  1. So, because Rudy brought this up, there is no atty/client privilege & that’s why Lanny Davis could give the tape to the media.  Right?

Cash?  Trumpsky wanted to pay in cash so there would be no trail?  ~That sounds above board.~

Why does Trumpco want us focused on this right now?  To deflect from news of Putie’s trip to oversee the fall elections?   Something else?

  2. a nascar moment at TDF

Phillipe Gilbert is back in the race after he lost his balance and flipped over the wall during Stage 16 of the Tour de France.

  3. The tape won’t change a single thing as far as the narcissist losing supporters.  Remember – he could shoot someone in Times Square and not lose a single voter.

However, this is clearly a campaign finance violation as his campaign received direct benefit from this payment – so if he’s convicted and removed from office – well that’s something different.

  4. Well when you reach that age any number of things might kill you off, unfortunately for us he will probably drift off into increased senility. Which means given the Democrats current stupidity 6 more years, unless they amend the constitution, then it could be President for life. Hook him to life support prop him up in the corner.

    Jack

  5. Speaking of Democratic stupidity.

Bernie showed up here last week supporting the most unelectable candidate in the race.

If Kansan Dems are so stupid(and they maybe) it would garrantee a vulnerable seat becomes solid Republican. He brought in tow Ms Democratic Socialist from New York City.

“Democratic Socialist from New York City” lol a ready made attack ad.

With Bernie’s help I now predict that the Republicans are going to stay in power leaving the Dems to do what they love to do, whine about the unfairness of it all.

  6. On the bright side, I can still enjoy the new world order , while it lasts.

A Canadian orange liquor made with Italian brandy in my coffee from Guatemala.

Don’t tell Mrs Jack she doesn’t approve of drowning my sorrows this early in the morning.

The brandy also makes a great margarita. tequila from Mexico of course.

    Jack

  7. BTW

An update on Mrs Jack. She survived the first round of Chemo but it put her down for 3 days.

This is a woman who worked for 2 weeks 12 to 16 hs a day with a cold/flue, gulping major amounts of cold medicine even as it turned into Pneumonia.  Winning a multi million dollar contract then came  home where I made here go to the doctor who put her to bed where she wrote a grant that won  a local group  $20,000.

lol pneumonia didn’t slow her down but chemo did. It is tough shit. She got a reprieve this week her white cell count was down so they put it off a week. Mean while I’m having to do strange stuff, like washing my hands and keeping things clean, totally against my nature.

    Jack

  8. So what’s the deal with Rand Paul making love to the Trumpster?

Is he angling for  the VP slot 2020 ? it is the only way he could become president.

    Jack

  9. Jack, I remember from Kumcho’s bout with breast cancer that the women’s support groups were very helpful in suggesting various soaps and creams that would be comforting while not causing dermatological problems. She did not have chemo but did have lots of rad and the wounds from her surgery and the removal of lymph nodes.

There are so many families here that have been challenged by cancer; we are all here to support the both of you.

We tend to be independent tough types who are the ones reaching out. It is amazing to us how many different people have reached out in different ways. From our local councilman and neighborhood leaders to sherry’s co-workers and all of you here. We seem to have a rich network that we didn’t  realize existed.

When Sherry went in Monday she was decked out in several good luck necklaces that have been given to her by friends. There was another woman there also being treated for cancer. It was a “I cried because I had  no shoes then meet a man with no feet” moment

Her husband was suffering from dementia, her only daughter lived out of town and she had no support system, she was the support system for her world.

My wife is an interesting  person, she is an old hippy chick so she took off one of the necklaces and gave it to the woman while saying the mumbojumbo that means so much at a times like this. that she  receive the necklace with great love and she wanted her to share in our support.

    We do what we can,

BTW a heart felt thanks for your comments

    Jack

  11. RR, thanks, got a good laugh there.

Other than “hit by a truck” my favorite line on the tape: “Get me a Coke” — now that it’s public he can charge the company a product placement fee.

  12. I love this:

If you have had sex and didn’t have to pay for it — you are a better deal maker than Donald Trump

  13. what’re the odds on the “hit by a truck” being a threat to pass on, expectation of what was in the works planned at that time or mere observation of sh*t happens?

  14. Pepsi stock skyrockets, as Coca-Cola tanks with Trump’s unintentional endorsement.

  15. the hill via msn:
A crowd of mostly high school students booed when Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) mentioned his colleague Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) during a speech on Tuesday night.
“The reason we didn’t repeal [ObamaCare] is because we have six or seven Republican senators who got cold feet,” Paul said at the High School Leadership Summit hosted by conservative group Turning Point USA (TPUSA).
“Let’s just say, John McCain and a few others,” Paul added, drawing boos from the audience.

