts sternly admonished both President Trump’s counsel and House impeachment managers to remember they were participating in a complete farce of a trial. “As you address members of this deliberative body, please bear in mind that nothing you say or do will have any effect on the completely predetermined outcome of these proceedings,” said Roberts, exhorting the two sides to go ahead and establish facts, promulgate lies, cite the Constitution, or engage in purely cynical bad-faith arguments, because none of it really mattered anyway. “I wish to remind you this trial is a hollow exercise of decorum with no possibility of achieving productive results of any kind. We’re just going through the motions here, we all know how it is going to end, so let’s at least try to keep it brief.” At press time, the chief justice had commended both sides for heeding his admonition and working to keep the monumental miscarriage of justice running smoothly.

  18. It’s clear Pelosi’s strategy thru her impeachment managers is to bake in GOP senators opposing a fair trial without witnesses or documents, and make them pay in November. Checkmate!

  19. The Des Moines Register endorsement (compared with who won the Iowa caucus):

    1988: Paul Simon (Richard Gephardt)

    1992: None (Tom Harkin)

    2000: Bill Bradley (Al Gore)

    2004: John Edwards (John Kerry)

    2008: Hillary Clinton (Barack Obama)

    2016: Hillary Clinton (Hillary Clinton)

  20. Checkmate!  That reminds me, have you seen the ad 2020 election chess set?  It comes with two, empty podiums for the Dems…until the nom P & VP are selected. I’m kind of tempted, because it has a little RBG.  But, it also comes you-know-who, as well as W & Cheney, Obama & Biden as rooks.    Were Biden to be the Dem nominee, the set would have two Joe Bidens.
I like Amy Klobuchar more every time I hear her.

  21. Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackle the week’s biggest news, like the case against President Trump being laid out during his impeachment trial.
