Advice to the Democrats: Do not listen to the pollsters. Not today, not next month, not on November 7th. Think & act as if you are 10 points behind. Run as if every single state is up for play. Treat all Voters with respect; do not be dismissive. You need these fellow Americans now more than ever. This election cycle has been about emotion more than facts. Take every opportunity to speak out & set the record straight immediately. Thomas Dewey blew it, even after everyone had written Harry Truman off – because the only Poll that matters is on Election Day.

Growing up during the late ’60s, ’70s meant two things: good music & Pat Paulsen running for President. Whether his candidacy was viewed as a protest against the powers that be or as a great long running skit, the man said things that were uncomfortable but true. Stuff the “King” & society needed to hear, though maybe didn’t want to.  Where have all the Court Jesters gone today? It’s easy to spout a monologue or act out a cute sketch on the TV/Internet, to host a gala or contribute Big Bucks. But who is actually putting themselves out ….. there? We need humor personified. We need truthtellers with really long needles to pop very big balloons. Desperately.

To quote Mr. Paulsen: “I’ve upped my standards. Now, up yours.”

Senator Sanders drew 11,400 people to his rally at the University at Buffalo Alumni Center Monday night. 8,000 inside; the remainder standing outside in a cold rain for hours. I listened to the speech on my local NPR station. The crowd reaction was strong to every point made by the Senator.

Secretary Clinton spoke at the Pierce Arrow Museum last Friday. Hundreds attended; in fact, the Buffalo Fire Marshall had to stop letting people in because the building had reached capacity.

Senator Cruz is scheduled to speak in Buffalo this Thursday. A small (but very dedicated) group is reaching out to the Kasich campaign to schedule a stop.

Next Monday, April 18th, Mr Trump will be holding his final New York State rally at the First Niagara Center, which is about 11 minutes from where I live. The building holds 18,690 people. I expect there will be many more than that attending; outdoor screens should be in use.

I welcome them all. Kudos to any Candidate who inspires, reaches out & remembers that he/she works for us. Kudos to every Citizen who participates in any way. Democracy is a beautiful thing & it is in full bloom. I love this stuff.

Twitter has positive attributes, one being hashtag games. I noticed an recent offering was “If I Were President.” The answers ranged from the silly to the not so silly. But I must admit, it’s a fun topic.

So, what type of President would you be …. REALLY? We’ve all daydreamed about this. Name your Veep, choose your Cabinet. Ram through legislation near & dear to your heart. Design new WH china, dress the guards up like Nixon did. What the hell. Here’s your chance.

Madam/Mr President, your public awaits.

I wasn’t a Trail Mix member back in 2008 & from what I’ve read of the experience, sorta glad I wasn’t. I am a member now, proudly, & enjoy all the people who comment. I don’t take any negative comments personally. Heck, I’m happy when anyone replies because I know they took the time to read what I wrote. I respect that. Thank You.

What saddens me is when people leave or threaten to leave because of something written about a Candidate. Don’t leave. Now is the time to offer up the best defense for your Candidate. Do your best to convince me to support & vote for the person you feel so passionately about. Take Me To Your Leader. You have the power of persuasion on your side. Every person who comments on this site is intelligent, decent & has integrity. This is why I joined. This is why I stay.