    […]
On Tuesday, the high school crowd also interrupted Paul’s TPUSA speech with Trump’s signature campaign rally chant “lock her up,” which refers to jailing former Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.
“So, when the people say, ‘Oh, what about the Republicans and Russians,’ the only person we know who paid the Russians was Hillary Clinton,” Paul said.
The crowd chanted “lock her up” until Paul resumed speaking.
Earlier in the day, Attorney General Jeff Sessions also laughed as a TPUSA crowd chanted “lock her up.”
The four-day TPUSA conference spans runs through Thursday and features top conservative figures including the president’s son Donald Trump Jr., former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci and billionaire venture capitalist Peter Thiel.

  16. wapo:  Federal judge allows emoluments case against Trump to proceed
A federal judge on Wednesday rejected President Trump’s latest effort to stop a lawsuit that alleges Trump is violating the Constitution by continuing to do business with foreign governments.

The ruling, from U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte in Greenbelt, Md., will allow the plaintiffs in the case — the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia — to proceed with their case, which says Trump has violated the Constitution’s little-used emoluments clause.

The plaintiffs now want to interview Trump Organization employees and search company records to determine which foreign countries have spent money at Trump’s hotel in downtown Washington.

The Justice Department and Trump’s attorneys did not immediately respond to requests for comment. They could try to appeal the decision to a higher court and ask Messitte not to allow the attorneys general access to Trump Organization employees and books until the appeal is decided.
    […]
Before Trump took office, his company said it would donate all “foreign profits” collected by the business to the federal treasury. At the end of last year, the Trump Organization said it donated $151,470 in February. But it declined to explain the details behind that number — giving no information about which countries those profits came from or what the Trump Organization’s total revenue from foreign governments had been.
In a separate lawsuit, 200 Democrats in Congress asked a U.S. district judge to force Trump to seek congressional approval before accepting emoluments. The judge in that case has not ruled on the merits of the suit.

  17. the guardian:   Made in China: Trump re-election flags may get burned by his tariffs

The red, white and blue banners for Donald Trump’s second-term campaign are ready to ship, emblazoned with the words “Keep America Great!”

But they are made in eastern China and soon could be hit by punitive tariffs of the president’s own making as he ratchets up a rancorous trade dispute with Beijing.

At the Jiahao Flag company in Anhui province, women operate sewing machines to hem the edges of “Trump 2020” flags the size of beach towels, while others fold and bundle them for delivery.
The factory has turned out about 90,000 banners since March, said manager Yao Yuanyuan, an unusually large number for what is normally the low season, and Yao believed the China-US trade war was the reason.

“It’s closely related,” she said. “They are preparing in advance, they are taking advantage of the fact that the tariffs haven’t gone up yet, with lower prices now.”

[….]…..Yao’s factory has been making Trump banners since the time his tag line as a candidate was “Make America Great Again”.
“Sales have been great ever since 2015,” she said.

  18. Ohboyohboyohboy, water found on Mars under the ice cap.  Time to call and book SpaceX for the trip.  I think I’ll make that a one way ticket, particularly if we have to live through an SFB 2nd term.

Jack, our thoughts are with Sherry.  You, you’ll survive the hand washing – just be good to her.

  19. I’m sure there are some fine people among the RW Turning Point High School Leadership Summit attendees, but based on the video I’ve heard, they aren’t in the majority.  Sounds more like a buncha Cult of Personality kids following a nutcase with a personality disorder (apologies to Living Colour).

  20. Eh- most of the HS-age kids I interact with are vicious little fascists- the rest are apathetic (non-participatory) dolts, hence my hopelessness for a brighter American future.   All these Republican monsters you read about and see at Chump rallies have kids, and they are being indoctrinated by them.

I heard(hear) more negative opinions from young women about HRC than from young men.  Women don’t want to stick together so they’ll continue to be ruled by men, with cheap little internet ostracisms the only victories against them.

  21. Notice that the March against Violence kids are no longer in the news, but the Kardashians still are!

    Every.  Day.

  22. Jack…    my mother was a tough old bird too…   she survived her cancer fight.  Wishing both you and Sherry the best and the strength to keep fighting.

  23. bink,  patience man.  small victories here and there.  example just this afternoon from abc news:

Lucy McBath, lost son to gun violence wins Democratic nomination in Georgia: ‘To not do anything is a tragedy’

    […]

A former flight attendant and spokesperson for Everytown for Gun Safety, McBath decided to run for Congress in March, after the shooting in Parkland, Florida. Over the course of her campaign, she received influential endorsements of several prominent Democrats, including Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga.

    [….]

McBath would also make history if elected — she would be the only black woman in Georgia’s congressional delegation — but maintains that she never saw a foray into politics in her life plan.

    [….]
It was the sixth fatal school shooting since the attack in Parkland. When it happened, McBath was on the campaign trail in Georgia. And she knew what the parents were going through.
“I was just as angry and devastated … with Santa Fe as I was for Parkland because Jordan was the same age as all these children that have been gunned down,” she said.
Now, McBath is part of a growing movement: Parents who’ve lost a child to gun violence deciding to run for office.

  24. Looks like Geraint Thomas may be wearing yellow in  Paris absent a herculean time trial effort by Froome or Dumoulin.  Dumoulin beat Froome in the Giro d-Italia time trial by a few seconds 2 months ago and Thomas is an excellent time trialist.  Not seeing much movement in the GC standings as a result of the mountains, but the money folks have Thomas at 1/6, Dumoulin at 11/1 and Froome at 16/1 – they don’t see any shuffling among the top 3 between now and Paris.

  25. Jack and Mrs. Jack – My world of hell gave me insight to when my body would keep in anything.  During the day our bodies have various cycles, one of which is when our digestive tract works.  In my case, and many others, there is a small window where the upchuck urge is minimalized, sometime around midnight to one a.m.  Mine was between oo:30 and 00:40.  That is when I would toss in as much moose tracks ice cream with whipped cream, sprinkles and fruit as I could.  It would stay in and I would survive another day.

I offer my strength to Mrs. Jack.  It is hell she is going through.  It takes a lot to fight and keep on fighting.

  26. Pogo – Sagan is just about at the point where he is mathematically the Green Jersey winner.  I missed the live win yesterday and today.  I hate meetings.

  27. BB, yeah – I missed it too.  With a lead of 282 points over Kristoff I also think Sagan has mathematically eliminated any serious threat to his retaining the green jersey. I was amazed at how Cavendish declined in a year.  Maybe he’s a little sick, or maybe age and the wear and tear of bicycle racing finally caught up with him.   I’ve also been a bit surprised at Froome – maybe the Giro took more out of him than he though it would, but he hasn’t shown the level of prowess in the mountains he’s shown in the past.  Then again, It may just be the changing of the guard.

  28. So it wasn’t Obama wiretapping Trump; it was one of the big dummy’s mistreated and misguided lieutenants.

Some people I follow on the Twitter Machine have recommended Robert Friedman’s Red Mafiya for a baseline understanding of Trump/Putin dynamics. Russian mob as the crux of what Mueller & Co. are going after.

I can see it. Organized crime. Trump as a dumb, charm-free Tony Soprano who eschews ricotta pie in favor of Big Macs. The loyalty oaths, Michael Cohens, Married to the Mob females hanging around the big dummy.

But if this proves true, it will be one distasteful pill for America to swallow.

  29. Hi, Mr Doodlesdog ! I’ve missed you.

Yup, our icky don wants to be a russian don. This is an attempt at world conquest by the mob. For sure it will be an unpleasant pill to swallow, but it can’t be avoided. Only flat earthers and birthers will refuse to swallow it, even after the confessions.

  30. bb & pogo & bink & whoever else is watching the big bike race,  could it be that climate change – however subtle the difference in temp and humidity –  could be what’s causing the changed  performance in those you’ve mentioned above?   the rough terrain, hill and dale may be the same but the atmospheric pressure may not be what it’s been in the past thus affecting them physically as well as mentally.

  31. From the spam box, it made me smile,

    Just kidding
    Jack

  32. Patd,

Is climate-change responsible for Froome and Cavendish’s decline?  No.  I’ve noticed it hasn’t rained much this July, in France.  Oh, and the entire American West is on fire.

Cavendish is old, and has been in 3 bad crashes in the last year.  Froome won the Giro D’Italia, which they say is even harder than Le Tour, less than two months ago- he’s just spent, but will still likely make the podium in Paris. He has conceded “Yellow” to Geraint Thomas, and will ride in support of him, and not to win, as they are teammates.

Check out Phillipe Gilbert’s twitter for pictures of his knee after he fell off a bridge.

Sagan crashed today, so even though he has Green locked-up, he still has to make it to Paris.  He said nothing is broken, so…

  33. Patd, I agree with Bink. While I would love for climate change to be demonstrable through athletic events, I don’t believe it is. At best it is weather at work. But I really do agree with Bink, Cavendish is old and Froome is basically tired.

So thanks to Spectrum, I’ve had to hook up the kitchen television through an Amazon TV receiver or whatever the hell you call those things. I just watched the Martin Scorsese 2 1/2 hour documentary on George Harrison. What a wonderful production.

  34. bink & pogo, am ever looking for that “climate change to be demonstrable” bullet to get to the attention of the public at large. otherwise a sad sad day coming….

  35. trump antics have severely impinged upon my TdF watching the last 2 years. It’s not that I am getting old, it’s that the political climate is warming globally.
